Almost surprisingly the discouraged Pathfinders respond well to Antonella's cheer-up, though they appeared quite reluctant at first. "I don't know... shouldn't you ask someone with more experience? Well, you have a point there, lass. Cooperate? Wait, it isn't haunted, is it? Our last experience in Ustalav was... Aspis you say? Well, I suppose we could do something about it. Men, on your feet. Let's give these Aspis the taste of a good Pathfinder blade! Explore, Report, Cooperate!" he echoes after Tuna. With those inspiring words, the half-elf's team moves out, with the clear intent to fight for what they stand for.

At some distance, a gruff dwarf glares at you. Coming to you, he starts shouting. "Hey you! Yes, you lass! Who put you in charge? The Pathfinder charter clearly forbids Pathfinder agents to give orders to other field agents. We're all equals here. Don't you dare tell me what I should do! You're no Venture-Captain."

A Bluff or Knowledge (history) check could help with that task, trying to point out moments in Pathfinder history where such measures were needed.

“And not just in the Society, brother. We are all the Iro-shu, travelling the Path laid out before us to the Mountain’s Summit together.”

Being a paladin of a lawful deity, Antonella will not lie. However, she has no problem telling a true story in order to call the crabby dwarf’s bluff.

“However, I can tell you of one instance when a Pathfinder brother told me what to do and in doing so, certainly saved my life and perhaps the whole mission. Our party had boarded a Chelish pirate ship after many tribulations – including falls overboard, diabolical traps and shark-infested waters.”

Antonella smiles and *winks* at Stag, knowing he’s heard the story before.

“I was keen to take the fight to some creatures below deck, but some excellent instruction from a tactically-minded Living Monolith and a shrewd half-orc skald convinced me to not rush in, but let the creatures come to us. If I hadn’t ‘done as I was bid’ I would almost certainly be dead.”

The dwarf appears surprised by Antonella's argument, but he doesn't say anything except: "I... Aye, you're right I guess, lass. What do you need help with?"

And a few dozen steps further down the path...
You come across a band of Pathfinders who scowl at you as you approach the building known as the Repository. From the looks of it, they don't seem too pleased with guarding that place.

"Hey, you there! Come over here and take over, will you? This building needs to be guarded at all costs. There are far better uses for our team of considerable talent. Why don’t you guard the stone building with no doors and windows? We’ll capture that giant two-headed vulture!" argues their leader, a gorgeous aasimar dressed in embroidered silk robes.

Stag leaps into the center of the area and grabs Tuna's legs, carting her around the open grass area. "Waiter! I think these fools need the check because they're gettin' served!" yells Stag into the air.

After driving Tuna around, Stag releases her feet and begins to pop and lock in front of the a+$%*$@ Pathfinders. "Oh... yeah... suck it... In your face!" punctuates each movement.

Grand Lodge

The aasimar is flabbergasted by Tuna's acrobatics antics, but that hardly manages to convince her of anything. Unfortunately, neither Stag nor Rogar manage to make them understand the meaning of their duties.

"I knew we could count on you. We're off to slay the dragon!" and with those words, they abandon their post and disappear into the crowded mess of the Grand Lodge Yard.

A Pathfinder messenger - probably a new recruit by his looks - reaches you, panting. "Venture-Captain Ivulxtin sent me - there's trouble at the gates, you're needed there!"

Following him, you find yet another team of agents in dire need of leadership. A halfling girl looking completely at a loss for words or directions is there, clad in a scale armor so shiny and pristine that it has probably never seen any use in battle yet. She's the apparent leader of a band of five other agents who stand there, awaiting orders from her. Yet the orders do not come.

When she sees you, she almost throws herself in Stag's arms. "I'm so glad you came, you surely know what is to be done. There are Absalom city guards out there, but we've been ordered to stall them. The only thing is that I haven't got the slightest idea of what to do. I've been trained to dig archaeological sites, not meddle in city politics!"

Maybe a little pep talk could help here (Diplomacy). Alternatively, you may attempt the following roll:

Knowledge (local) DC 14:
You remember that the Grand Lodge was built in the Foreign Quarter for a reason; it has some of the privileges of an embassy. Meesha needs to be coached to tell the guards that if they want to tread across the campus, they’ll need a signed warrant from Lord Gyr first.

The following is just acting :)

Dipped awkwardly in Stag’s arms, the rapid, breathless movements of Antonella’s mouth and chest indicate the amount of creative effort she put into her Acro dancing.

