--Sandman-- |

great. Just let me know.
I think we should go and do some kind of side quest before we take on the big one, just so we can all be a level higher before we try to tackle it.

Doing a search on both threads I still don't see any individual awards except Beth and Obi for 100 each.

brvheart |

Obi, that means you and Beth are at 22,847. Everyone else is at 22,747. So everyone is still level 5. I will have a short encounter that should level everyone up.

--Sandman-- |

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. Not sure how I got ahead.

Beth Macara |

Thanks for doing all that work Beth!!!
There's a very good search engine where you can just search for "XP" or "experience" :)....
Joke aside, I'll keep the file updated from now on.
brvheart |

Well I did the search myself and I was coming up a little short so I thank-you!:)

brvheart |

So, does anyone have a player in mind for the wizard? I am short of players this time of year.

Silas Frey |

Thanks everyone. She's back home now (I'm married to an American) so just sorting out stuff for memorial service so should be around with limited delays.
We could just put up a recruitment thread for the new player.

Known Whispers
Hargrove has a reputation as a premier map collector
and boasts an even greater reputation as an appraiser
and cartography enthusiast. He plans to hold a gallery
opening for his cartography treasures, opening them
to the public for the cultural enrichment of Port Shaw.
Bonedeuce seems well liked by most citizens, and his
rise to the position of commandant is legitimate and
well deserved. He’ll be fiddling again at the
Broken Skull soon.
Falken Drango, a feared pirate of the Razor Coast, went
mad and murdered his own crew.
When they nabbed that McFarrows fellow, blood
stained his mouth like a big ‘o’ and he kept calling for
his wife, Jessica
Harok McFarrows murdered his wife and family for the
love of another woman!
I believe Harok’s tale of a man-shark devouring the
village and attacking him, don’t you?
The Tulita Elder keeps trying to get some Milliwhosis
witch doctor into the Lodge to help govern the city.”
Most folks find this ridiculous. A minority believes
better representation among the original inhabitants
will ease tensions in Port Shaw.
Did ye hear? Viscount Deepwarder’s niece, ah wha’ be
her name? Damn. Anyways she ran off wit’ a bunch o’
other rich sprogs. They headed t’ that island or other.
Stupid sprogs. Dolentla Isle! Thar be t’ one. Damned
memory ain’t wha’ it used t’ be.
There’s a new High Priest of Quell in town, who
came to replace Archibald Noeliss. His name is Zalen
Trafalgar, and some folks wonder if he is related to
the famed Wave Rider Solomon Trafalgar. Whoever
he’s related to, he’s healing the sick and the poor –
even Tulita. He should be healin’ them thar’s that
pays, instead!
Dragonsmoke smugglers pollute the local people
with their deadly drugs. Young colonials as
well as Tulita swell the ranks of local addicts.
Despite their best efforts, the Dragoons have
accomplished nothing.
The docks at night are a hot bed of illegal dealings. It’s
a good place to buy dragonsmoke, and Tulita from the
inland tribes routinely bring cages of exotic mainland
animals to the docks at night. They leave each morning
with empty cages.
People know of the Kraken, but not his demonic
heritage. While no one has sighted the Kraken for many
years, and some take that as proof he died breaking the
Wave Riders, most Rumor of a dark power that kills
those foolish enough to venture too far past Darkol
Island and Halgrin’s Rest. Moreover, they are angry
about the impact on shipping, and how ships vanishing
on the Razor Sea drives up the price of whale oil and
commodities from the far continent.
They found the map to Garr Bloodbane’s gold! The
real map. No joke. Hargrove found it, of course. The
rich always make out, don’t they? And you know
how I know its true? Word is they’re equipping an
expedition. Those’re expensive. They don’t send
something like that out unless the map is real, I
tell you.
Zalen Trafalgar, the new high priest of Quell, is offering
a reward for finding a missing persons. Interested parties
may inquire at the Chapterhouse.
Chapterhouses of Quell along the Razor are gutted and
gone. Empty. No one knows what attacked them, but
something did.
I heard there’s a new drug turned up in the islands. Some
cargo pit, the Jaws or sumthin’ is serving up Brainfog, it’s
called.
Hargrove found a map to Garr Bloodbane’s gold – for
real!

brvheart |

Silas, Beth, Sandman and Obi - it seems we have a couple of recruits if the four of you are wishing to continue without Morgan and Jequette.

