Sorry but I gotta back up here a second.. She auto knows that was a Symbol of Vulnerability when it goes off. Is it a Permanent Symbol or is it gone now that its used? Was there no warning from Foresight?
Regardless she would have taken the actions below..
Avoreal would halt the group as the Symbol goes off.. "If we back out of sight of the symbol we can wait for the effects to wear off and then i can teleport us beyond the doors.." This takes what 2 minutes to wear off?
Let me know if you think this action un-doable or not advisable? With her knowing what the spell is and its duration I dont think her actions are unwarranted.. There's certainly nothing making them open the doors before the symbol runs its coarse..
Regardless Will for when its time: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36

![]() |

Trotter: The symbol goes off as soon as you're within eye sight of it, so the way I read it in the AP, there's no way around it.
Vuvu: Sure, I thought you would be invisible. She sees you, however, so it has no bearing on the spell she's just cast. The demodand has DR 10/good and magic and resist cold/fire 10, immunity to acid.
Avoreal: As said above to Trotter, it comes into play the moment you have a chance to see it. It lasts for a while (200 minutes), and the matryoshka doesn't want you to wait lest Elvanna completes the ritual in time. I'll adjudicate that your foresight allowed you not to step in the spell's reach and thus avoids you (and you alone) the penalties imparted by the spell. However, the spell has a reach going well into the room where Elvanna is, so the only thing I could think of that would spare you these penalties is to teleport further than the spell's reach in the room where the BBEG is. The way it has been written in the AP, I don't think it can be avoided.
Everyone: please check your SR roll in my previous post: if that roll didn't beat your SR (for those who have one) then you don't need to make a Will save. Vars, I think you have SR 12+ your level, so with a roll of 22 Elvanna can't beat it. You can act.
Vars: It seems you haven't posted in the Discussion thread. Could you post your PFS #, Faction, Day Job roll, please?

Yeah, I suppose that didn't pass my SR. Phew. I assume the doors are open, or we wouldn't see all that.

Vars resists Elvanna's evil influence, and carves the first elemental, almost destroying it with a few well-aimed blows!
Initiative - round 1 - bold may act!
1. Queen Elvanna
2. Vars, Devin
3. Ice Elementals, Elvanna's Bodyguards
4. Avoreal, Trotter, Vuvu, Duhwoo
For the bowing ones, remember you're entitled to a re-save as a full-round action.

![]() |

Thats fair.. If the symbol was on the door it would only be facing outwards right? With the doors open would it even be facing down the hall now? Just trying to best pick my action.

![]() |

Is it possible to activate my luck while still under the influence of the spell?

![]() |

It's not Trotter's turn yet so I didn't want to roll prematurely. If he can still activate his luck during his turn he has a +3 to saves though.

![]() |

Running a con this weekend so a bit slow.
With the -4 to SR, my SR does not stop the spell.
Will: 1d20 + 21 - 4 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 21 - 4 - 1 = 31
Devin will activate his aura of heroism as a swift, sacrifice his SR to take a statue and cast deathward on himself.

![]() |

The spell reads "Once triggered, the symbol remains active for 10 minutes per level. The effects last as long as the creature is within 60 feet of the symbol, and for 1 round per caster level afterward." so even if you'd leave the area, it would still be active. However, if you teleport directly into the room and haven't been within eyesight of the symbol, I'd say this doesn't apply to you - you'd be safe from its effects in my opinion.
Trotter: activating luck is a swift action, so my guess is that it won't be possible since you're considered to be helpless for the duration of the spell.
Here are the statue's stats. You get to act immediately with it, if you wish. I've added a token for you.
By the way, could you make your Day Job check in the Discussion thread, please?

