Segray whispers to group. "Guys! Someone's coming!" and she quickly comes into the room as well.

Zora busies herself gathering together the bones and bundling them together as respectfully as she can under the circumstances, and murmuring prayers to Pharasma over the remains for the slightly inelegant method of transporation. At Segray's warning she looks up, frowning.
I put a red arrow on the map where I think is the direction in question, not 100% sure since I couldn't remember perfectly where Segray had been. :P

Delio shrugs. "Perhaps it's an ally, or some mindless beast. Either way, not much of a challenge for Miji. Let's go." He indicates that Balomar and Miji should lead the way, as planned.

Miji and Delio quickly move to the short staircase leading to the next room and peer in. Three statues of lantern archons cast a steady light from the alcoves in this room. Murals depicting dog-headed figures and angelic humanoids battling undead horrors cover the walls. The lantern archons are the faint light source of the room and the flickering of the lights as detected by Segray is attributed to 7 feet tall roughly chiseled figure of ice and snow that moves with the sound of cracking and popping ice. It moves back and forth along the same line (on the map in blue) between the statues.
The others shake their heads when the two daring men run off...

Benedict thinks for a moment and only a moment. "That is definitely an ice golem, so quite obviously immune to cold and vulnerable to fire. It has resistance to weapons not made of adamantine and it's immune to magic that isn't fire related. It can also shoot out a blast of ice and it will explode when it is destroyed. And I assume you want to provoke it into a fight."

Delio shakes his head. "Much as I would enjoy the fight, we have a mission to get through first. If the golem is not in our way, why, let it continue its monotonous pacing uninterrupted by such as we."

Sorry! I think I accidentlly X'd out notifs for this game.
Zora moves behind the front line of warriors speculating over the room, and murmurs a short prayer to look for enchantments. Finding one, she studies it with lips pursed.

"The westernmost statue has some form of magic upon it. But if the creature is, as you say, mindless, then I see no reason to engage it. Is there a reason that room must be walked through? It seems there are other passages we might explore."
I'm fine with avoiding it. I put a red arrow on the map to indicate possible next direction unless someone has another place they want to head.

"While it may be some time before others follow in our footsteps, I feel it may be unwise to leave behind a potentially dangerous creature. It could prove harmful to others, and I believe we are more than capable of taking care of it." Balomar interjects.
I believe we can avoid it, however, Balomar would be concerned about leaving dangerous creatures alive and harmful to our backs, as well as others that may explore here in the future. He won't be insistent however. Just raising a concern.

Balomar holds his blade at the ready, then turns the corner ready for any eventuality.

Segray nods. "I'd prefer to avoid the golem as well. We'll come back if we can't avoid it."

Zora steps int the room to scan it for magic, but doubts there is anything here amid the bric-a-brac. With a last glance over her shoulder to confirm that the golem is still maintaining its route and paying them no mind, Zora shrugs.

"I see nothing worth poking here. There remain other chambers we have not seen," she informs her traveling partners in her dispassionate voice. "To the east, perhaps? Something there may satisfy those of us who wish battle."
Moved arrow on map to where we can try next?

Works for me as well
Segray scans the room with a spell and then nods.

Zora shrugs at Miji's protest, her own gray eyes staring back at Miji. "The seeking of 'life' as you put it ultimately leads to death. But all things do. Pharasma is not concerned with 'fairness' as mortals reckon it. By extension, neither am I. My responsibility is to first ensure that any unquiet dead here are given rest, and then to do my best to prevent any of you meeting Pharasma while I travel with you. It is not to ensure you are entertained."

The group finds nothing of value in the old supply closet and relocate towards the east to continue their search...they come to the hallway where they detected the main orcs and continue searching the areas they skipped.
Coiled in the eastern alcove is the statue of a cobra-like snake with a contemplative humanoid face. Parts of the statue have crumbled and fallen to the ground, though enough detail remains to see sadness in the creature’s stony eyes.

"That is a statue of Slassalla, or at least was. She was a naga who councelled the Kinghts of Ozem and persuaded them to turn the fortress of he who shall not be named into his prison."

Balomar strides forward with the resolve of Iomedae, leading the group to the last unexplored section of the crypt.

Segray shrugs and yawns discreetly. Not really as interesting as I thought it would be...

![]() |

"That's very interesting," Zora says earnestly to Benedict. "You're a studied man I see."
She moves along with the others, spear at the ready for one of the warriors to press into the room.
"Yes, I am. I have found it pays to be the smartest one in the room."

The group continues their search of the crypt and follow the tunnel until it branches off to their right revealing a water source. Warm, steamy water splashes down into the center of this small pool. A set of stairs leads down into the water.
Detect magic reveals something in the water....but no evil is detected in the area...