--Sandman-- |

I definitely am. Even if we didn't get anyone else, that's a pretty solid group.

brvheart |

Ok, I have approved the two new players. Hopefully Silas and Obi are also with us:)

Wexley |

Hello sirs and lady. I am also prepared to be integrated into gameplay. I thought perhaps Wexley could be in active pursuit of the mad Mr Falken Drango, and he could meet you all accordingly (if indeed you plan to meet him at midnight).

--Sandman-- |

Leialoha looks like he and Sandman would get along great. Should we come up with a way that they know each other?

Silas Frey |

Yeah as I said I'm just having issues being on at the moment with family stuff. Just to flag up I'm running a gaming convention from Thursday to Sunday so may have issues then as well.
If we're doing something else before Drango depending on timing that may mean Wexley is out of it for a bit.
Leiahola could come with information from the Tulita especially as we're supposed to be working for them.

Leialoha |

Leialoha looks like he and Sandman would get along great. Should we come up with a way that they know each other?
Sure, how did you and Hoeroa come to Port Shaw? Pretty sure we're all of the Sugalo ethnicity so we could be from the same tribe or tribes close enough to have known one another.
Its also possible they've met one another in Port Shaw. Leialoha has been in Port Shaw for 1-2 years. Long enough to have gotten into some trouble, but also long enough to have learned his way around.
If it won't screw anything up for brvheart (such as making future social interactions needlessly difficult), I'm thinking Bonedeuce's Dragoons might have even picked him up and briefly held him after an arson incident not long after he got to town, but they didn't realize what they had and let him go (thinking he was a witness rather than a perp).
Overall, he currently leads a shadowy life as far as the colonials are concerned, but as budding folk hero to the Tulita who tell stories of 'Pele's Tear' starting fires where injustice has been done to the Tulita.
Leiahola could come with information from the Tulita especially as we're supposed to be working for them.
For joining the group, I could see Leialoha simply butting in when he finds out that a mixed group of Tulita, colonials, and foreigners is going after the Jawbone. Depending on how things are meant to unfold, we could also have one of those classic scenes where the group and Leialoha both arrive on the scene with the half-caste (or at least where he is supposed to be) at the same time having tracked him via separate methods.

Silas Frey |

Issue with that in much the same way as Drango is I'm not sure when we're going after the half caste. At the moment we really just want to grab a couple hundred Xp, hit 6th level and go try and deal with the smuggler's cove.

Leialoha |

No worries. I saw that you guys had decided to gain some more xp before tackling the cove, but I thought that you were taking Beth's lead to head to the north end near Barrett's to look for the half-caste. Given what that guy has absconded with, that's enough to get Leialoha's attention, but if you're going to try something else, I'll work him in another way.

brvheart |

Now why would you want to arrest poor Obi? He may he as mad as a hatter, but he is our hatter!

Wexley |

He was seen by the dragoons right? I could haul him in for questioning. A few hours and some non-lethal damage later, he's out on bail and we're all chummy.
-Posted with Wayfinder

brvheart |

Bail? There is no bail with the dragoons. Obi would be swinging from the gibbet in a day or so! Much better if you are investigating the shark attacks and meet them up the coast. The dragoons tend to hang people for the slightest offense here. I can see the inquisitor deeming that Leialoha was a witness possibly. Still, the dragoons would eye him very suspiciously even after they let him go. This would give him reason to hide out and meet the party.

Wexley |

Bah. He'd be fine. We could save up for a raise dead if it came to that.
Just kidding! Shark attacks work. But to what inquisitor are you referring?
-Posted with Wayfinder

brvheart |

Bonedeuce is known to employ an inquisitor (not by class) at Fort Stormshield. He is specialized in getting at the truth through tried and tested means (generally torture). His wounds would unlikely be subdual! This would not sit well with Wexley I am sure.

Leialoha |

I can see the inquisitor deeming that Leialoha was a witness possibly. Still, the dragoons would eye him very suspiciously even after they let him go. This would give him reason to hide out and meet the party.
Pretty much exactly what I was thinking except for it happening months ago. Looking for the light to go on for Bonedeuce or the Inquisitor sometime down the road. Leialoha has gotten a lot more careful about being caught since then.
Shark attack investigation would work fine, especially if there have been Tulita victims.

brvheart |

Now I have you on the right track Wexley! For now you are investigating the case of McFarrow who is accused of killing his wife. You have found a link with the shark attacks, but must prove his innocence.
Leialoha, there have been both colonial and Tulita victims of the shark attacks.
