I don't want to say too much for fear of metagaming (running this as a GM in another thread and I've read all the books), but I think there are enough opportunities for both archery and melee to be useful coming up. I would go with Archery as your combat style for a few reasons.
1. Melee is going to get crowded in our group. Borden wants to stab things, Basil is a greatsword user, and I want to be tanking when possible.
2. I think Archery requires more dedication, so using the bonus feats on it should help get it strong as quickly as possible.
These are just my thoughts, and it's possible I could be completely wrong on them.
Edit: Can I take PFS Standard 1/2 HD +1 for my HPs?

What he said. I'm not averse to tweaking maps anyway, but I think you're ok, and with the others "screening" you should be able to take advantage to keep at range even in fairly tight confines.
Go with what interests you. The rest will work itself out.

Borden took Versatile performance Oratory which gives him Diplomacy and Sense Motive.
Finally he is the face you need him to be though I think our Oracle is better at that too.
I took Knowledge Local as well as climb and buffering some of my other skills.
Spells - Ghostly noises and charm person - I think that will be a useful spell and in character.
Fav. Class in HPs means that he is pretty tanky. Starting level 4 I'll likely swing my favoured class into spells. I took the standard PFS Half + 1

Is Rojerick going to go Sorcerer after this level?

Let's recruit a 5th then. I think 5 for PbP is a good number.
Gwen. Roj. Basil
Bard with long spear
5th player
I think it would work a treat - wizard or a witch maybe?

Ok, I'd say Sorc, Wiz, Witch, Alchemist, or Magus. Probably in descending order of usefulness at this point?
Will you open the recruitment

Downstairs, in one of the cattle pens you find a small hole beneath a trough. It contains 450 gp, 740 sp and an assortment of gem stones.
In the office you find pretty much nothing of value, other than a silver dagger sat on the desk.
How about we start a party slush fund to buy a wand of clw etc?
The 740sp is 74gp. Let's open a bank of abadar acct to start and bank that and 10 gol and from now on bank 1 part in 5 moving on?
That leaves us all 110gp each and 84gp in the kitty.
Someone can have the dagger.
Borden Read
1 part in 5 is 200. So we can take 200 each and bank another 200 - at this rate we could buy a wand in no time... If players are ok with the party kitty

That's ok for Gwen.
Edit: iirc someone (Basil maybe?) proposed to buy a partially charged wand of CLW, that sounds good to me.
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
Yeah. Anyone disagree?
No arguments here, arcane power is good. Although a magus would have a hard time finding a spot at the forefront, it's already crowded as it is... My vote goes to a full arcane caster.
Rojerick Alandsson
I'd be fine with going evenly all-in on one right now, if you all wanted. We need to buy one eventually, even with three of us that have healing now. As for the caster, I would say no magus, no melee-focused alchemist. Whatever it is, it HAS to be ranged.

How many charges in a used wand of CLW will 284 gold get us? I count 18.9 charges ... So 18 charge used wand is available?
I have no personal shopping.
Appraise on the gems 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Re: shopping, Gwen would like to buy a masterwork chain shirt and/or a masterwork composite longbow, depending on the money...
CLW wand with 20 charges is a real bargain for that price, let's have it! Who's going to keep it?
Borden Read
In buying the wand Borden will sell the gems, offering 1 part in 5 to the party fund at the bank (so we now have 150 in the bank) and 150 to everyone else
Not bad all in all

CLW with 50 charges = 750.
284/750 = .376 recurring
.376*50 = 18.9 so you are getting 1.1 charges free. Not exactly bargin of the century!

150+110=260 gp each, hmmm... Either Gwen buys her masterwork chainmail now, or she waits for her share of the 1K from Kroft and buys the mwk comp longbow.
Decisions decisions...
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
Ok, Gwen will postpone her shopping expedition after the meeting with Kroft (the message said to be in her office at the strike of first bell in the morning anyway, so I assume there won't be much time to go shopping before that).

Well, to be fair I never pretended appraisal was Gwen's strongest skill... ;-) anyway that 1 charge could save her life one day.
Just making sure you now I'm not being toooooo nice... ;)

GM - can you take a peek at my equipment comments in my character sheet and see if my basic calcs on cash on hand is right for me?

1k down... 3k to go.
I want that Mithral Breastplate :)
Take your ticket and join the queue :-)

Is there a page I can update on the obsidian portal site? I'll maintain the "bank" there or do you want it on the loot xls?

I'd have thought there'd be more interest in our game but it seems the holidays are still impacting or maybe everyones already played this one.

As soon as we're finished with Kroft, Gwen takes her 200 gp and with her grand total of 460+78,59=538,59 goes straight to the shop to buy a:
composite longbow (100 gp) masterwork (300 gp) str rating +1 (100)
for a total amount of 500 gp; she sells her shortbow for 15 gp and, assuming that the arrows she had bought for the shortbow can be also used with the longbow, that leaves her with 53,59 gp.
Yay for shopping!

They can't, and if they were magical that would be a problem. But for mundane arrows I'm really not going to make you sell the old ones and re-buy new.... The very nice lady at the bowery throws in some free arrows.

I really like that "Erik Copper" submission in the recruitment thread. It's got a lot of flavor and a cool backstory. I say we give the others another day or so to put something together and then make a decision. Oh, and also, MiniGM wants you to answer whether or not he can take Kobold bloodline out of race.
Erik Copper
Erik Copper reporting for duty. I'm all crunched up and ready to go, following an invite to join from Nevynxxx.
I'm not sure quite how best to jump in, but given that Erik's as much a street urchin at this point as anything else, it should be easy to run into him in Old Khorvosa/Eel's End. Perhaps he could be hired as a guide, and then reveal himself to be of surprising utility?
Either way, I'm excited to join the group, and am looking forward to playing out this AP!
EDIT - perhaps he could present himself at Gwen's home, sent there by an ally/their employer so as to help them navigate Eel's End?
