A conversation in the cathedral between Luminita, and her uncle Abstalar Zantus.
Although normally cheerful, Luminita walks brazenly into the Sandpoint cathedral towards her uncle. She is dressed in her brown studded leather traveling armor, with a few accents of orange - signifying adventure and ambition. Underneath is a dark blue blouse - representing strength - and she is armed with her starknife and a shield on her back.
"Uncle," Luminita says with a frown. "I have decided to join the adventurers in their quest to defend Sandpoint."
Father Zantus spits out his tea in surprise. "Luminita! Don't be so foolish, these adventurers are trained mercenaries and pathfinders. They've killed many times in their career, and have faced ambushes… and weather! That kind of life isn't destined for you, my daughter. What could I possibly say to your mother and father if I condoned this?"
Defiant, Luminita holds nothing back. It is clear that she has made up her mind, and that nothing will stop her. "You don't understand uncle… Father… They have no guide, no medic, no scholar or foresight. The magic of our Lady can heal them when in danger, can guide them when they're lost. I understand the laws of magic, the history of our lands, and how to mend one's wounds. Even if a question is posed that I cannot answer, I know that Desna may guide me. You must grant me your blessing, Father."
"No, Luminita, you must stay where there are songs." Replies Abstalar, now breaking into proverb. "If you treat your luck well, it will never leave you, but to rely on it will only bring misfortune. Leave the adventurers to their own tasks. Between them and the guard, our lands will be safe. I worry that something has happened in our boneyard, and I am considering summoning the adventurers for aid." He knows Luminita too well, so he shuts her down before she can even protest. "No, you cannot go with them. Even if you can heal them in times of danger, who will protect you? You have no experience in adventuring."
"It is in the water that one learns to swim." Luminita retorts. "We are all wanderers on this earth. Our hearts are full of wonder, and our souls are deep with dreams. Father, I cannot stay here while goblins threaten our homes. The guard here is so small and ill-equipped, and the adventurers number only three. A real goblin invasion would burn us to the ground. Please father, uncle! Grant me your blessing, and let me follow the butterflies and listen to the song of spheres. Desna shall guide me."
I fully admit that I will not make posts nearly this fleshed out on a day-by-day basis, but I hope this helps show my capabilities.
