"Oh, well, almost everything was flooded when we found the place. The security system in there shorted out, and it zaps anyone who comes in. We just don't go in there."
Al 2O3
|
"Hm..." Al 2O3 considers this for a moment.
Engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
The android then looks to their companions. "In theory, we should be able to bypass the hypothetical security devices inside using Starfinder Society agent protocols...assuming that time and ocean water have not degraded the sensors too much, that is."
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
(In case this statement seems out of the ordinary in any way. Now that Al has an inkling that these peaceful morlamaws might be hiding something, they are hopeful that the rest of the team might scrutinize their words and actions more)
Al is willing to try going in, and would mentally activate their subdermal Starfinder Society implant in their left palm (albeit with fist closed for now so as not to reveal it to the morlamaws while their trustworthiness is in question).
_Rocket_
|
"So you won't mind if we go in there on our own risk?" asks one of the Morwali
After hearing Al 203 mention that's it's maybe save for us to enter Rockets follows a few steps behind Al 203
Perception just in case: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Dart Handman
|
Dart steps forward. "Let me step in first just to make sure it is safe. You keep an eye on the sensors and see if you can turn off anything that may shoot at us"
Dart activates his implant though not as concerned about the morlamaws as Al. He will step in with is mote in one hand and the implant showing in another.
| GM Kate |
"Oh no, that's fine! Maybe you can turn it off!"
Al 2O3, you don't detect any deception or ulterior motive, other than that they'd like to be able to use the room themselves.
Rocket, you don't see anything of note on the door.
Al opens the door to reveal three flying security bots emblazoned with the Starfinder Society logo.
"Intruders! Intruders! Intruders!"
They begin scanning palms. "Security protocol accepted. Security protocol accepted. Security protocol accepted. Stand down." The three buzzing bots retreat to the corners of the room.
Combat avoided!
This crowded workshop has benches and a large cabinet lining the walls. The room is filled with disassembled computers, weapons, and gadgets. A door exits to the north, while another door exits to the east.
_Rocket_
|
"Check out this stuff first before moving to another room?"
Rocket takes a look at the dissembled computer, weapons and gadgets
"Could someone checkout the large cabinet?"
And if the benches are somehow separate from the other stuff, those as well
Al 2O3
|
If time permits, Al 2O3 will take 20 on Perception to check around this room.
(24 total)
| GM Kate |
A weaponsmithing tool kit lies near a pile of 600 UPBs. The benches are covered with bits of machinery and broken pieces of printed circuit boards. Engineering check to know more.
The cabinet is locked. Engineering check to open.
_Rocket_
|
Rockets goes through the bits of machinery and broken pieces of printed circuit boards
Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
If nobody else has gotten to the cabinet before he finished with sorting through all the bits and pieces he moves over to the cabinet
Carefully studying it before opening it
Perception because of what happend last time I opened a door: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Dart Handman

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Dart, remembering the great words of his mentor. "Dart! Don't Touch That!" lets the others do the technical survey and looks around the room
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Plachant marks in the ledger:
* Tape (non-sticky), Yellow Caution
* Hovering Droid, Startfinder imprint (3, Active)
* Tool kit, Weaponsmith (1)
* Amount of Building Polymers (approx 600)
* Assorted electronics
| GM Kate |
Rocket investigates the benches. The bits of technology on the workbenches originate from numerous cultures, which is typical for a Starfinder lodge. However, some of the technology is much more recent in design than when the lodge was abandoned.
Meanwhile, the lashunta easily opens the cabinet. The cabinet contains an underwater tactical cryopike and an underwater squad machine gun, with something written on the barrel. The cabinet also contains a serum of enhancement (scientist) as well as holds 6 mk 2 serums of healing.
701
|
"So this one is the interesting supplies closet!"
701 takes a closer look at the barrel of the squad gun.
Al 2O3
|
Al will definitely look to see what is written on the barrel of the machine gun.
Al 2O3 replies to 701's question (also assuming Rocket shares that info) in an equally quiet voice. "We should, and be vigilant in trying to determine if they are being truthful with us. Also...if this equipment is of a more recent technological type than what is typically found...plus these weapons are also made for underwater combat...don't these resemble the weapons that some of Manta Corps stated they used, if I remember my past conversations with them?"
The android will recommend splitting up the healing serums before anything else is done, however. They have a remote delivery system for healing serums and are willing to take more than one of those serums if others would prefer that to carrying one themselves.
(Any of these serums Al gets will be loaded into darts for their needler pistol and moved to the top of the magazine so as to be used first as per notes on my character sheet)
_Rocket_
|
As he goes through the things he encounters Rocket sounds off on what he discovers.
Then seeing a squad machine gun appear from the cabinet Rocket walks away from the bench he's currently looking through it's contents and picks up the gun, a big grin on his face.
Rocket looks at the writing on the barrel of the gun
"..just so you guys know, this is mine now"
Unless someone else wants it? Rocket is a bit of gun enthusiast - the bigger and more explosive the better - but I'm not just going to claim stuff without asking first
| GM Kate |
Al 2O3 can't make out the writing on the barrier. I can't find what languages Rocket speaks.
Dart Handman
|
Drat picks up the Cryopike. "If no one else minds, this may prove useful. According the great stories of Kadin Kaylins adventures, he talks of mermaids and their spears for fighting underwater. "
701
|
Kate it seems I may have forgotten to place 701's statblock on his profile, but it's fixed now... Sorry?
| GM Kate |
701 reads the writing on the barrel: it says “Muncher” in Kalo.
_Rocket_
|
Sorry, Languages are for some reason something I tend to forget to include in my characters sheet. But it's Common and Ysoki, so Rocket wouldn't have been able to read it anyways
"Let's try the other door. You said it was save Al?"
