The woman answers your questions;

"I was only recently recruited into the Corpse Fleet and know little of their activities. I traveled aboard a vessel called the Endless Threnody that picked up the distress call of a Starfinder vessel. The Corpse Fleet ship traveled to the Starfinder vessel’s crash site on a desert planet and acquired several treasures, including the Starfinder insignias. Before the Endless Threnody could get into the Drift, it was surprised and crippled by a pirate ship identified as the Lawblight. The Endless Threnody now floats in the Drift, unable to leave, and I was dispatched to acquire repair materials. Here let me show you"

She very slowly and carefully takes out a datapad and shows the Endless Threnody’s current location.

I don't know the coordinates of the crashed Starfinder vessel (or even the name of the world it was on), I know those coordinates are in the files of the Endless Threnody’s navigational computer."

"Well, that was helpful," Obozaya says.

NPCs live or die at 0 based on GM fiat: basically, if you want the PCs to be able to rescue them, they're unconscious/dying, if their survival adds nothing to the scenario, they can be dead.

Scarab Sages

The mercs living or dying doesn't matter for the story..so they died, unless someone really wants to try to save their lives, in which case you manage to bring them back from the brink of dead

I'm assuming that you guys are done here and will report back to the Venture-Captain? Or does anyone have something that they'd like to do now?

Ready to report

Scarab Sages

As you return to the Lorespire to report to Venture-Captain Arvin and tell him everything you discovered from the woman you just fought;

"I am pleased with you for following up on this lead so quickly. I'd like you to follow-up on this mystery and find the Endless Threndoy."

"I also encourages you to keep the Starfinder insignias for now they can be usefull

He explains their basic function;
Although it appears to be an ordinary medal showing the symbol of the Starfinder Society, this insignia can store as much information as a common tier-1 datapad. Unless told about this secret, a non-Starfinder must succeed at a DC 20 Perception or Sense Motive check to realize the insignia is a storage device.

This concludes the first quest. In case someone wants to opt out;provide me with your reporting info and I'll send you a chronicle with only the first quest checked, other wise moving on to the next quest

Scarab Sages

Assuming you accept the Venture-Captains proposal in investigating further you meet him the next morning back at the Lorespire after recovering from your fight at the Vat gardens.

Venture-Captain Arvin stands next to the entry ramp of a sleek-looking starship. He waves his hands over the side of the starship affectionately.

“This is the Loreseeker, a Pegasus-class ship that’s one of the fastest and lightest in the Society’s fleet."

“We know that a lost Starfinder vessel, the Unbounded Wayfarer, was discovered by undead creatures from a starship called the Endless Threnody. We’ve pulled some strings with our more reputable Eoxian contacts to get more information, they’ve disavowed knowledge of the Endless Threnody entirely; this likely confirms our suspicions that the Endless Threnody is connected with the Corpse Fleet, a group of Eoxian separatists who refuse to work alongside the living."

“We have the location of the Endless Threnody in the Drift, courtesy of that ghoul you tracked down. Its Drift engine is incapacitated, so it’s unable to escape the Drift. Take the Loreseeker into the Drift, cripple the Eoxian ship—as a Corpse Fleet vessel, they won’t be open to negotiations—and recover the location of the lost Starfinder vessel.”

Travel within the Drift to the site of the Endless Threnody takes 5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 2, 6) = 20 days during which time you get to know the ship and it's controls.

When you arrive at the coordinates provided by The ghoul you defeated, the Endless Threnody is not present.

You need to do a scan to try to locate the enemy ship

The science officer of the Loreseeker should attempt a Computers check, applying the +2 modifier from the Loreseeker’s sensors.

Since you currently have no science officer (unless you want to place Xanthis there by default)..anyone can abandon their current station/position and move there to do the scan. You could even use assists since you are not currently in combat you won't loose your action for the round for doing so

It seems the ship you are after is trying to move around by it's thrusters alone and it takes a few scans of the area to track it's exhaust fumes but when you do you see;

The Eoxian freighter is a massive vessel made of bone and steel. The front of the ship is a single enormous red lens, appearing as a sullen, bloody eye. The ship bristles with bone protrusions, as though it were some horned, skeletal beast.
Some of the bones are charred and broken, indicating past battle damage. Laser cannons protrude from the front and sides of the freighter; but its rear weapon mounts are a twisted wreck. Gaps between the bones show the ship’s interior, but this is not from battle damage—this ship was never intended to accommodate living creatures.

You also identifies some significant damage sustained by the Endless Threnody in its fight against the pirates.

3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) = 12

I haven't found a better way to indicate facing yet..so on the map you are the red arrow, the enemy is the blue arrow

You can see what your roles does in the link: ship roles

As gear 2.0 slams on the gas the enemy ship takes notice and starts to slowly turn in response.

So first up is engineering; no need to repair anything right now so I think we can skip that this round

Then Helm, based on piloting we determine we moves first, I'll use Gear's check for initiative

Init enemy ship: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

You win, so enemy ship moves first..it starts to turn about and head in your direction.

Speed is in hexes btw, and how you can move is based on the type of action you take to move (under ship stunt - require a piloting check to see if you pull it off)...but simply moving in a sort of line doesn't require a check. You can turn 1 facing for every 2 hexes you move.

Obozaya frowns as the ship rocks from the blast. She glances over her shoulder to check on her companions for a moment, then returns her attention to the gunnery terminal. "Try to avoid another hit like that. Maybe some evasive maneuvers?"

Fire at Will:

Coil Gun, Duonode, FAW: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 4
Light Laser, Duonode, FAW: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 4

Obazaya screams a loud curse in Vesk.

Scarab Sages

Oboyaza fires 2 series of shots in return to the enemies fire, but ends up firing at some distant star instead of his intended target

Lady Onix and Xanthis try to help out with both the engineering section and the plotting of the course.

As a tip from me; Lady Onyx might want to try to go to the science officers desk next turn and try to re balance the shields, it's a computers check..and it won't give you more shielding..but it lets you put it where you want it. In case you fail to restore some shields to your damaged side. Or maybe try a scan for information about the enemy vessel - also a computer check. Or even a target system; I'm not 100% sure how it works..but other then giving your next hit a crit range of 19-20 instead of just 20 it also let's you choose what part of the enemy ship you want to deal critical damage too..which as far as I can tell also happens when you deal a certain threshold of hull damage..so if you manage to deal enough damage after a targeting scan..you could damage the enemies heavy laser..instead of a random part (for example)
