For clarity, there's no lightning bouncing between the two columns on the map, is there?
Assuming the path is clear...
Roscoe charges head on, leading the assault.

GM Dinuci |

You won't get zapped! ^^
Falshin picks up a rock and throws it, the rock being lopsided swirls off into the wall instead of its target. Doran moves up to the target before Roscoe nearly jumps on top of the fake lady Arodeth, getting in a deep cut.

Knowledge ?: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Knowledge question: Is this thing immune to mind-affecting spells?

GM Dinuci |

She is not Immune! And sorry for not mentioning it! They look to be tesla coil type machines, so walking through them was a gamble!
Syndra blasts the woman with an acid blast before she gets to act. jumps back, gets out a quarterstaff and moves her hand over it. It suddenly seems better crafted than before.

GM Dinuci |

Verhaal starts her inspiring song. Falshin throws another lopsided rock, causing a diversion, making an opening for Doran who scores a solid hit. Using the distraction syndra blinds and stuns the woman, causing her to drop her weapon. Roscoe misses his attack as she regains her footing.

The green dome overhead ripples and flexes, visibly weakened but still present. The same woman’s voice from earlier booms from everywhere and nowhere at once.
“This… this isn’t what I wanted. I wanted a world with purpose again—with certainty. But I suppose there is no greater way to die than in the same fiery cataclysm that marked Aroden’s first step toward divinity. Join me in martyrdom, Pathfinders, and try to die with some dignity.”
Tables, we no longer need any anchors successes! All that's left is to retake the vault!

![]() |

missed that...man i failed that perception roll...lol
Doran stands over the simulacrum. He drops his shield and runs his sword through it with both hands.
cdg: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (8, 2) + 12 = 22is that ok boss? if not disregard this post.

GM Dinuci |

Verhaal shoots the helpless woman, followed by Doran performing a coup. He tears through the woman, dropping her to the ground.
Rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Another one of the fake lady Arodeth is already forming. Damaging the machine or sabotaging it could delay the new creation.
30 Dmg on the machine or DC 15 Disable device to delay 1 round.
We're almost at the end... Did you guys enjoy the game? For me the end was a bit weak compared to the rest of the scenario.

![]() |

"Let's see if we can fix the source of the problem?" asks Roscoe, rhetorically, in a soft voice as he moves towards the machine to see what key pieces it can do without.
disable device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

![]() |

Disable Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Falshin looks closely at the machine, noticing that he may very well be able to sabotage it to delay the additional summons. He spots Roscoe's failed attempts and makes such to spend a little extra time to ensure his own success. "Roscoe, perhaps you should aid the others in combat. I will handle this machine."

![]() |

Jimmy has no idea what's going on and why his allies are suddenly messing with the machine, but he figures he'll just go along and smash it.
Heavy Flail, PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 1 = 8 Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 3 = 18
Seeing as Falcon managed to delay the machine a round:
Jimmy continues to smash the machine.
Heavy Flail, PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 1 = 22 Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 3 = 14

GM Dinuci |

Jimmy looks surprised at the machine when it seems to be repaired, a few seconds after each hit.
You have a total of 2 turns to prepare for the next fight, deduct the actions that you have already taken. The machine is trapped in a time bubble and you are unable to destroy it in a single turn, after which it repairs to working order. I'll roll for the fight, please post what happened in those two round in a spoiler.
You manage to stall the machine for a few moment but it keeps producing the next clone. After a round or two a fully formed one stands in front of you again.
You may move into combat positions when the body is formed, see comment above. You would cut her down either way but this may be a bit faster ;P
Combat round 1:
- Syndra
- Roscoe
- Jimmy
- Lady Arodeth
- Doran
- Verhaal
- Falshin
In bold may act!
Ini Falshin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Ini Syndra: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Ini Jimmy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Ini Verhaal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Ini Doran: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Ini Roscoe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Ini Aro: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Two things, first, are we acquiring points each time we kill her, and do we need more for the adventure to end? Second if we don't need more points, can we just tie her up to prevent more from spawning? Or we could always go talk to boss lady as we have like one day left to be done.
Syndra will move to this position and cast color spray. DC 17 will save
stunned and blind: 1d4 ⇒ 1
stunned an additional round
in my off round i'll cast shield on myself.

As Pathfinders defeat the furious simulacra, they disperse into foul mist that screams in anger before fading away entirely. Nearby, the true Lady Arodeth seems shaken by the destruction of her miasmic doppelgangers, and their deaths seem to sap her of her zealous rage.
Table GMs, this is Code Green. Code Green is in effect.

