Enora walks into the room her companions have cleared.
"Well, that was...something. And who do we have here?" she asks as she looks at the prisoner.
Is he/she/it conscious?
DM Kludde
Help me, the shackled person, an elf, mutters. Weakened and pale, he is fully conscious.
Shardra Stonespeaker
Shardra approaches the elf.
"Look past my race, for I know we don't always agree with each other. I am Shardra, a pathfinder. Please tell me who you are, and know that we are here to help."
The dwarf reaches down, ready to offer healing to the battered elf.
DM Kludde
The name is Caldron. I am an outrider for the Shin’Rakorath. It means ‘Lantern Bearer’ in the tongue of my people. We make it our mission to keep the night safe from things like these creatures.
These creatures managed to take me by surprise while I was on patrol. I would call on my comrades to end this infestation, but I suspect they would not arrive soon enough to eradicate the creatures as they slither back into the darkness below.
Shardra Stonespeaker
"Then to succeed in our cause, it seems we can help you with yours. What other creatures hide in these walls? We are here to learn and explore. If helping you allows us to do the things we came to do, then you can count on us. Do you require healing? I can offer some."
Garox Fang

Garox can handle it with a take 10
"As easy as this little one." Garox says and uses his tools to release the chains in a short period.
DM Kludde
The creatures within these walls are foul—worse than the demons that they worship. Their leader has stolen important documents from this ruin. No matter your own motives—I will not assume that you are the sort to return the texts to Kyonin— anything is better than allowing those creatures to keep the documents
I would dearly love to take my revenge in person, but those creatures took care to remove a few choice fingers; I cannot fight effectively without them, but you are free to use any of my equipment that they might have been stolen. Take it as reward for my rescue. The creatures have put it there, in that recess behind the altar.
While the recess is very much where the elf points it out to be, it contains only money: a pouch containing ten Druman trade bars, 12 turquoise gems, and several thousand silver coins, but no sign of the elf's equipment.

Shardra casts detect magic to scan the room just to see if the gear is hidden.
"It is possible if your equipment was powerful enough, they have taken it to use themselves. Where are the rest of these evil creatures? We must not waste any time if we are to be sure we can catch them and cleanse this place."
"And I thank you, Caldron, for your generosity. We seek to learn and explore, as well as cooperate. Do not think that the treasures you seek to protect will be raped of their value. In fact, there may be much that our organizations could gain from an alliance. But that is talk for another time."
Shardra begins to move to the other door to see what evil hides within.
Unless anyone has anything specific left, or there is other gear to find, we should be good to move to the next room.
DM Kludde
The foul monsters must have taken it. My bow, my mail, my adventuring equipment. I will have to make my way to the surface without them.
Shardra's detection brings up little more - the gear is not here.
The final room on this level is also circular. Wooden bookshelves line nearly every inch of the walls in this room, creating an octagonal library stocked with bound volumes of all sizes. Despite the slightly damp conditions elsewhere in the basement, the air in this room is dry, and the shelves and books are all in unbelievably good condition. A small passage in the north end of the room opens into a larger room beyond, and an excavated tunnel descends sharply to the south.
The tunnels open into a small natural cave that hosts a colorful riot of fungi. A narrow path winds from north to south between mushrooms four feet tall with violet caps as large as shields. A jagged opening in the rocky southern wall reveals a tunnel that leads down into pitch blackness.
Some of the violet capped mushrooms down seem as immobile as they should be...

Batty takes a moment to cast blessing of fervor on the group.
Pick one of these options each round. It does not stack with haste however so no 3 attacks per round.
•Increase its speed by 30 feet.
•Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
•Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
•Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
•Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
Batty will take the +2 to attack, dodge and reflex this round.

As someone with a PhD in physics and over a dozen publications on electrodynamics (i.e. light), I can safely say that the light/darkness rules are overly complicated. Referencing these rules (link), I'd say a daylight spell simply brings the cave back to ambient light conditions. Pitch black, that is, unless someone lights a torch or some other nonmagical light source.

Let's give you the benefit of doubt and assume you still know where everybody was
In the pitch black darkness, Batty manages to bless his party members.
Enora is up!
So just to be clear about that ruling: Is anyone has daylight active (I believe Shardra has), then the cave is at 'prevailing light conditions', which means pitch black (not even low light), unless somebody light a torch or uses some other non-magical means of creating ambient light.
