Lym Blackhand |

"Go over!" Lym shouts at Thordak. "You can fly! Just hug the wall and you should be alright! Hurry, before it gets its fangs on the rats!"
Lym spreads wide her arms and intones Words of Power. Five darts of pure force fly forth from her hands, zip over the wall and impact the frenzied constrictor!
Magic Missile for 5d4 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 4, 3) + 5 + 2 = 20 unerring force damage.

Tomaru |

Tomaru sends the air elemental to aid Kellen onto the ferry. Then to rescue the folk in the church.
He has Gialla to get the ferry and its passengers to the safety of land. If that means going through the snake, then so be it.
Orca Strength Check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29 includes Augment Summoning
Orca Bite: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 5) + 15 = 22 includes Augment Summoning
He then casts Fly on himself and hurries over to the church.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 hasted
Does Agile Feet ability help while flying? I'm sure it will come up. Tomaru will try using it if he needs to.

Praxim |

Seeing Kellen rescued by the air elemental, Praxim continues to fire at the snake.
Arrow: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 = 13
Arrow: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 11
Arrow: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 = 11

Rhianni Verdani |

If Rhianni can cast Deep Slumber without it affecting any of her own friends within the 10ft square, she will attempt to cast it to put the snake asleep.
Rhianni's words of slumber take a deeper and more meaningful tale of darkness and night, the sounds of the words make their way towards the snake. The words seem to magically assault the snake's will to attack the villagers as its brain is numbed by the darkness of sleep.
Will save, DC=20 or DC=22 if the lullaby spell worked. Up to 10HD of creatures fall asleep.
If the deeper slumber spell can't be cast because of the party around the snake, she will cast beast shape 1, and take the body of a dolphin, and set out to rescue Kellen. Swim Speed 80ft, swim +13. Rhianni will do this next round if the Deep Slumber goes off.
4 rounds of Haste left on everybody, and on Rhianni when she takes on the body of the dolphin, 5 if Deep Slumber not caste.
P.S. Sorry Kellen, hoped you'd have been able to ride the wave....

Thordak Ironheart |

Thordak nods, "Okay! Will try!" He then heads straight for the wall until he runs into it and then attempts to go over it.
Fly: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Kellen Wrensler |

Tomaru sends the air elemental to aid Kellen onto the ferry. Then to rescue the folk in the church.
Thanks! FYI - I was actually closer to the church, so I might assume he placed me there instead.
P.S. Sorry Kellen, hoped you'd have been able to ride the wave....
No worries - more like my bad swim checks - sheesh!

Old Guy GM |

Tomaru's air elemental lifts a sputtering and coughing Kellen to the steps of the cathedral while the orca begins pushing the ferry against the current towards the higher part of the village.
The celestial rats and the snake continue to tangle when Praxim's arrows hit it. It rears to full height with a loud hiss, only to drop unconscious in a deep sleep.
Thordak slams headfirst into the force wall with a 'bang!' and starts crawl/flying his way over to Lym's side of the barrier. Once over, he lands with a thump.
Somewhere out in the flooded river, you can see what appears to be a gargantuan log twisting in the torrent, headed straight for the center of town...

Rhianni Verdani |

Rhianni's eyes follow Praxim's finger to see the log, "By the gods, the river means to destroy the town, perhaps I can...No the creature is too small, if I were a dolphin I couldn't alter its course, could I!"

Lym Blackhand |

"Hell's bells!" Lym growls as she rises up into the air and draws a bead on the log. The Wizard starts to chant, hands moving through the intricate gestures of spellcasting, and she fires a tiny bead of hot light at the log.
When the bead touches the log, it erupts into a sphere of roaring flame.
Fireball. I'd use Wall of Ice, but that can't form in an area occupied by physical objects - like water - so I can't anchor it. Fire damage to log: 9d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 2, 2, 2, 6, 6, 5) + 2 = 38. Oh, for access to the Disintegrate spell...

Rhianni Verdani |

Rhianni tries desperately to divert the log by casting a spell to disrupt its path, but nothing seems to be appropriate in her repotoire.
will look again tomorrow, but where's a high powered Druid when you need one!

