Bunk Envoy of Balance |
"Maybe the keys are somewhere else on the other direction..."
Bunk says this and hopes the rest of the group won't remember about him voting to go left.
"Do you think it could be a good idea to break the door?"
Iskar |
Sure, now he wants to go that way...
Iskar grins as he looks towards Bunk, "What about that crystal in the other room? Would it be the right size?"
Zaas |
"I'll attempt to retrieve it for you."
With a gleeful smile, Zaas heads back to the previous room. Grabbing the crystal gently with his mouth, he trots back to the group in front of the strange door.
Assuming nothing prevents him from doing this that is
GM Karma |
And so Zaas goes back to the previous room, and takes the crystal. No harm befalls on him, but he notices the light in the room originates from the shard. So once he takes the crystal, the light follows.
And just as Iskar thought, the crystal fits perfectly to the hole on the left side of the door.
Iskar |
"I'll keep an eye on you from here my friend."
Iskar closes his eyes and leans back against the wall.
Activated 'Bond Sense' as a standard
Upon Zaas return, Iskar opens his eyes and asks mischievously, "So, who has some blood to spare?". Winking at his companions, he advises "If it's preferred I could possibly summon a creature to supply us with some. However, people tend to get queasy when such...offerings are performed and it would take a bit for my to coax my friend back to this realm. My only real concern is we don't know how much blood is required to activate this."
Ended Bond Senses

Upon Zaas return, Iskar opens his eyes and asks mischievously, "So, who has some blood to spare?". Winking at his companions, he advises "If it's preferred I could possibly summon a creature to supply us with some."
"Creepy." Shonne says. Then she stabs her thumb with an arrow.
She casts see invisibility, followed by bull's strength on herself. If she takes damage from blood loss she uses her wand of cure light wounds
GM Karma |
Shonne squeezes a few drops of her blood to the hole but nothing happens. Perhaps a shard is needed for this hole as well.
If you check the map, you can see you have one door unexplored in southwest
Iskar |
Iskar considers the door for a moment. "Well be right back"
he casts message on his companions
Iskar and Zaas proceed to walk to the other door and examine it. Iskar nods to his companion. He hands the tools over, casts a spell, and steps back.
Guidance on Zaas, Prepares to cast grease in front of the door if he sees anyone inside.
Zaas |
Disable device: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 25
GM Karma |
From the description I take it Zaas goes first?
Going back via the southern hallway doesn't take too long. Very soon the corridor starts to turn right, and Zaas can see the familiar statue further along the corridor. The unexplored door lies on the left side of the corridor, and the eidolon and it's master can see the door is ajar. Zaas approaches the door carefully. But just he is about to reach it, a magical trap discharges, and a vertical curtain of whirling blades shaped of pure force springs into existence, slashing and cutting all around the eidolon.
Isabella and Iskar were following close by, but far enough to halt before moving into the wall of blades. The way to the door is blocked by the barrier, unless one is willing the brave the whirling blades.
Force damage, DC 19 ref save to negate: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 6, 1, 5, 6, 1) = 31
Will Zaas move into the room, or jump backwards away from the spell's area?
The barrier doesn't prevent movement, so anyone can move through the barrier if s/he wants. But in that case takes the damage from the blades (Ref save to halve the damage instead of negating)
Adeah Silversong |
"So we have to pass through this to get any farther... and then pass through it again to get into the room? Hey Summonee," she calls out to Zaas, "you see any way of turning these things off?"
Iskar |
A sly smile crosses Iskar's face. With a quick motion of the hands and a few words he casts a spell on Zaas. "Go my friend. We should be able to handle this. Let me know when you have what we need."
Iskar cast Life Conduit on himself
Zaas |
With a nod to his friend, the strange being leaps through the blades, into the room.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Means eidolon takes half damage? So...15, right?
Once inside Zaas looks around the room for any more hazards or crystal type items.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
"I'm in Iksar, I'll let you know what I find" he hollers back through the doorway.
Iskar |
After hearing Zaas respond, a green light swirls around the half orc. A strange wound appears on his arm. Closing his eyes, he lets out a soft sigh. "There you go, that should help some."
Life Conduit Transfer: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Tranfered 1d6 hp to eidolon as from the spell
GM Karma |
@Zaas: the successful save negates the damage when the spell is cast on target. So no damage taken. Besides, don't Eidolons have evasion? :)
Zaas nimbly dodges the magical blades, bashes the door open, and jumps into the room. The walls of the chamber are smooth black marble; a fist-sized black stone set in a niche in the eastern wall seems to absorb light. A small crystal shard glows with an eerie purple light at the apex of the angled ceiling. Shades of faint movement skitter across the far wall. Something in the shadows growls menacingly, and the faint lights reveals a rows of pointy teeth. From the shadows emerges a creature shrouded in swirling gray cloud, it's sharp claws scratching the floor as it prepares to attack.

Iskar |
Oh, yeah. They do... lol. Disregard my previous post please Mr GM. No HP traded out quite yet. :-D
Zaas |
"Iskar, the shard is in the ceiling. There's something in here to deal with!"

