Rupert climbs down, relying on the magical light of his companions to find his way down there. "Been seein' a lot o'caves since we picked up with you and your lot, Yakpik. Y'guys've got quite the lifestyle," he looks around with hesitant curiosity.

Yakpik isn't there; he stayed aboveground and refused to approach the sycamore.
The tunnel is cramped, barely offering enough room for all of you. The ceiling is rarely more than five feet high, with the top foot of that space full of thin roots and stalactites. In fact, you find you have to stoop to move around, something you're afraid will hamper your swordplay if it comes down to that. -2 to all attack rolls in the caverns.
The tunnel, sloping gradually down as it goes, branches about 20 feet to both the east and west, where it seems to open into larger caves.

Rupert Hentzau |

Ah, sorry. I was in a rush and just wanted to get something up earlier, since I'd disappeared again. Also, I want to apologize for my inactivity lately, I've just been incredibly busy with schoolwork this semester. I had a huge deadline this weekend, though, so I've got some more spare time for another week or two. I'll try to give more of a heads up next time I have to disappear for a day or two.
"Pretty cramped in here," Rupert complains, "Let's get to those deeper caves up there, might be a bit roomier."

Orin Ro |

Orin will wait for the others to join him in the passageway before heading down the west tunnel.

Treshiell |

Treshiell runs her right hand across the ceiling of the tunnel as she follows, causing a small but steady stream of dirt fall into her hair and consequently on Agnar following behind as well. Once in a while she blows softly into her hands conjuring three new spheres of light which she sends circling Orin.

So sounds like the order is Edrukk, Orin, Rupert, Treshiell, Agnar when you need to be single file.
The wet-looking floor of this large cavern is crisscrossed by several shallow trenches, each containing trickles of putrid-looking fluid. Six foul mounds of compost and dung lie heaped about the room, each studded with small spherical eggs. Another tunnel leads out and farther down into the ground to the west.
In the middle of the room, a female mite sits on a small stool feeding five giant centipedes a paste of some sort from a large wooden bowl in front of her. The centipedes hiss as you enter the room.

Before any of you can react, the centipedes swarm toward you. Three seem to focus on Rupert, while the other two go after Orin and Edrukk. Despite his surprise, Rupert is able to fend off his three, but Edrukk and Orin aren't as lucky.
The dwarf feels the creature's mandibles latch onto his leg, ripping at his thigh. 4 points of damage, please make a fortitude save Orin's centipede rears up, giving the half-elf a scare as its mandibles close around his neck, but the potentially deadly blow scores just a glancing hit, barely scratching him. 1 hp, fort save
Rupert slashes back at one of the three on him, splitting it down the middle and spilling ichor over the cavern and drawing a scream from the mite.
Treshiell's action seems to have no effect on the centipede, and she realizes it probably doesn't have enough of a mind for her hex to affect it.
As Agnar and Edrukk begin rallying their companions through music and magic, Orin's swing goes wide.
The mite seems to stare for a moment at Treshiell -- its eyes bugging out -- and for a moment the young witch feels as if her doom is approaching before she's able to shake the feeling off. The mite turns and scurries as fast as its legs will carry it toward the tunnel to the east. Sorry, just noticed in my earlier description I said the other tunnel ran to the west instead of the east.

Rupert slashes one of the centipedes, but it continues to move, rising up to strike again.
As Treshiell gestures, the light seems to blind the mite, who freezes, blinking furiously as she tries to clear her head and resume her flight.
As Orin's swing goes wide, Agnar casts up and casts his protective magic on the dwarf, who immediately feels the tension on his joints from the poisoning stop, though the stiffness from before persists.
The poison doesn't seem to hamper his attack, though, a crushing blow that splatters one of the centipedes.

Orin's foe manages to bite him again, but again does little damage. Fighting off any further effects of the poison coursing through his system, Orin slashes back, splattering the many-legged bug across the cavern.
The poison continues to hinder Rupert another 1 dex damage, stiffening the former bandit and hindering his attack. Along with the cramped quarters, it throws off his aim just enough to keep him from hitting one of the two remaining centipedes, though he is able to fend off their attacks.
Treshiell's rock goes wide of its intended target, clattering against the cavern's dirt wall.
As Edrukk dispatches one of the remaining centipedes, and Agnar misses the final one, the mite turns and runs from the room through the eastern tunnel, her voice raised in -- you assume -- some sort of alarm.

Treshiell glares into the darkness as it swallos the mite, but once the creature is out of sight her features turn from vengence back to normal. "אנחנו יוצאים כדי להציל את הפסל, הפסל הקדוש ביותר לנו. אנחנו שומעים שן שארפ חד שיניים, אם שן שארפ פעם שיש.", she starts to sing and takes a step forward and lays her hand on Orin's shoulder. Orin places his hand over the young witch's and smiles down at her "Thank you" he says before moving into action "After her, we can't give them time to react" he shouts, following the fleeing mite into the tunnel, humming a strange, infectious tune he doesn't seem to know the words to.

Agnar Hrolfson |

Agnar frowns. "Edrukk, Treshiell, go with Orin. I'll try to get Rupert fixed up best I can and we'll be along. Hold still now, Rup. We need to stem the venom's advance before it overwhelms you. Drink this while I apply this poultice to the bite..."
Agnar will use a dose from his healer's kit and tend Rupert, hoping to overcome the venom. Healing check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

In the centipede cavern, Agnar thinks he's done what he can for Rupert, who doesn't seem to be suffering any new effects from the poison.
Those who ran ahead enter a damp room haphazardly cluttered with broken beds, chairs, wagon wheels, and an assortment of worn, tattered, dingy, and broken objects pilfered or salvaged from big folk.
A row of bookcases stands crookedly propped against the far wall, the shelves filled with bits of bone, feathers, and dried centipede legs. Old window frames, cracked and splintered, hang upon the wall like works of fine art.
Four mites have been alerted by the entry and screaming of the centipede keeper, who you see duck around an outcropping to the south, and they stand ready to attack as you enter.
You can't actually see the entire cavern based on where you are and the cavern's curve around a rock outcropping to the south.

Seeing Rupert on the mend, Agnar gives the man a slap on the shoulder. "Best catch up with the rest, or they'll have all the fun without us," he grins. Then he proceeds through the tunnel. Seeing the mites rising to defend their lair, he touches his holy symbol and mutters a prayer for protection, a shimmering field of green dancing briefly about him before fading again. Agnar will move through, stopping behind Treshiell. At the end of his move he casts shield of faith.
