Vampires are merely staggered at 1st round of exposure to sunlight. Turning to dust takes a little longer.

You need a one also out this round. Ie move action pull out, action to shake and free action to drop or Enora to grab and smash after delaying. Hopefully you have a 2nd one... Don't rely on Harlis as I have a 50/50 chance of being unable to act each round.

They refrained from the idea of 'create pit instead of haste'.

Just now, she tried casting it again, but the concentration check wasn't on lvl to have the spell succeed. Hence removing the 2nd pit area.

WAIT, who said I was prone all this time? I absolutely would have taken a move action to stand up, and I had several rounds where I had time and space to do so.

Also, I don't suppose it's too late to use my never-used "Gift of the Ghaele" Boon to bestow restoration upon Sele? That's another thing that wouldn't have eluded me for so long if this were an in-person game, so maybe some slack can be cut for that.

I consider adjacent on the borders of a square a risk for purpose of that spell. Diagonal away from it not.

The rules for adjacent are a little fuzzy but all squares within 5 feet of the pit would be adjacent in my opinion.

See also below:

Melee Attacks: With a normal melee weapon, you can strike any opponent within 5 feet. (Opponents within 5 feet are considered adjacent to you.) Some melee weapons have reach, as indicated in their descriptions. With a typical reach weapon, you can strike opponents 10 feet away, but you can't strike adjacent foes (those within 5 feet).

To be honest if Zephyrus doesn't have another bottle then I'm happy to call this a TPK rather than doing a long drawn out event. I don't think we have the resources to even come close.

Hopefully they don't turn us as a resurrection is a lot more expensive than a raise dead. Especially as we will also need to pay a retrieval team.

If either of you wish to continue to try I will of course do my best, just tossing out the idea.

Oh this is so sad. I would rather fight to be honest as I am applying credit to a character o really like and I don’t have the pp to pay for a resurrection. :-(

@Enora: Harlis also doesn't have the PP for a resurrection+retrieval. I don't have any problems proceeding, just an assessment. We are/were looking at 3 classed vampires, 5-7 rogue, 6-7 wizard/sorcerer and 5-6 cleric.

@Zephyrus: Good to hear. I figured if you made 1 you made 3. Lets just hope you can get two out back to back so that it works. :)

Enora, i see what you're getting at.

But combat opponents can do a full circle.

Consider this:
You're in a square cage, bars at 4 sides. 4 sides you can stab through at, but a direct diagonal is impossible.
Or a square pillar shooting darts. The diagonal squares are out of risk of getting hit.

I consider that with pit as well. None of 4 borders of a diagonal square's threatened by it.

I don't see where that 1-round respite came in. My second to last action was throwing my first jar of bottled sunlight. The 2nd straight round should be NOW - otherwise, I've been screwed out of an action somehow.

Herr Doctor's actions, round 1 through 6:

Round 1:
Retrieve and apply targeted bomb admixture.

Round 2:
Bombs blue away.

Round 3:
Bombs green for 30 hurt.

Round 4:
5ft steps away from green, retrieves & activates 1st jar of bottled sun.
(5ft, move & standard)

Round 5:
Remains in place with green being close, throws the bottled sun for UV nova.

Round 6:
Retrieves 2nd jar of bottled sun, standard to use. Drops for imminent UV nova #2.

Screwed out of something, no.

The respite, which i assume you are referring to, was my description of your own turn's time span.

The item glows nova for 1 round when broken, and thus glows no more when your turn comes around again. You do 6 seconds of stuff before #2 goes off at the moment you drop it at the end of your shaking it.

2 rounds with a pause of 6 seconds, yes.

I think you're missing my point. I've ignored those 6 seconds, and went straight on treating this 2nd sun jar as the 2nd round of continuous exposure.

The vamps flee because this is considered the 2nd round of exposure, while i reckon normally it has to be uninterrupted (like being in broad daylight, no pause there).
Vamps die the 2nd round, provided they have nowhere to flee to in their staggered condition.

Unless you actually 'want' me to see those 6 seconds as a barrier to be used. Though i reckon you prefer not, right?

A whole round is 6 seconds by the way, not just one persons actions in it.

And yes they could escape. We really needed Zephyrus blocking the door out and the 2nd bottle thrown where the first was so they couldn't flee fast enough while staggered.

Only thing popping to mind is the vamps avoiding you.

If it is, this is why.
Vamps know their weaknesses/what kills them, and they've just been exposed to sunlight for 2 consecutive rounds. They'd know it would be foolish to risk a 3rd consecutive round while they can sit out 1 round to recover.

They don't know whether you do or do not have more, in the end.

If it's something else i'm missing, just ask. :o

From what I am seeing Chyro is counting to the end of each round. So round one of sunlight was just at the start of your next turn which staggered them. The second turn wasnt up until the turn after that which is when the vampires fled out of the daylight.

The text says they are destroyed on the second turn unless they escape. It could be read that the end of the second turn is when they die. But since they all moved out of the daylight during round 2 they survived.

About that which ought to work. The problem is that we're starting with different assumptions, and it feels like you're saying "SURPRISE! I've decided the rules don't work that way, and didn't even warn you until it was too late." There's "RAI" to consider, too - the way you're claiming it works makes bottled sunlight, a complicated and expensive good, nearly useless.

That's all well and good, but if (for example) I drop a gold brick, I expect it to fall. Rven if I've never dropped a gold brick before, I know enough about gold and gravity to expect that. If it floats upward instead, it's not my fault that the laws of physics chose that occasion to operate in a way they never have before. That's kind of how this feels to me.

'It may take a while', is all i was told. Though i hope it won't be on/after 12th of June, since i'll be on vacation for a couple of weeks from that day on, and i can not guarantee daily posts during that time.

By the way, you voiced earlier you were worried about pregen/PC death, though i recall that in case of pregen death, one can also create a new dummy PC who'd take the fall in such a case.

The boards hold a lot of info to read on, so specifics on how/if, are to be looked up.

but I believe if Enora dies this condition is valid for the PC I chose to give credit to.

The PFS guide page 6 (right column):

"You must choose to which of your characters the credit
will be applied at the beginning of the adventure."

and further down in the right column:

"Throughout the adventure, the pregenerated character
might accrue unfortunate conditions such as a curse,
disease, or even death. The pregenerated character must
always clear and resolve these conditions before the end
of the adventure; otherwise, they affect the Roleplaying
Guild character."

Do if Enora dies my original character is dead too. :-(

@Enora: Yes, but in an oddity, your original PC doesn't die until you can apply the credit. This also means you do have plenty of time to build up PP or gold to cover the raise dead/resto costs.