Adeah tries to dart through the swords and into the room. Once there, she takes cover behind a jutting wall.
GM Karma |
Just one save, but even with successful save take half damage
Adeah force damage: 8d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5) = 27 Halved to 13
Zaas studies the creature carefully, and spots a dim glowing rune on it’s forehead. And then it dawns to him - the creature is Zaas. Some twisted, shadowy version of him.
When Isabella and Adeah tumble through the wall of blades to the room, two more shadow creatures appear from the darkness. These are humanoid, slender feminine figures, who lurk near the walls with feral looks on their faces.
None of the shadow creatures approach the Pathfinders. All three just stand there, growling and waiting.
Round 1 & 2

=> Bunk
Next up: Everyone
Shonne |
*sigh.* What's taking them so long?
"Wait here. Do not touch anything."
Zaas |
"They are reflections of us." advises Zaas. "I think I see the shard we need. Iskar, call me back in a moment. Those blades wouldn't do you any good."
Zaas takes off for the eastern wall.
Assuming he makes it and is able to do as follows...
Prying the stone from its resting place, he bellows "Now!"
Again assuming this is all plausible, Iskar would then use Maker's Call ability to teleport the eidolon to him as a standard. The eidolon would ignore all enemies, using as much of a single move as required to accomplish this.
Isabella Aldori |
Isabella takes a step forward, curious to see what her body double does. She is expecting an attack and is ready to counter it.
Ready an attack, to trigger when she gets, see spoiler for rolls
Readied Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 5 = 20
Parry: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
Riposte: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 5 = 17
GM Karma |
@Zaas: the black stone in the eastern wall is fist-sized, and thus much larger than the previous shard. The glowing crystal in the ceiling is similar size as the earlier shard. Which one he is trying to get?
Isabella steps closer, and finds her shadow double doing the same. Just like the original, the shadow-swashbuckler keeps it's blade ready to strike anyone coming too close. Only difference is the feral grin on the double's face.
Adeah Silversong |
"Curiouser and curiouser." Adeah keeps her musket ready but pointed at the floor and steps out, poised to grant her allies some cover fire if necessary.
Ready an action against the first shadow that attacks.
Zaas |
Ah, misunderstood the size descriptions. If possible he'll attempt to get the one from ceiling. climb: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Shonne |
Bunk runs through the corridor.
"Bunk, where is Valais?" Shonne's voice, not often used, nonetheless comes out as sharp and stinging as an arrow shot from her bow. "You!" She directs impatiently at Iskar. "What is going on?"
GM Karma |
Valais had obeyed Shonne's command to stay put, and stands restlessly by the heavy double door. Every so often she gives the door a hefty kick and tries to open the door by force.
Back in the room of shadows, Zaas runs up the wall, and leaps for the glowing shard. Just as the crystal is secured in his claws, Zaas disappers from the room and reappears next to his master.
Along with the eidolon, disappears also his shadow duplicate. Only two shadows remain, replicating Isabella and Adeah, who are trapped between the shadows and the wall of blades. Still, none of the shadow creatures actually attack.
Round 3: Next up everyone
Adeah Silversong |
"So that's it then? What about the other stone?"
GM Karma |
The black stone is still there, and would be absorbing light if there was any... BTW, since the shard was the light source in this room, it's now dark. But I think Isabella had a light source of her own?
Adeah Silversong |
Adeah has darkvision, so unless it becomes supernaturally dark she wouldn't be hampered.
Isabella Aldori |
Yep, continual flame heightened to spell level 3
"I don't know Adeah, do we need to grab that stone as well? It is much bigger than the other shard we found earlier and does not seem to fit in the hole. I think we might want to head back to the others, but I do not relish the idea of moving through those blades again"
Adeah Silversong |
"Neither do I, but if they don't think we need this thing, then that doesn't leave us much choice. You go first, I'll cover you."
Bunk Envoy of Balance |
Bunk runs towards the room.
Ref Roll, I s'pose
Bunk Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Oi! What did I miss!?"
Iskar |
As Bunk runs past the duo, Iskar states, "Seems some magic in that room created doubles of those in there. Zaas grabbed the stone he thinks we need and returned to me. There's a bigger rock if you think it's required."
Isabella Aldori |
"Bunk, we were just preparing ourselves to pass through the blades again..." Isabella responds while she uses her wand on herself.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
GM Karma |
As Bunk enters the room, a shadow double emerges from the eastern wall. Just like the others, it is a aggressive, feral version of Bunk.
It becomes evident that the shadow creatures are not about to attack, so we can exit initiative order. But the creatures are still there
GM Karma |
Almost forgot, Bunk took full damage from the blades
Force damage: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 4, 2, 2, 6, 5) = 34
Shonne |
"BLAST! BUNK DON'T GO IN-" *WHIRL, BUZZ, FOLD, SPINDLE, HACK, SLASH, PERFORATE!*
As Bunk enters the room, a shadow double emerges from the eastern wall. Just like the others, it is a aggressive, feral version of Bunk.
Shonne grits her teeth and covers her face with her hands.
Isabella Aldori |
"So do we want to take that other shard with us or not? I am not a spellcaster and have no idea if it can be of use..."
Bunk, do you care to identify the second shard?
