Waiting on you guys to decide what exactly you want to ask ... however, I'm curious how you feel about the slumber hex.
I feel like it's a really anti-climactic end to a lot of fights (especially climactic battles that tend to be against one BBEG), especially since Accursed Hex means it's basically two Will saves that have to be made or the fight's over. If none of you are bothered by it, I'll live with some abrupt ends to fights, but I did want to see what you think.
(And just in case: Pems, I know it's being played perfectly within the rules. I'm not upset, just wanted to get the tenor of the group.)

I've always approached things like the slumber hex as something of a Gentleman's Agreement between the players and GM. Back when Save or Die spells were plentiful, we'd always approach it as "If the players use it against the GM, the GM is free to use it against the players."
I'm alright with the hex if everyone else is. If not, I wouldn't be particularly bothered by its absence either.

I'm here for the RP and the goofing off, not necessarily for the angry tense combats (though I like a balance). To me, and as a yahoo who has played witches to high level (including a PbP Shackled City now at 16th lvl...and has just now taken Slumber), I know the weaknesses of witches and of the slumber hex.
I'm fine with Slumber being used as often as is warranted. It doesn't affect a lot of things, and, even if it did work, one kick from a minion/pig and the baddie is up again (though loses a round of actions).
If it becomes a problem for me, I'll complain...don't you worry.
Motte, you could soften it easily enough: asking that it only be used in multiple foe fights or giving solo baddies a +4 to the save.
However, mostly, as we get this high of level, many baddies will be naturally immune (undead, constructs, many outsiders) so it's not that big of a thing.

I'm comfortable climaxing with whatever tools are available.
/me keeps the pig away from Tsin.
Last thing we need is a XXX rating slapped on this PbP AP.

I'm a floating language slut!
Loose as you are with your morals in regards to languages, Pemsworth, perhaps you might consider the Tongues hex? =P

2) Too much or too little for Brady, Motte?
Too much. That was insane, especially the draft pick penalties when the report (which was also ridiculous) said Kraft and Belichick had no knowledge of any supposed rule-breaking (which of course was only determined to have happened after Wells browbeat the ref into saying what Wells wanted him to say so he could prove there was rule-breaking).
I think this costs Goodell his job in the long run. I can't see Kraft supporting him when his contract comes up for renewal again (much less ever supporting anything Goodell wants).
That said, I think the opening game is going to be crazy. There are going to be clearly-audible-on-TV cheers of "Brady" over and over, and when there's not, it's probably going to be "F&&& Goodell." I don't see how the NFL is going to be able to celebrate starting a new season, which is what it wants to do, when every single time it gets mentioned, it and any league officials are going to be booed out of the building (if Kraft even lets them in, which I wouldn't if I were him). Not to mention good luck promoting the game when the best players on both teams won't be able to play.

Jim McNally is the real story. If he goes to ESPN like he threatened already, then Tom Brady might end up being synonymous with Pete Rose.
But you're right about those draft picks, Mott, that's an unfair penalty on a franchise for a player's actions. And its a stupid penalty as well, the individual actually hurt by the lost draft picks is the one less kid drafted that year.
The biggest head scratcher of the whole thing was losing the fourth round pick in 2017. WTF was that? Where do they come up with a 4th round pick two draft years removed being a suitable penalty for a player's actions? Is Goodell rolling dice to determine penalty levels? I suspect DiceBot is far more involved in this affair than we realize!

In a larger sense, aren't we all just pigskin? If you poke us, do we not deflate? If you sneak us into bathroom stalls, do we not exit the bathroom with less air in us? If you palm us into Brady's hands, do we not sigh just a little...?

Just to make clear, I'm waiting on you guys. So far no one has physically really stopped Tsin from attacking, IMO, but it seemed like she held off last round. Not sure if she wants to still attack or anyone's going to do anything more aggressive...
On another note, I'm leaning heavily toward running Skull and Shackles if you all are interested. I think we could have a fun group of pirates. Probably still wouldn't start for a while but I think that feels like it's of more interest than Hell's Rebels/Vengeance. My impression is the first book at least is a lot of work, though, so it may go slightly more slowly than Reign. I could be wrong about it, of course, as I've not yet bought or read it.

