After thoughtful discussion the group sees no other benefit in the old alchemical lab and press on to the north...
A sense of calm enters you as you walk into this part of the crypt. The room has multiple alcoves and when you investigate the area you discover religious symbols on the walls and in the alcoves of Aroden, Sarenrae, Torag, and Shizuru...It appears you discovered the warriors shrines to their deities. To the south is the main room where you entered... to the north lies stairs going down.
Balomar
|
Balomar proceeds to the top of the stairs, giving a long stair at each of the alcoves and the symbols within. "Hmm... no symbol Iomedae..."
Balomar
|
Yep. Im pretty sure this is before her ascension to god status. But with no Knowledge(History), Balomar is quite uneducated as to the origins of his own patron deity, much less the historical relevance of this site.
Segray Starnon
|
Segray frowns.
"I have no interest in altars. Let's go down!" she says.
Zora Draznoi
|
"Evidence of worship of the eastern gods," Zora muses, looking at the symbols of Shizuru. "Perhaps the three Minkaian samurai we saw in the book brought that distant faith to this place. I am glad this chamber shows no signs of desecration. Let us proceed down."
Delio PFS
|
Seeing Balomar's reaction, Delio likewise concentrates, listening for discordant notes in the soft hum of the Goddess' music that surrounds him.
Which is to say, detect evil.
Balomar
|
"Evil is afoot... be on your guard," pronounces the paladin before slowly making his way down the stairs.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Zora Draznoi
|
"Oh?" Zora muses. "In that case... should someone wish to be shielded somewhat by Pharasma before we go further down?"
Will Shield of Faith someone for a +2 deflection bonus to AC, 4 minute duration, first person to claim it gets it. ;)

Balomar leads the group down the stairs and finds out the room is in fact a dining room. Petrified oak banquet tables and benches form long lines in this large chamber. On a raised platform stands a large ceramic bowl, covered in runes and full of a greenish-yellow substance.
At the top of the room near a raised dias stands three orcs, 2 male and 1 female. It appears the female is the one in charge as she speaks out to you as you enter.
"Pink skins...your light gave you away...what do you want here? Leave us and begone!"
She has bone studded leather on and an empty potion bottle in her left hand...
The male orcs hold scimitars and have what appears to be drums looped over their shoulders...
Delio PFS
|
Delio shakes his head. "I fear we may. Orcs in Ustalav will be up to nothing to benefit its people, so if these creatures do not return to Belkzen immediately their lives are forfeit." He addresses the marauders. "That is your choice; we will not interfere if you return peacefully." The aasimar leaves the second half of the conditional unspoken.
Diplomacy check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Segray Starnon
|
Segray nods and looks at the orcs cramped in their cave.
"We may both benefit if you leave peacefully. You are not home. We only seek an artifact." she says on a peaceful manner.
Auto-aid for Delio's diplo check.
Balomar
|
"Iomedae says that all life is sacred, even that of the lowest of low. Leave in peace..." the paladin says rather curtly and then points to the exit.
Auto-aid for diplomacy as well.
Zora Draznoi
|
Zora blinks dispassionately from the rear of the party. "Interesting. Pharasma holds no life sacred. The goddess welcomes orcs to her boneyard as easily as she does any other race. If these three wish to meet her quickly, I suppose they may indeed choose to fight us, while outnumbered two to one."
The Pharasmin spreads her hands. "Or they may walk away, as the others have offered. To live long lives in their own lands. To delay the inevitable audience before the gray queen."
Diplomacy of her own: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
| GM Qwerty |
"KILL THE PINK SKINS!" the female orc yells to the male orcs as all manners of diplomacy fail, and they all move towards you in a threatening manner...

I changed the starting location so that Miji was in front with Delio, as that's been his default so far.
Miji charges the talkative one, striking a pose mid-air as he stylishly takes the stairs in a single leap. Let's see Delio top that! "Ignore the stuffy one. Justice and righteousness can wait in line while you face me!"

Sorry, I'm waiting on Delio as I don't wanna cast a spell in an almost empty room. Just waiting to see what he does.
Delio PFS
|
Sorry; in meetings all morning.
Delio advances along the wall, preparing to attack the red orc if it approaches him.
Held attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
After that roll, I hope it keeps its distance.
Segray Starnon

Segray follows Delio and begins to cast a spell, singing a soft melody.
Casting Sleep. Since it's a 1 round casting time, it will use my standard from the next turn. When it goes off, it'll be a Will DC 21 or fall asleep.

apologies- still fighting through a bad bout of the flu
Delio and Segray move forward and notice out the of the corner of their eye the female orc appears to be shaken by the display of bravado exhibited by Miji...
she is not shaken for the rest of her life, but for a couple of rounds
The female orc takes a step back and then swings at Miji with her armored fist...mwk cestus: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 2 = 18...DMG: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5... which misses the man...

Zora casts bless on everyone minus Miji who is just outside of the spell range...
Benedict buffs up an moves closer..
Seeing their female leader hurt the two orcs move in to attack Miji...purple starts drumming with one hand as a standard action to bring about inspiring orcish courage and then takes a 5ft step to block Miji from the female...

Double Move for a total of 40'

With that, Segray's spell eventually goes off. She aims the left corner, only targeting the female orc and the purple-clad one.
Sleep: will DC 21
Zora Draznoi

(My bad, didn't realize Miji was more than 50 feet away from me for the bless. I didn't use my move action on that turn so if you'll allow the retcon to have stepped ten feet further in the room, I will, if not, no worries, it was my mistake for not counting!)

I still have an action, right? Was just waiting to see the results of Segray's turn.
Miji frowns at the collapsing orcs. No! The fear in her eyes was so palpable! "Well, that sucks all the life out of this party," Miji turns to the remaining enemy, "Guess I'll just have to drain the life out of you instead!"
Miji adds a rather large hole to the orc's abdomen, then purposely turns his back on the creature. If I avoid the AoO, just dance away and then back into combat. If I don't avoid it, parry and riposte.

Seeing the foes are well in hand, Zora simply moves in a few feet and observes. Miji's injury does not appear life threatening.
Double move. Also the map lists Zora has mage armor, I don't think that's accurate. Someone else probably has that buff.

Probably someone put it instead of Segray, which I eventually added myself.