Tomaru |

Round 4
Summons:
1 Gialla
2 Air Elemental
Tomaru sighs at the addition of yet another problem, but he pushes on. "Get yourself together, Kellen. We have work to do." He instructs the air elemental to begin ferrying people to safety. "Everyone tie yourself or grab hold of the rope" Tomaru pulls hands over his rope. "The elemental will drag you through the water to safety." He figures that this is the best way to get the most of them to safety. "We'll help the sick and try to save as much of the religious items as we can."
How many people are in here sick?

Kellen Wrensler |

Waterlogged Kellen gives Tomaru a wave of acknowledgement before going around to seeing if he can help the people in the church. With the elemental dealing with ferrying people to safety, he does his best to aid with equipment or religious items or carry the sick to the elemental for transport.
Catching sight of log he mumbles: "I ain't no lumberjack , so not much I'll be able to do 'cept get you folks out onto dry land. If it becomes a problem...we'll cross that bridge later."

Old Guy GM |

Lym's spell bursts in a blast of super-heated steam, and the log dips under the surface of the water...
...
...
...
...
Suddenly the celestial whale is yanked under the surface, screeching with an alarm that is cut off instantly. The ferry with all of the children, the schoolteacher, Lym and Thordak, ceases forward progress and starts spinning back toward the lake.
A second later, the flooded square erupts in a massive geyser of debris and water! A gargantuan creature rears up out the flood to tower over the ferry and its inhabitants. The children and their teacher scream in terror as the water from the beast's eruption pours over them. Lym and Thordak are knocked on their backs by the lurching ferry. The beast snaps its jaws, and the celestial whale is severed in two, the bloody halves of its carcass falling in the water with a great splash.
From somewhere high up in the church a woman can be heard screaming: 'She's come! Black Magga has come!"
Your turn: Lym and Thordak are on the ferry, prone. The ferry and Black Magga are in the center of the village square, marked with an 'X'. Thordak is in melee range, both Lym and Thordak are in a threatened space. Praxim, Tomaru, and Rhianni are to the north-east of the square near building #2. Kellen is all the way down at the church, building #6. The scale is on the map so you have an idea of distances.

Lym Blackhand |

I was actually flying above the ferry, getting elevation to Fireball that log. ^^;
Can I make any checks to identify this critter?

Old Guy GM |

I was actually flying above the ferry, getting elevation to Fireball that log. ^^;
Can I make any checks to identify this critter?
Yup, and a giant creature just burst out of the water throwing mass waves and debris all around. So you are knocked down on the ferry. Or you could be in the water...
Sure, Kn: local or nature DC30.

Praxim |

Activate smite evil. He uses thistle arrows until 1 of them hits. If any hit, he inflicts bleed 1 on the beastie. Also, if he's within 30 feet of it, each attack has +1 to attack and damage.
Arrow: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 1 + 3 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 1 + 1 + 3 - 2 - 4 = 14

Arrow: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 1 + 3 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 12 + 1 + 1 + 3 - 2 - 4 = 12

Kellen Wrensler |

To the people in the church, Kellen asks as he continues to help them: "What's a Black Magga? Have you seen that thing before?
Once the people that need help have been loaded up, Kellen hitches a ride on the air elemental's improvised transport to move closer to the beast's location. Once he spots a good building (thinking #3 on the map), he'll try and climb as high as he can to take a shot at it.
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Thordak Ironheart |

Seeing the utterly massive creature pop out of the water, Thordak's eyes go wide. "Ya gotta be freakin' kiddin' me! I did NOT sign up for this! No one told me I was signin' up for this! Blast!" Thordak stands up, drawing his ogre hook as he does.
Gotta stand and draw. No way I can fight this thing laying on the ground. I told ya we were screwed. :P

Tomaru |

"For the love of Desna. Really?" Tomaru sighs and shakes his head. "Desna, save us." Cast Prayer. "That damned thing killed Gialla like it was nothing. I'm going to kill that thing. I'm gonna kill that thing then I'm going to dance over its grave."

Old Guy GM |

The village folk scramble back up the steps into the church, screaming in terror. No way they are going to be dragged through the water with that thing there, Kellen. "Black Magga is...was...a legend in these parts," says one old woman through sobs of fear, we used her to scare children, that sort of thing. It was always rumored she lived in the Storval Deep, on the other side of the dam at Skull's Crossing. If she's here, then something has gone wrong with the dam!"
Praxim's arrows bounce harmlessly off of the beast, it's scales are as hard as adamantine. Not DR, just you didn't get through AC. Then Black Magga rears back and inhales...she thrusts her huge head forward, exhaling a cloud of foul-smelling putrid smoke. The cloud catches Lym, Thordak, and everyone on the ferry.
Prayer is up; Tomaru has Prot. from Evil; you all are up. Need saves from Lym and Thordak.