GM Dinuci |

You guys find the edges of the rules, and trample over them! ;P It gives points but talking with our lovely lady arodeth is more important I think. Code green made it easier for us to do the challenge so I'm moving you on.
Just before the simulacra is able to form completely Jimmy runs up to it and winds it in rope, tying it off the moment she appears.
You rush into the other room and find the slightly subdued lady Arodeth waiting for you. Heavy walls and strange panels in this room all focus on the strange orrery in its center. Raised on a small dais, and separated from the rest of the room by a wide trench, the device oozes a thick, emerald light. The air smells of ozone, like standing amid a roaring thunderstorm.
The woman in front of you is Lady Arodeth herself. She seems unsure about everything happening around her.
"What is happening outside? All of the anchors seem... Gone? You have convinced them... Am I wrong in what I did? Is all of this wrong? My actions could have led to a better world! Spared untold millions of people from suffering... But you seem to have convinced everyone else that this is not the case. What have you told them."
You can use the following skills in order to persuade Lady Arodeth away from her destructive path, rekindle her sense of duty, or recall some of the beauty in the world despite the absence of fate and prophecy: Bluff, Diplomacy, Heal, Knowledge (history, nobility, or religion), Perform (any), Profession (any), and Sense Motive. You cannot use the same skill more than once, though other PCs can use that skill. The DC's have been lowered and you may fail a single check more than before! Good luck!

![]() |

I have profession - merchant that was used as an alias for Roscoe's work. However, I fail to see how this is useful in this situation. I'm going to allow the others with more traditional skills here...

Syndra spends precious seconds concentrating on the future working to see if she can see words that may help her talk with Lady Arodeth activating prescience . Lady Arodeth, we come from a time other than this. We know how this plays out and the massive amount of destruction that will happen if you continue to pursue this path. It is noted in the religious texts, and have informed our generation of religious values that have caused downfalls of societies. It has changed and not for the better the noble lines. There are other better ways, and the anchors have listened to our reasoning, our knowledge, and have seen the reason in our words. Will you do the same? Can you not see the beauty that exists in this world now?
Heightened Awareness is activated giving a +2 bonus to all my knowledges
Prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Knowledge History: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Knowledge Nobility: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

The asteroid looms impossibly large overhead, and the air grows stiflingly hot as the world itself begins to rumble. High overhead, the dome of green energy shudders, twists, and finally shatters, and Pathfinders’ bodies begin melting into flowing particles as the world slips away.
Just as quickly, you stumble as Bloodwatered Meadow coalesces beneath your feet, as it does for countless other Society agents. The wildflowers bob lazily in the wind, and nothing but a few still bodies stand as testament to the bloodshed and struggle of the past five hours. Kreighton Shaine, looking several years older, staggers to his feet and gives a nervous chuckle before climbing up a small knoll and waving his arms for the crowd’s attention.
“What we have all witnessed here today has been a remarkably journey that included sights no living soul on Golarion has witnessed. The Sky Key has allowed us to walk among the serpentfolk and Azlanti, gazing upon several of the greatest events to shape Golarion and the region that would one day become the Inner Sea. Let the catastrophe that we witnessed and narrowly escaped humble us and teach us so that we might find value in preserving the messages and wisdom those lost people may have left behind for us to discover. I think we all have some responsibility to remember those who passed so that our modern world can exist.
“You have all observed great things and have notes to share. This much is certain. But for now, let us… let us simply take a few days to reflect. The Society, I imagine, will send agents to collect your notes and interview you about your experiences. Until then, find your families and loved ones, as I know I shall. Failing that, find some passion that ties you to the here and now, and embrace it.
“We survived, Pathfinders. I am proud of your Unrivaled Accomplishment!”

Congrats everyone. The stakes haven't been higher for a PbP Special, but everyone rose to the occasion. I've been watching the successes come in on the Google form and it's been exciting watching you inch closer and closer to the goal! There have certainly been some super tables out there, but it's fairly clear that everyone has been working hard and contributing to the group success. I'm super proud of you guys.
At this point, you have a chance to perform Downtime activity and roll for boons. Because the house earned an Unrivaled Accomplishment, everyone gets their Secondary Success Condition.
I'd like to send a big thank you to all of the players for participating in this event, and a big thank you to all the GMs who ran this. Running and playing in the Play-by-Post specials are a lot of work in a short time, and you rose to the challenge.
If you have any feedback about how this was run at all, please either email me at jmcteague@pathfindersocietyonline.com, or email Jesse at jesse@pathfindersocietyonline.com

GM Dinuci |

Congrats everyone! You probably would've convinced her to give in but another group went before you! Still, you have deserved it! :)