She cannot believe it when their opponents simply walk away …

“Hey! HEY! I’m talking to you! We won the Dance Off! That means YOU LOST! That means you do what we say!”

She leaps away from the Bold Strider and storms after the aasimar, grabbing her by the shoulder and turning her around. “Do you know how many times I’ve used violence in my life to solve problems? DO YOU? And now I get the chance to solve a confrontation with non-violent, paladin-friendly, inspired-by-nature and stylishly-artistic methods and you DON’T ACCEPT IT!?!”

Antonella makes a small aside to her wizard companion. “Yes I know I’m ramble-ranting, Cally. But they cheated which is against every paladin-code I know.”

She returns to her rant. “How many chances do you think I’m going to get to defeat an opponent with a Dance-Off in my Pathfinder career? Exactly one – and that was it! But you know what? It’s fine. Fine. Fine. Fine. But you might just have put this paladin on the path to murder-hoboism, sister. Hope you’re satisfied.”

Antonella has calmed down by the time the party has arrived at the Grand Lodge’s gates. Amused by the halfling girl throwing herself at Stag, the priestess kneels down so she can make eye contact with the girl as she speaks with her.

“The City Guards haven’t undertaken Confirmation or any of the training that helps us deal with situations like this. Apart from that, they are no different from you or me.”

The paladin smiles as she continues. “So let’s put ourselves in their shoes. What do they want? Their job is to maintain order in the city and keep the citizens safe. Their bosses will be hounding them for reassurance that everything’s OK.”

“So just give them what they want and distract them with something that IS their responsibility.” The priestess concludes. “The citizens are safe at present. We have the aggressors contained. If we open the gates they WILL escape into the city. Perhaps someone should be preparing for that unlikely outcome?”

Antonella *winks* at the girl as she stands. “You can totally do this. Venture-Captain Ivulxtin wouldn’t have given you this task if he didn’t think you were up for it.”

Kalista moves closer to Rogar. "You ever get put with such interesting characters before? Not sure I have..."

Grand Lodge

Antonella's pep talk is just enough to give enough confidence to the young Pathfinder, but Stag's argument proves to be the weapon she'll have at her side. Rising to her feet, she moves forward with assurance, and manages to convince the guards that they won't be allowed to enter if no warrant is presented. The city guards grunt, but do not remain there for long, preferring to pull back for now.

"Wow, that was something!" says the now-enthusiastic agent. "That turned out pretty well, thanks to you! I think I'll be able to manage the task I've been assigned. I'm grateful for your words and advice."

And with that comes a third success, congratulations! Moving on to another scene.

The beauty of the Grand Lodge’s well-manicured grounds is shattered by the sounds of shouts and screams from panicked initiates, support staff, and visitors. Frightened innocents trip over hedges and stumble through fountains and pools in an effort to get to safety by the most direct means possible, especially when the landscaping otherwise leads them to certain peril.

If your character played Silent Tide, Song of the Sea Witch, or The Wounded Wisp:
You recognize the military historian Yargos Gill among those who are fleeing the scene.

Antonella throws two rapid karate zuki (left – right!) as she drones in her best paladin monotone. “Look at this, kitties. It’s very interesting.”

“How’s that, Stag?”

With a formidable blow, Rogar slays the red-furred pard!

Kalista's missile almost manages to kill of the other one. It lashes at the wizardess with its claws and fangs!
Bite (AoO since no defensive casting): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 191d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Unfortunately, Antonella and Stag both miss their mark.

Do we want to kill it? We could just try to subdue it and move on... I'm not confortable with killing kitties, even if they are overgrow and ferocious in the extreme... :P

As the first pard dies, Rogar mutters apologetically:"Sorry kitty but we cannot afford to deal with you properly..." before moving near its mate and slashing again, albeit wthis time with the flat of his blade...

With a flurry, Antonella defeats the last pard!

Out of combat! Both are technically unconscious, so if you want to stabilize them / heal them, it's completely up to you. I'll let you decide and heal up before we move on to the next encounter. I will need a new area though, since this one was the last possible encounter there.

I don't think the pard who was critically hit can be healed, the other one could be stabilized though, but Rogar can't do that

After the group decides what do do with the pard and heals up Rogar points up ahead:"We've better moving up quickly. If these kitties were freed I don't want to know what else could be roaming our grounds now"

I moved myself on the map (I thought) to avoid the AoO, but neglected to mention it in the text. Ah well.

Kalista shakes her head and tries to apply first aid to the living pard before focusing on herself.