Kellen Wrensler |

"That explains the noise and the avalanche...the dam's broke," mutters to no one in particular as the wheels turn in his head. With a sort grim determination, he says to the folks: "We'll do what we can."
He turns to get closer to Black Magga, if needed he yells to Tomaru:"Priest - get your elemental to get me closer! These folks ain't going nowhere with that thing here."
Once he's in range, he'll start firing with his crossbow.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6

Rhianni Verdani |

Rhianni starts to make her voice carry to her allies, "remember the saga of the of the grey company. The time they entered the caverns of the ancients, home to the great worm of Quaria, the gargantuan purple destroyer of life. The Rangers of the grey, humans, elves and assorted race, came together to pepper the tough armoured hide with arrows to rain down in a cloud of death. Blood streaming in red rivers of foul smelling liquid, before the dwarves of the grey, did bring their hammers down in a continual battering, their blows resounding and echoing through the cavern like a battle of thunder gods. Yet the worm did not go down, it's mandibles crushing its foes, mangled bodies of dwarves, lying in a sea of blood and gore. It seemed like days, but was in just that evening the.cabavern gave up its occupant, and the purple worm lay dead at the feet of the grey, their triumph and glory forever sung through the halls of Golarian, their names remembered long after their days passed, Sebastian of Magnimar whose sword did cut so deep, Tagnuk dwarves Lord of the deep, whose hammer lay shattered from its mighty blows..." and so Rhianni listed the heroes of the grey company, inspiring her companions to greater feats.

Praxim's barrage continues to bounce from the beast's iron-hard scales, the arrows glancing high into the air and arcing out of sight.
Kellen, you are in range from where you are...in fact, you could shoot from the second floor of the church quite easily.
Bless and Inspire Courage are up for everyone. Need Thordak and Kellen to roll attack, then Black Magga will go at the end of the round.

Kellen's shot misses much like Praxim's, while Thordak's ogre hook isn't having much more effect.
Black Magga shifts her massive bulk to the east, reaching out with her tentacles to grasp nearby citizens and heroes alike! One grabs Lym out of the air, twisting around her. Another snatches up Praxim, while the third and fourth grab screaming citizens. Lym, Praxim, 13 hp damage as you are grabbed - you are now grappled. The monster snaps her jaws, biting Thordak on the leg! 18 hp damage Thordak.
ROUND TWO: Lym and Praxim are grappled and 10' in the air. Thordak is Confused, the pfsrd has the d100 table to roll on. Black Magga is now 10' from the ferry, so out of range from the ogre hook. Everyone can go.

Black Magga is living up to the legendary status she holds. Bolts, arrows, spells, axe...nothing seems to get through to harm her. She flexes her tentacles, squeezing those she holds in her grasp. 14 hp damage Lym and Praxim. The two villagers scream in agony, then are silent...
Then Black Magga strikes again at Thordak, putting all of her considerable strength behind the attack. She clamps down hard on the dwarf, huge fangs sinking deep into flesh. 31 hp damage, Thordak. She whips her neck back, throwing the dwarf from the ferry where he stood and sending him flying back towards Rhianni, only narrowing missing her.
Black Magga lifts her head and roars in triumph.
Suddenly a shout comes from the north...

Shalelu_Andosana |

The three Black Arrows, led by Shalelu, vault from their horses into the flood waters to join the attack. Shalelu and Jakardros let a barrage of arrows fly at the monster's head, having little effect but causing her to shake back and forth as the barbs sting at her eyes. Vale wades into the flood, axes waving menacingly as he makes his way to where Thordak lies.
"Circle her! Keep it up!" the ranger yells. Clearly she doesn't know quite what she's gotten herself into...

That must be what she's speakin' about because that's what we're doin'; and quite well I might add. And you know what else, if we were havin' a good strong drink about now, we'd be able to move a little better in the water while we fly. Because from what I'm thinkin', these things don't really like to dance seein' they've no legs. Now if I only had about a 100 gold."