With the guardian's DR, it hits twice for a total of 67 damage I think.
One of the demodand, seeing the fighter so well-protected, aims a greater dispel magic at Vars.
Dispel check : 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 That won't dispel anything, unless you have a Clvl 6 or less from a potion/item perhaps. I'll let you check your active spells and tell me if it dispels anything, but I doubt it.
The other demodand casts acid fog, not only inflicting minor wounds to you as well as the elementals, but also slowing everyone down in the area.
Inflicting 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 acid damage to everyone in the area (all the elementals and everyone in the party except Avoreal. Moreover, creatures moving through a solid fog move at half their normal speed and take a –2 penalty on all melee attack and melee damage rolls. The vapors prevent effective ranged weapon attacks (except for magic rays and the like). A creature or object that falls into acid fog is slowed so that each 10 feet of vapor that it passes through reduces the falling damage by 1d6. A creature cannot take a 5-foot-step while in acid fog. Finally, the fog obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature within 5 feet has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker can't use sight to locate the target).

I believe Devin put up Communal Resist Acid as we entered the Kurgan so that should be still rolling..
Weighing her options she decides to eat the symbol and try to end the queen.. Avoreal moves up 15' to get a better look at the queen and casts Persistent Flesh to Stone(DC 31 Fort). If she makes it roll again..
She burns a charge from her piercing rod as well..
SR: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (17) + 29 = 46

![]() |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you must be able to see your target to cast that spell. Currently, with the fog, you can't see past 5 feet. True Seeing won't help because it doesn't see through fogs (see the spell's description).

Devin will maintain his Heroism Aura as he follows the wall to the door, where he will fly south out of the fog.
He will shunt the non-awed Demodand into his Kimono
Whenever a creature is drawn inside the kimono, the victim’s image temporarily manifests as another embroidered design among the kimono’s other images. While a victim is trapped inside, the kimono’s bonuses on saving throws and caster level checks are increased by 2 (to +6). The kimono’s increased bonuses return to normal when the victim is freed or released.
Devin will follow up with a Quickened Prayer.
You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a -1 penalty on such rolls. No save, SR applies.

Meanwhile Devin's Statue will continue its assault on the queen.

as a swift action, Duhwoo once again snaps his wand o' D-Door back out its spring-loaded wrist sheath, and his standard action (all he's allowed whilst staggered) is using the wand to pop himself to a spot with his back to the wall, adjacent to where he last saw of the queen before the fog blocked his vision...
then he'll rage as a free action, activating Power Attack, Reckless Abandon, and "Come and Get Me"!

![]() |

You suppose well, the overwhelming presence came from her crown and wasn't from her spell list, hence the low DC for a 20th-level witch. Also, destruction is an 8th-level spell for a witch.
I *love* that kimono! I suggested it as a purchase for one of my players in my RotRL tabletop campaign, and he's also crazy about it! Probably one of my favourite items in the game!
Vars quickly dispatches the first elemental in line.
Devin opens the way to the garden of endless blossoms to the still valid demodand, making it disappear from view! His prayer also appears to affect all enemies on the battlefield... but what about his friends?
The fertility idol controlled by Devin slams into the Queen twice, sending tiny chips of her ice body flying around. She seems affected by the curse!

Avoreal used to have the Kimono until i realized you could only purchase it if you ran the module it was in.. Sucks because it is indeed very good.. The +4 to caster level for SR and Dispels is worth it alone..
Avoreal casts a spell and time stands still.. Casting Extended Time Stop via Greater Extend Rod
Rounds: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 x2 = 4 rounds
On her first round she casts Communal Pro Fire and moves to touch Vars and Duhwoo with it.. Not sure if they have SR so..
2d20 ⇒ (17, 3) = 20 Will actually fail vs Duhwoo if he choose the SR.. Not to worried with him blinking and Communal Resist 30 is up.. That is unless he got the -4 to SR debuff then i pass..
On her 2nd and 3rd rounds she'll set 2 Delayed Blast Fireballs up to go off the round her Time Stop ends. She burns 2 charges of her greater pen rod.. Placed a Template.. Will miss Devin but hit Vars and Duhwoo, hence the protection..
SR 1: 2d20 ⇒ (15, 10) = 25 +29 to rolls.. First is the Queen, 2nd Demo. The +29 will auto beat Vars and Duh's SR if they have it..

Sry for the big post but she had 4 rounds of stuff to do in one so ..