Excellent :) SaS sounds like fun, I must agree.
I'm also waiting for Malavarius's actions in Round 1, as he trumps my initiative. Tsin will make her attack, likely. Malavarius is the only one she'll listen to at this point.

This. I would do this.

This. I also await this.

This. To be more clear, ZephTyr touched down in Tsin's square, choosing not to slam Tsin (but is happy to take the cold damage), but did use the blinding power that I quoted in spoiler. In this current square, I believe Tsin to be unable to see her target.

"So far no one has physically really stopped Tsin from attacking"
Yep, Quinn's only real action in round 2 was reaching a hand toward the lady along with some honeyed words

Phew. Just finished reading (most of the first S&S module). I think I was right when I suggested as one of the games I tried to play in flamed out that it would be a tough mod to do. LOTS of things to keep tracks of as opposed to fairly straight forward questing like RoW seems to be.
That said, I think it might be even worse to try to do it live, as I don't think I've *ever* be able to remember everything going on there.
I'd say start spitballing some character ideas and maybe we'll start in a few weeks (I'm out of town June 15-18 or so, but maybe after that)? It may go a bit more slowly than Reign here -- and I can't guarantee 100 percent I won't need to put it on hiatus as it'll be my fifth game I'm running -- but we'll see what happens.
Keep in mind that your character should WANT to be pirates. Also remember that you'll not necessarily be starting with your gear, though you should buy it as normal. Additionally, if you're a class that has a familiar or animal companion, we may need to make some special accommodations...

Spitballing? I had a little more time than just that when working up the Inventory Log for our Kingmaker game, good sir!
Sicarius Brood, angry, listless elf, has begun to take shape! I'm thinking he's been struggling to find a place in the world and has looked for meaning in various religions across the Inner Sea. I like the idea of him not even knowing of Besmara at the outset, yet him being chosen by her nonetheless and coming to discover her as the adventure unfolds.
He wouldn't be a leader by any stretch. While shrewd and smart, I don't see him as having a lot of will or drive to captain a vessel, but I do think he'd be a great enforcer or dragon for a worthy captain.

It's a nice simplification of the monk, while adding in a lot of options for the ki powers to enhance customization.
Now the big question: A vanara monk? Yes or no? Monkey monk lives for the weekend, sir.

And as usual, once I started thinking I went in the opposite direction. I'm aiming for a wood elementalist wizard, with the Ship's Surgeon trait, a kid whose carpenter father went into debt to put him through wizard school, came home to find his father dying of cancer and unable to pay the debt, so he went onboard to pay the debts. He has just returned, found his father dead and gone to the pub to drown his many sorrows and plan his next moves. And as luck would have it...

Sorry for walking the plank so late on this:
Point #1) I don't want to know the build of what anyone else is playing. I trust y'all to play characters and don't give a damn about balance or covering 'roles'.
Point #2) I suggested to Motte that he limit the character creation stuff to pretty much CORE, plus a bit of extra for gunslingers: Core Rulebook, Adv Players Guide, Unchained, Traits & Pirates of the Inner Sea. He said he should run it by you yahoos.
(For me, I really prefer CORE for PbPs, unless there is a pressing need to include all the extra fluff. I find it makes the loot/plunder more interesting.)
Anyhoot, that's my two coppers.

Thanks for that pit, Mal. That was fun. :)
Of course, I probably would have done more damage just attacking, but that was nice and cinematical and stuff.

As for Point 2 above, I'm happy to go either way, as I told Hektir. I know as a player I like getting to try new rules, but I suspect with PFS, Hektir gets to play around a bit more than I do (I basically just get to do PBP, so have somewhat limited chances to experiment outside of design work).
| Malavarius King |
Gah! I'm never casting this stupid pit spell again! It never helps! >=|
As for point 2, I always try to limit myself to a total of 3 sources for building a character: Core +2 others (not including AP Player's Guides or Traits from the APG). Beyond that, I also limit myself to the PRD for pbps (since everything else is blocked at my office and it's just easier to be able to always reference the parts of my characters). I've found that helps prevent some gonzo combinations while also letting me really explore and be creative with the characters I cook up.
Further, I would be crushed, just CRUSHED if Ultimate Magic was off the table. Magus is, by far, my favorite base class and I really, really love trying to make it work for other archetypal roles. I find it to be both fun and a challenge.
