@Haplo of the Scrolls, hatsumoto: Hmm...either of you mind shifting avatars a bit for the duration of this game? Might not be a bad idea, and it will make the thread look more interesting, at the very least.
Also, @hatsumoto: I am curious, where does your Lay On Hands power + Mercies come from? I didn't think Hellknights could do that.

im imported sheet from my paladin that i usually to play on pbp, this is the 1st game for hatsu out of tables.
Xasay Xyu

Yeah, there are like only 4 samurai avatars so not surprising we got crossover.
Now THAT is so bizarre I can't even tell what I'm looking at...I love it!
| GM Chyro |
Guys,
Would you be interested if this game would be a gameday entry?
Pros: Chance on boons.
Cons: We'd have to wait with actually starting until September 9th.
| GM Chyro |
Ok, then we'll delay true action until then.
| GM Chyro |
As we are currently on hold, can i get the PFS info and dayjobs of everyone?

Jeez, I hate Blackjackets. I hate the very idea of them. Hellknights are bad enough (at least they have their cool armor), but Druman Blackjackets are like...this is exactly where real-world fascism originates from.
Makes one wonder if anyone at Paizo's actually been *planning* on that. Could be interesting...how's life in Druma if you're not a filthy-rich Kalistocrat?
The Scratcher
|
I guess I always saw Blackjackets as Golarian-Blackwater: a mercenary company bought out primarily by the Kalistrates, but otherwise will use their military skills to the highest bidder. Some other lore I should read up to know more about them?
Xasay Xyu
|
Blackwater is very close, but I've always said they're more like half of what the Aspis Consortium is, the other half being Halliburton.
The Druman Blackjacket Fighter Archetype gives a very good feel of what they're about, and beyond that, of course, you may read the much-less-fun histories of historical Terran groups like the pre-WWII German Freikorps, or the right-wing paramilitary groups in Latin America (who, in addition to recently crowning one of their own in Brazil, also landed their very own legend in gamer folklore years ago - go to post #88).
| GM Chyro |
Are you waiting for something specific?
The ball's currently in your court.
Xasay Xyu
|
I'm sorry, I didn't realize; I've been having trouble keeping up this week.
| GM Chyro |
Guys, i'm moving you forward to the gates, since there's been no activity on deciding which course to go.
Xasay Xyu
|
Sorry, I'd been otherwise busy.
Didn't I already suggest (in-game) that we go up the grape trellis out back?
| GM Chyro |
Well, the problem with that approach, is that the vineyard's grape branches are not part of the hedge growth.
It is separate from the hedge and house. The guards will be aware of your presence if you move without stealth/invisibility.
Hence social checks or stealth.
Alexandre D'Alycone
|
Xasay, are you stealthing/going invisible right now with our approach? If you are, I think I have a plan in mind.
Xasay Xyu
|
Ah, yes; that one does, at least.
First time I've ever seen an over-the-hill Tiefling, I believe (PLANESCAPE: Torment notwithstanding)!
I wonder just how old she is...Tiefling PCs start play at 64-108 years old.

I'll bot Xasay if he hasn't posted when i'm home.
| GM Chyro |
A little reminder on NL dmg, that all NL exceeding someone's total of regular HP, turns into lethal dmg.
Alexandre did a fair number on the safe amount.
| GM Chyro |
Xasay, i agree on guard yellow still being vulnerable/at risk for 100% dmg.
As is, he's only been warned it's likely magical in nature oppose to flesh and blood, but he doesn't know its true nature until he's bit.
| GM Chyro |
Alexandre, reading both the Empty Threats feat and class feature, it looks like the bluff/intimidate switch only applies to dazzling display and connected feats.
If it had plainly said 'you can use bluff instead of intimidate skill', (as for example Slayer's Feint 'you use acrobatics inst of bluff) no further details, then yes.
Alexandre D'Alycone
|
The first sentence in Empty Threats is : You can use the Bluff skill to demoralize opponents in combat instead of Intimidate.
| GM Chyro |
Alexandre, out of curiosity, as i have a swashy also, how did you get that dmg output so potent?
A +1 rapier with fencing grace of 4 nets me +5, but you're dealing a base +9, and another +6.
Xasay Xyu
|
Speaking of which, is there any way to get that effect with a piercing weapon other than a rapier? I have a character I'd readily consider making a Swashbuckler, but I have very particular ideas about her weapon of choice.

Okay, quick breakdown.
4 - Fencing Grace ((level 1 feat))
2 - Rapier Training ((level 5 Swashbuckler class ability for Inspired Blade Archetype))
2 - Weapon Specialization ((Bonus Feat at level 4 ))
1 - +1 Rapier
-------
9 total
6 - Precise Strike ((level 3 Swashbuckler deed -- This'll go up with my swashbuckler level, but it's Precision damage, so it doesn't crit and can be negated.))

Sorry, I only know of 4 feats for Dex to damage: Dervish Dance, Fencing Grace, Slashing Grace and Starry Grace. Of those, only Fencing Grace uses a Piercing weapon.

That seems like a ridiculous oversight on the designer's parts - it makes slashing weapons more attractive to Swashbucklers than piercing weapons, which I rather doubt was what they were aiming for.
Any booby-prizes for piercing weapons that can rival DEX-to-damage in power/utility?
| GM Chyro |
As long as nothing's obstructing your charge, i don't see why not.
Scratcher's turn to move is next round though.
Xasay Xyu
|
Very sorry for my inattentiveness; I've had an exceptionally busy week, AND Internet problems!
I'd post now, for example, but I can't seem to stay connected to the map. You said I conjured a dog-puppet; what kind, and where is it now?
Nota Bene: This Bard doesn't sing (much); I generate my monsters using these classy suckers!
| GM Chyro |
Foo dog, from your listed monsters, opposite Scratcher in flank.
| GM Chyro |
Scratcher,
I did a search, as your combat action did make sense.
Multiple attacks, multiple targets, is no problem at all.
