Reflections in the Eyes of the Beholders (Inactive)

Game Master Terquem

It is like a shroud, like the folds of a black curtain. A strange darkness has fallen across the city of Rhandilinskenburg. Two different armies have invaded the city. Chaos reigns. Death spreads across the city like ripples in a pond. There have been a few survivors, only a few. |

Will Post tomorrow and add another line or too to Shakespear's Sonnet

we should be close to closing this game. Unless you are confused about anything.

Oscar, if you should take the time to ever look her direction while talking with the watcher, will put her finger to her lips as if to say "shhhh"

It seems obvious that the Watcher can Hear things, and can probably detect things, but cannot see while in this room.

I've opened the game thread for the new game. Stella will be teleported to the south of Torch, within sight of the structures so she cannot get lost. You can take Oscar with you if you want to, but she will always stay in Torch, acting as your eyes and ears there, and keeping your house for you (once you establish a place to live).

Any questions?

No, and I remember reading that. She won't say a word ^.^

She wants to keep her friend around. She knows its dangerous to bring It' Dupree back, but for her it seems like her only option. Playing with fire she knows.

But I think she gets the gist. I have a couple of questions I think she would ask. Like what exactly is she looking for ect.

Also, was wondering if the Necromechadons have their own language. She may want to pick it up. Especially if that is the language from the space ships that will tie into the iron gods game.

Sorry had long work day will try to post.

Male, old, old, Male

no worries - The Nechromechadons come from the world where you will be going, and they are a product of the Rain of Stars event and the nature of this other world. You can certainly understand the language of the Nechromechadons (as they have been brought to your world as pleasure slaves for a long time - cultured people in this city know the language of the undead machines, but most will not admit to it).

I'll try to answer anymore questions you have about the transition, and when you are ready I will make an introductory post in the new game thread that places you south of Torch, within sight of the town buildings, and then you can make your entrance from there.

Ill do that tomorrow. LONG LONG Workday today so mostly out of it.

I'll introduce you when you are ready - see you in a few days.

Thanks for putting up with me.

I am feeling well enough to start getting back to updating games. It will be slow at first, maybe two or three games today, and then the rest will follow through the weekend.

I appreciate everyone’s patience.

I’ll start each game post with a review, to try and bring everyone back to where we were when we left off, and a prompt to getting us moving again.

I imagine it will take some time for everyone to realize the games are going to get moving again.

Again, thank you.

I'll review your lists today, and then give you a final list of my own (should be almost everything you are looking for). Then if you have more questions let's wrap them up. I'd like to get you moved over to the other game soon.

Thanks

YAY, I am glad you are better.

I think I am good. I am just wondering how I'll be "hiring" people to join into the group to start the adventure.

Male, old, old, Male

Below is my take on the items you mentioned. I've included a large "carpet bag" in this list and not a backpack. The carpet bag will hold everything on the list that I will allow, and the umbrella will strap to the side using the leather closing straps "Mary Poppins style"

As to hiring the help you need, you have some jewelry, and you can try to sell that once you get to torch, who knows. Otherwise, I feel you are going to have to "sell your cause" to the other players to get them involved in your quest, or try to join them in theirs and hope you can find what you are looking for while in their company.

My plan is to teleport you, bag in one hand, Oscar's hand in the other, to a place just south of Torch, within sight of the town, but not too close to arouse suspicion at your sudden arrival.

Belt with pouches/purse (you find a variety of shoulder bags, in different styles and sizes – and you select one that is most durable, with a thick strap, and handy compartments – with a capacity of about 1 cubic foot. There are no “utility belts” per se, but there are strong leather belts with small rings where pouches could be attached, but no pouches that seem to be appropriate)

Boots (yes, both high and hard leather material, as well as low cut and soft, you should be able to select one to where and one to carry)

heavy leather jacket/cloak (a heavy canvas cloak, warm but not water proof, no leather jacket)