Try the other door in this room?
Al 2O3
|
I don't think we checked that door but I could be mistaken...also the revelation of what the gun barrel says might change things a bit.
701
|
"For those wondering, the writing on the barrel spell the word 'Muncher' in the kalo's language, kalo, perhaps the MantaCorps team has already been to this room.
"Whether it's the name of the weapon or its owner remains to be seen. In the meantime, I've got no problem with Rocket borrowing it, or keep it if we don't find its proprietor."
Al 2O3
|
Al 2O3 sighs upon hearing 701 speak and closes their eyes while attempting to process the new information after making sure the door behind them is closed (to avoid being overheard by the morlamaws outside). "On a previous mission, Manta Corps engaged in friendly communication with the team I was coordinating while our ships were traveling near each other. One of Manta Corps was very proud of his weapon that bore the name 'Muncher'...the fact that it is written in kalo only makes it even more likely that they have been here."
"Added to the equation that at least one of the morlamaws outside have likely not been truthful with us...well...I am not a tactician, but I think we should plan our next actions carefully so that a third Starfinder team does not come and find our equipment in this room some months hence."
| GM Kate |
The door opens easily to the next room. Racks of weapons line the walls of this area, though many show signs of damage from spending decades underwater. Several suits of armor hang from the southern wall, while various boxes of tools rest on the ground. There is a single exit door on the western wall. Most of the original Starfinder equipment is damaged, but there are several items still in usable condition, including two tactical pikes, two tactical spears, and an efficient bandolier. The room also contains an advanced doshko, two sets of d-suit I armor, a set of officer ceremonial plate armor, and four underwater tactical starknives. Please note: thrown weapons still don’t work underwater even with the special property, but you can stab without a penalty.
_Rocket_
|
Seeing that the motherload has been hit, Rocket's eyes light up
"Does anyone mind if I switch out my current armor for one of those sweet D-suit I armors?"
Did we check the boxes of tools to find some of this stuff or is that a separate thing to look at? If so, Rocket will take a look through them after he's put on the armor
| GM Kate |
Most of these tools are damaged by the flood. Rocket doesn't find anything usable.
_Rocket_
|
"Seems we cleared the place out, anyone feel like checking out one of the other rooms? You know.one of the rooms we're not allowed in. We could ask one of those in charge to allow us access to that first room...if one of your sweet talking people persons would like to give it a try?"
Al 2O3
|
Al waits to see if anyone is going to react to what they had to say.
_Rocket_
|
Rocket tilts his head as he thinks about what Al said
"And what do you propose we do? Because my default solution is to just shoot everything in sight..which might not be the best course of action right now?'
Rockets scratches behind one of his ears
"Unless you want to cause a distraction and some of us try to sneak in and explore one of those rooms they didn't want us to enter?"
I've got no idea on what do based on the information we have now, unless we push for a confrontation by going into one of the areas they don't want us to enter or talk to one of the morlowas about it
| GM Kate |
There are also rooms you haven't explored yet that aren't off-limits: A5 and A5.
701
|
"I'd say we should continue to the next door along this side of the building, and after we have explored the open rooms, we could try to negotiate with Oshessa, maybe she'll let us search for forgotten loot in her quarters."
Luke_Parry
|
It would appear that my post saying A5 was fine as a destination has been eaten by a grue...
The lashunta shudders.
"_Rocket_, please don't shoot everything in sight. We were, after all, asked to be friendly, if at all possible. If they attack us, of course, that is another matter entirely... Let's finish exploring the areas that we can, before we go somewhere that we shouldn't (at least, according to the indigenous wildlife)."
| GM Kate |
There are also rooms you haven't explored yet that aren't off-limits: A5 and A5.
That was me posting from my phone and should have been A4 and A5. But A5 it is, for now!
An airlock at the top of the staircase separates the flooded lower floor of the building from the upper floor. Beyond the airlock is a large facility lined with beds and chests. This space provides living space for potentially several dozen creatures. Several morlamaws lounge in their beds, while curtains separate off several corners.
Omen-Seeker: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Dart: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Rocket: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Al2O3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
701: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Raia: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Omen-Seeker spots something shiny stuck to the bottom of one of the curtains.
| GM Kate |
It looks like a Starfinder insignia.
Could I get a Culture or Engineering check?
Dart Handman
|
Plachant glances at the insignia as it is held up. And logs it in the ledger. Dart seems to not notice anything to catch his attention.
Culture (ally): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
| GM Kate |
Plachant notes that the insignia is of modern design, and could not possibly be left over from the original Starfinder Lodge.
Al 2O3
|
Al also studies it in case anything else can be learned from an examination.
Engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Dart Handman
|
Dart ponders the finding. He speaks quietly to his companions "I doubt the Manta Corp would have been so careless. I do think exploration in to the reliquary is in order. Let us check the other room quietly and quickly. Then we will need to confront Oshessa"
Al 2O3
|
Al 2O3 checks to make sure their weapon is ready...just in case.
"Right with you."
701
|
Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
701 joins the other android into examining the badge, rather than it's cultural significance, Plachant has taken care of that.

"To the last unguarded room it is! Rocket, let's not make a mess of things yet."
| GM Kate |
Back upstairs and through the airlock!
This small rectangular room measures about thirty feet across. It has a single entrance to the north. Cabinets and small counters line most of the walls here, with a cooking table and stove combination resting against the southern wall. A pike lies along one long counter with several fish speared on it. An indigo morlamaw moves around quickly, chopping ingredients and adding things to several pots.
"Oh, hello! I'm Zavlig. I do hope you'll join us for this evening's meal; I'm trying to make it extra tasty for you!"
