Ack! Sorry to hear that GM DSP! I wish you well, and we'll mostly be waiting here when you return.

![]() |

It is alright. Though I know we'll be here.

![]() |

You know, I feel like I should explain something by how Mary has shifted into a more serious tone.
The reason for this shift, I'd have to say that it is due to her training in the Pathfinder Society. And being jumped by goblins that nearly killed her to boot! So she is relying on such trained skills to make sure no one gets hurt tonight.
Except maybe the ones that did all of this.
What do you guys think?

Luminita Zantus |

Sounds perfectly reasonable. I think that would make for a very compelling character. Tsakua and Kent both feel pretty rough-and-tumble, and I'm going for the love-the-world, sappy, free spirited priestess. It would be nice to see someone who is practical and relies on logic and reason rather than emotional outbursts.
Not that there was anything wrong with the previous Mary. I think it's a fitting adaptation.

![]() |

It is just a part of her. Just like any trained forces, she has a combat time, then she has her off time.
Right now, Mary knows that Luminita and Tsakua will take care of the villagers. So she will endeavor to help Kent find the people responsible. So it shifts from making sure the villagers are safe to making sure Kent and Tas are okay.
And Mary hasn't shown how logical she can be yet, I think. But when relaxed, you can easily tell she has fun. After all, why would she follow Cayden if she couldn't have any fun! :P

Tas Acantha |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I think it makes sense to approach different situations in different ways. Real people can be methodical and fun in equal measure so too can Mary. It makes for good story telling.

Kent Atherton |

I mean, Kent's next level is going to be in Barbarian, if that tells you anything about his reliance on logical thinking. Having someone in the party who is at least sometimes playing it straight is probably a good idea, and I like the route you're looking to take to accomplish it. I play that character a lot in my home groups, so Kent is a fun break.

Tsakua |

It does take all kinds. Tsakua can be hotheaded (as has already been seen) but recognizes that he needs to take turns with Kent. And every once in a while he might have a good idea. I don't get a lot of opportunity to play a character at all, so it's good to explore the possibilities for growth and character development

Kent Atherton |

Kent has had an irrational hatred of doors, ever since one killed his mother when he was little.
In all seriousness, I expect this to go absolutely horribly. Kent has no tact and is going to start a fight at the slightest provocation, and all without anyone to heal him when he wades into the middle of a brawl. Let's have some fun, shall we?

![]() |

I got a feeling you had enough time to get your ability off. But I must say that if you got that now, you might not be so lucky later on. And I have to ask, does Tas have color spray? I think that might be very useful in this situation. O.o

Tas Acantha |

I'm pretty sure you just killed that guy!
Unfortunately I don't have color spray. Tas will gain more control spells as he levels but for now he's a young man enamored the raw power of his magical abilities. I'll probably invest in a wand one day when we get paid for something.

Kent Atherton |

That is entirely possible. I'm... not sure Kent cares? He might later, but right now he is filled with a righteous vengeance. If nothing else, he is probably hardcore in the negatives and we're probably not going to be dissuading them. I apologize out of character for getting the rest of the party into this mess, but Kent's probably not going to listen to reason until somebody in that room is bleeding profusely.

Tas Acantha |

Well, Tas was looking for adventure, he's certainly got his hands full of it now. No need for apology, it's all very exciting.
GM, would it be possible to put a link to the map in your header (similar to how we have our stats)? It would make finding the map easier, especially down the line when we're sure to have longer combats that might span a few pages.

Luminita Zantus |

Just from personal DM experience, a map in the header is great, but you are limited in how many links you have up at one time. Limit is roughly 2-3. I usually put extra links in the campaign info tab.
Luminita won't likely pick much in the way of control spells. Her stats just aren't the best for it (though not the worst). I'm planning for buffs and heals more than anything else. With a side of knowledge skills, of course. I'm planning to carry a million scrolls of random stuff, like air bubble and ant haul.
I may have to spend some healing on helpless victims of Kent's rage. Or at least bandage them up to prevent bleeding out. Maybe investing in some Calm Emotions... I can only imagine how that'll go.

Luminita Zantus |

I don't think the GM actually has control of the game yet? I know he mentioned once they hadn't made him the official GM yet, but I don't know if that's changed.
Oops, I forgot about that

Tas Acantha |

The point was more so I could find it on the same page as I craft my post, but that's okay it's not that big of a hassle, just thought I'd ask.

![]() |

I am around. It just seems like posting slows due to the weekend. Happens to my other PBP as well.

Tas Acantha |

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes here, but I have growing concerns about this campaign. This game is almost a year old, Tas' first in game post was 7 months ago, but so far there has been little to no progress in the story, no loot, no gold, or any other hallmarks of a thriving campaign.
Everyone is running on their slowly depleting starting gear and we've spent a majority of the time playing in the tavern discussing that we're unsure how to proceed. Everyone has really interesting characters and from what I've heard this AP is fun to play through, but at this rate I don't know that I have the patience to go through an entire adventure path at this rate.
I know a majority of you have been around even longer, so I hope I'm not offending anyone, but if this game doesn't pick up speed I don't know that I'm going to be able to maintain interest.

![]() |

I am kinda in the same boat. I hope things pick up and we get more into the story of this AP and the stories of our characters.
And I also agree with you about dwindling resources. I really want to replenish Mary's ammunition for her musket. Sure she can fight with a sword, but that isn't where her training lies.

Kent Atherton |

Same problem as well, we have no idea where to go and we haven't got much left to use, and I'm really not sure where we're going with this anymore. I was excited for this because I've actually never read RotRL or played it, but since it's slowed down so much... I just don't know where this is going. We get a post maybe once 1-2 weeks, and I'm not sure it's worth watching anymore.

![]() |

Hopefully the GM will post soon and we can start going at a higher pace.
Or at least attempt to.

Tsakua |

Not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said. For what it''s worth, this was the first PbP game that I had ever played when we started, and I've enjoyed what fun and exciting moments we've had. I'd hate to see it die, but it feels like it's been barely hanging on as it is.