Food (there is no food n the house, other than a few apples, a half a loaf of bread, and a jar of plum preserves)

backpack (you find a large carpet bag, the principal did not go in for the kinds of activities where she would need a back pack, the carpet bag is large, almost suitcase sized, opens like a hinged mouth on the top for the full length of the bag, and will carry 5.5 cubic feet of material, nothing longer than 30 inches in length or 18 inches high or wide)

chalk
ink and pens
paper
Matches
Another water/wineskin
A small chest, with a lock and key
(all the items from Chalk to a water skin, in quantities of your need, don’t go crazy – you find the jewelry mentioned in the game post in a small lockable jewelry box, it is not too strong, but it should hold up well, and fits inside the carpet bag. The box is made of wood, with copper banding (more for decoration than strength) and a simple lock with only one key, which was found beneath the box. It will hold .25 cu feet of loose items, being about 10 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 6 inches tall)

Makeup kit (you find a small assortment of powders, lip coloring pots, and some small brushes, not enough to really be called a “kit” but a few useful items of good quality)

More in depth sewing kit. (you find a small lidded basket with needles and thread, a pair of scissors, and a few small pieces of quilting or patching cloths)

Possibly a full up hand mirror or compact mirror ( a small hand held mirror, it is glass)

Parasol (no)
Parasol (Umbrella) (a sturdy rain resistant, oil coated canvas, umbrella, it is heavy and very durable)

Embroidery hoop (I plan on giving her ranks in craft: clothing/profession: Seamstress) (no)

A bedroll (blankets, from light to heavy, one of each type will fit in the carpet bag, and still leave room)

Flint and steel (no)

Iron pot (a small one, with a lid, and handle that is a large hoop over the top)

Journal if possible (you find a few journals, already with pages nearly full, and one small forty page blank journal, with heavy paper)

Mess kit (you can take a few spoons, forks, and knives from the kitchen, a cup, plate, and a couple of different sizes of small bowls)

Soap (yes, both bar and bottled soaps are available)

Lantern (Bullseye if available) a small desk oil lamp is available, it has a removable hurricane glass, which is fragile)

Oil (two pints)

Rope (if it would be around) (not in any lengths or strengths that are useful, there is a ball of twine, probably used to tie bundles of laundry or small paper wrapped packages)

Candles (four long, thick dining room decoration style candles with four separated candlesticks, make of porceline in the shape of musicians)

Teapot and TEA!!! (a small metal teapot, and three tins of tea, two of which are aromatic and spicy, while the third is a mellow evening tea)
Honey!! (one small jar with a metal closing lid)
Grooming Kit (scissors and combs, no hair brushes)
Magnet (no)
Scriveners's Kit (no)
Scroll Box or Case. Figured at home a box would be more likely (no – the principal did not keep scrolls in the house, trusting such things to the office at the school instead)
Empty Vials ( a few small, cork stopper types)
Playing Cards (yes, a simple playing deck of fifty six cards, in four suits of fourteen)
PERFUME...girls got to smell nice (no)
IF these are available ::
Healer's Kit (no healer’s kit, but there is a cabinet with a few ointments, and powders for treating minor skin rashes, and burns, and a dressing kit with bandages, in a pinch it could help out with a Heal Skill Check)

Harrow Cards/ OR some fortune telling cards (no, but there is a set of peculiar dice in a velvet bag, probably used to play a fortune telling game, and another small bag with a simple card game called “Love Letter”)

Female Aasimar Student Wizard0/Bard1 |1|18/26 hp| AC (10), T (10), FF (10)|Fort 1, Ref 2, Wil 5| CMD 12|Com 33(35)+1 | Perception +9 Intuition +5

I love Love Letter. That is such a fun game. Heh,

Okay yeah will take all those items probably. Ill get you numbers on papers and pouches ect.

AND I LOVE THE MARY POPPINS BAG IDEA.

I may take craft wondrous items just to make it a bag of holding.

If you are ready to make a permanent transition to the new game I will write an introductory post, describing your arrival, what you see, and what time of day it is, and then you can post in the new game thread, taking actions to get yourself into the town on your own terms, and discovering the place as you would like.

This game will be achieved. But you can always request information you need from this thread be recovered and posted to the campaign tab of the new game if you need it.

Will do! Heh, I am ready to transition over.
