Rynjin, I think you misinterpreted my post - I was only five-foot-stepping, because I needed a full-round action to do the spell.
Chimon completes his spell with the words, "Confinement is peace!" and summons a gigantic, red-speckled orb weaver (fiendish giant spider) into the clearing. The monster shoots a sticky wad of webbing at the shaman, then moves closer to distract it from Korak.
Up to Rynjin on whether I can get it to actually do that; it may just charge ahead, but I'm guessing the more sedentary orb weaver would prefer to web THEN grab its foe.
Web ranged touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 DC 12
Watching the spider with a small smile, Chimon shouts encouragement to Jo and Korak, emboldening their efforts.
Inspiring command again on both of them.

Will save re-roll: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
The Shaman briefly looks as though he's going to succumb to Jo's attack, but a burst of pure good luck keeps him from failing.
Jo invisibles and moves away.
The Shaman tries his luck at slashing Korak.
And I just remembered his attack roll should have been 2 higher, and Jo takes 4 more damage.

The spider tries, ineffectually, to bite the shaman. It then springs back five feet, out of reach of the scary bright flame.
Bite (flanking): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8 B/S/P: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Swift for smite good, so +3 damage if the orc is good-aligned; also, this isn't accounting for prone but it probably still misses. Five-foot step backwards after attacking.

That's not how I run it, but summons do automatically go after foes in my games. The languages/wild empathy/Handle Animal only comes into play if a summoner want something tricky, like getting carried or healing an ally.

I was talking more "How would it know where she is?". Earth Elementals don't have Tremorsense or anything. But yes, I will enforce the "Must know their language" clause for anything more complex than "Kill that".

You track the Boar for nearly an hour before coming to a sort of "fort". It's little more than a ramshackle collection of tents, and one crude longhouse dominating the center with a trench around it, but it looks fairly civilized, for an Orc community.
There are about 40 Orcs going about their business in town, smithing mostly, with a few washing clothes in a nearby stream and some cookfires started here and there. There don't appear to be any warrior types, though the smoke coming from the longhouse indicates there might still be people inside.
