Heh, I'm up for it, I'm good at under-emphesis ;)
I'm playing in a Runelords game on here that started when the AP came out, so yeah, I know how long an AP will last to completion. Most don't though in my experience, so I'd rather set up the expectation of a little play, that can evolve if we gel and things work out.
So, one vote for second darkness. I'll leave this open for at least a couple of days, and see if we can get a party sized vote on a single AP.

All of those APs are 3.5 ;) but the changes are easy enough, I've done it before.
Rise of the Runelords
Curse of the Crimson Throne 1
Second Darkness 3
Legacy of Fire 1 (1 secondary)
I'll work out which AP, then make sure everyone has the player guide, *then* decide on a pt build.
Also I'm generally Ok with stuff so long as I can verify it on the SRD and I don't have to track a load of stuff :)
Finally, I'll probably also use Obsidian Portal to track encounters, XP, treasure...

The question is are you up for it? An AP isn't a "little bit of DMing". It takes you 3-5 years to complete.
Maybe stick with a module first and see if that scratches the DM'ing itch.
Not necessarily. I got done with book 1 of MM in 2.5 months, with that speed in would take 15 months to complete the game. And I've found more ways to speed things up, I'm 1/3 of the way through book 2 in half of a month.
If my gaming limit isn't full by the time you have a thread up, any of those look good, but I'm dming Legacy of Fire, so I'd put it last in my preference list. Though I told the players I would get busy as I know the upcoming events in my life, so I'd only DM the first book for them and I don't have the rest of the books. DMing does take a little more time than playing and more well thought out stuff, just a little. MM on the other hand, I plan to at least DM half the game before I quit.

Ok, may as well close it there. 5 Peeps want Chrimson Throne, with one who'd take it as a second option, and another possible in the wings who PMd me but didn't state a preference.
So, lets start with
Helaman
Wolfgang Rolf
KakkarottoZ
Adahn_cielo
Peter Harrah
Grand Moff Vixen(?)
Please grab that, have a read, and start thinking about character ideas.
Everyone gets two traits One of them must be from this player's guide. Probably best to pick that one first.

Well darn it.... I spent all that time reading through this and playing catch up with all of the details that I didn't get to post before it closed. Darn.
Well, good luck to you. If anyone drops out, I would like a shot at filling their spot.
Grushdeva Du Kalt Misht
-Death Keeper
I would have voted for Rise of the Runelords

As I obtained the players guide long ago (and was just perusing it today), I will look at the traits and design a background from there. As I am fond of intertwined backgrounds, who would be interested in making a shared story with me? Friends or siblings is fine with me, that or other options I may not have considered.
Nevynxxx, how do you feel about the Sorcerer's Wildblooded (Sage) archetype? I have wanted to play one of these for a while.

Ha! I've got the 6 we need now, with a waiting list. I think we are fine....
Vixen, no problem with that at all.
Ok, lets go 20 point buy.
If you could pm me an email address too to punt into obsidian portal, I'd appreciate it. The important stuff will get linked into the thread, but would be nice if you contributed in too. Not vital though.

Yeah, 12 positive responses in less than 4 hours.... I'm thinking there's a dearth of GMs around here!
And I was all ready to submit a concept! I'm surprised you closed so soon-- Most PbP GMs are very picky.
Just for comparison: Last week, one GM opened a Serpent's Skull recruitment thread for 5 PCs. It was open for a week. There were about 40 applicants for him to choose from, all with fully-statted characters, full backgrounds, etc.
There's a Second Darkness recruitment thread that just closed after being open for five days. Almost 30 applicants, again all with fully-statted characters.
Most open recruitment threads are there for a few days, and get at least four or five times the number of applicants as there are slots.
It's kind of like the job market was in 2009!

I *could* be picky, but I doubt I'd gain anything by that. I'd rather not keep people hanging on if there are enough players. It may be that as we finalise the characters some drop out and I come back here to build back up. It may be we lose a few in the first few encounters, or through different play styles, then again, I'll come back.