She shakes the wand vigourously. "I swear I hadn't used it before. Is it out of charges already?"

The thunder of hooves nearby captures your attention as Seelah of Katapesh, Paladin of Iomedae, rides by. A host of Pathfinders in her wake spread out in every direction combing the area for enemies, Pathfinders in need, and the wounded.

Seelah draws up her steed, pulling it around to face you.

She says "Blessings and well met, Pathfinders! You look as if you have more trouble heading your way."

She tosses you lot a whistle, like the ones you've seen soldiers on the field of battle use to direct troops.

She then says "If you are ever in need of aid, blow the whistle and Pathfinders within earshot will come to your assistance."

With waiting for a response she turns her horse about and thunders back off into the fray without waiting for a response.

Overseer:
You now have an AID Token - GM please describe how to use the Aid Token - please use it and do not horde it ;b - And then pick a table to hand it off to (in character) when you report your next success after use - you can choose who does it, it does not have to be the GM - and then the GM should email me to let me know what table you passed it off to with a link to the handoff, when you report your next success - Thanks - Jesse[IronHelixx]

Grand Lodge

Kalista, your token wasn't moved on the map, hence the AoO.

Aid Token:
Once per encounter, any character at a table can use an Aid Token to assist the group in one of five ways described below. Once a table uses an Aid Token, the token grants no further benefit until the end of the encounter, at which point one of the players can pass the Aid Token to a neighboring table for them to use. It is very important that the players remember that there are a limited number of Aid Tokens, and hoarding one means that somebody else doesn’t get to use it. An Aid Token’s benefits can take one of the following
five forms.

Aid Another: A Pathfinder agent helps the PCs solve a puzzle, disable a trap, or accomplish some other task as if performing the aid another action for a PC.

Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as the PC, increasing the damage dealt by one attack by 1d8 points. In addition, after the attack, the target is considered to be flanked until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn.

Burst of Healing: A Pathfinder agent heals all of the PCs of 1d6 points of damage. Alternatively, the agent can instead cast neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease with a caster level equal to the table’s APL (minimum 5).

Spellcasting Synergy: A Pathfinder agent casts a spell at the same time, increasing the save DC and caster level of a PC’s spell by 1.

Timely Inspiration: A Pathfinder agent provides the effects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds. The competence bonus
is +1.

What's your decision on your new destination?

The woman behind the paladin briefly makes an appearance as Antonella stabilizes both pards. “I see underneath that rough, tough exterior you’re really a big softie, Rogar.”

Before the practical part of her personality reasserts itself. Hope it doesn’t get him killed some day …

“Possible.” Antonella deadpans, before using the wand to bring the elf to full health.

She *shrugs* “They misfire sometimes. Stag, can you use a CLW wand, or is it just me now?”

“Sing out if you need healing, Stag.”

"I got one, but I can't use the damn things." Stag responds. "Good thing that I never misfire." he says with a wink as he pivots his hip to show off his shiny sawn-off.

"Let's go secure the Wall of Names. It should be kept safe from any intruders." the Bold Strider suggests.

Grand Lodge

A quick check allows the Pathfinders to ascertain that the Wall of Names hasn't been attacked - quite a relief, for the monument is the testimony of the many sacrifices agents made to bring the Society to where it is now. However, there seem to be some agitation near the statue of Durvin Gest, not too far from there.

This tall statue is cast in the likeness of Durvin Gest, the most famous Pathfinder of all time. Carved in a likeness of the adventurer in his later years—still dashing and bearing an assortment of scrolls and adventuring gear—the statue stares intently off into the distance. Beneath the statue, pedestals stand adorned with angelic figures and elaborate friezes showing some of the more memorable scenes from the Pathfinder’s long and celebrated career. There, the angelic figures, moving, wreak havoc in the ranks of the Pathfinders and their guests alike.

Kalista flips through her mental rolodex of creatures to come to the entry for these things. "I know an animated object when I see one! They're too hard to hurt normally with weapons. And see if you can't use charms and enchantments! Oh! And most importantly, don't blink! Blink and you're dead! These things are fast! Faster than you can believe! A dull hum emanates from Skyreach as the ground trembles, trees sway, and glass shatters. A moment later, most of Skyreach’s northwest tower tears free from the keep; however, rather than crash to the ground, a visible aura holds the structure aloft and causes it to float above the Grand Lodge. Even the shower of stone blocks floats, swirling around the airborne tower in a nimbus of speeding debris.
