DungeonMaster

Zakan attacks twice and finds weak spots, killing one kobold and hurting another, nearly killing it
you didn't roll sneak attack for any of the rolls, but you do have an ally next to one so... sneakattack: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 and the 2nd kobold dies as well.

Yolanda is up.

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

did they leave me anything...lol

Looking around, Yolanda finds a target and swings her hammer at it.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"This is what I was created to do." says Three in response to Yolanda's unspoken comment. He then flicks the blood off of his blade onto another nearby Kobold.

DungeonMaster

Yoland strikes the barbarian kobold true and finishes it.
The rest of the kobolds go forwards. don't forget, there was like 30 of them.

4 of the kobolds try to strike Yolanda with dagger

I'm going to use average damage, if hit take 1d4+2 or an average of 4.5 dmg per hit, with the first normal hit doing 4 and the second normal hit doing 5. The 3rd normal hit doing 4, etc. If crit, take 7 dmg.

DungeonMaster

Ignore additional hits on you if you drop to 0, all heroes are up

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

Three moves over to help out Yolanda.

Going to spend a Ki point to use Flurry of Blows to make two unarmed attacks as a bonus action.

Rapier Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage Roll: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Elaith summons another snowball storm at the kobolds surrounding Yolanda. Blue square.

Snilloc's Snowball Swarm dmg: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1) = 9 Dex save DC 14 for half.

DungeonMaster

Three kills three kobolds, as he slices and punches, wow, what a lucky name.
dex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (5) = 7
dex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (2) = 4
dex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (19) = 21
dex: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (3) = 5 And Elaith kills 3 kobolds and injures a 4th one.
Yolanda and Zakan are up (Zakan I haven't calculated, Yolanda I know will have to make death saves. You might be able to pick each other up and run, use diplomacy or something else considering you destroyed half their numbers, their wizard and barbarian.)

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

Death Save: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

Zakan is barely holding on. He breaths heavily and takes a step back. He shouts Lay down your arms or the rest of you shall perish like your fallen friends.

Persuasion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Zakan has 4 health left. If they seem unwilling to surrender zakan will make the following attack.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

DungeonMaster

They all sheath their weapons and someone stabilizes Yolanda.
okay, then, what have you really come here for?

Inactive

"We are heading to the town of Blasingdell."

DungeonMaster

Oh, well then, you thought you'd use the cave underground passage to get there instead of open world travel, thinking it is safer. This cave is filled with kobolds. Hey, we were defending our territory. The boss would rather loot your dead bodies, but he, mr. barbarian is dead. As they say with relief. And lead you out.
That ends part 6-1 But feel free to roleplay out whatever you like.

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

Well you held your own, quite the battle. Sorry for the confusion. Do you know anything about Blasingdell?

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

Three watched Zakan interrogate the Kobolds without saying anything. That was clearly not his forte.

Inactive

"Do you leave in these caverns?"

DungeonMaster

Rewards
6-1, A thousand tiny death. 600 xp, 89.5 gold per person. 5 downtime, 1 renown, potion of healing, potion of acid resistance, scroll of invisibility. Date was 11-23-17. Dci is 4103-771-833 again. Permed items is...cloak of protection (+1 to ac and saving throws, must attune).

No it is a dead end. You wanted the empty cave nearby.
and they lead out out and into Blasingdell.

Forge of Fury
As you travel north from the mining town of Blasingdell, you pass through brooding pine forests and deep vales. From where you stand now, you catch sight of a tall, steep hill that rises to a prominent bare knob of rock--the Stone Tooth. A thin spire of smoke rises from some unseen point high on the hill's slopes, and you can make out a steep, narrow road or track that runs back and forth across the face of the mountainside.

There are four ways to get into the forge, the mountain door, the chimney, the orc tunnel, or the Dark Mere, not check needed. Or you can travel upon the hilltop, which is not an entrance, requires athletics 15 to accomplish and an hour, but allows you to scout the area. what do you do?

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

Three would want to scout the area, but that takes time and is a decent Athletics check to make.

Inactive

I don't mind waiting down here, while our more athletic members scout up there. I can (and tbh, want to) take a short rest and recover one 2nd level spell slot with my Arcane Recovery.

Unless Zakan wants the scroll of invisibility, I'd like to take it. Don't really need the potions or the cloak.

Also, will cast mage armor while we're outside of combat.

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

I can wait, also I'd like to nab the cloak

DungeonMaster

Yolanda is not athletic either, so it looks like neither of you are climbing the hill. Where would you like to enter?

Inactive

Well then. I vote for mountain door. I'd still take a short rest to restore some HP for those who got hit and to have one 2nd level spell slot.

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

Sorry for the silence, but was getting slammed at work for the last week or so (budget time!)

Yolanda looks at the hill and shakes her head.

Nope...no way I am going to try that! Most likely get part way up then fall all the way back down!"

DungeonMaster

Um Elaith, everyone got a long rest before moving onto this part.
You completed a module and moved into another chapter of the book. Alright, do others want the mountain door as well?

Inactive

Ah. Got it.

Well then, let's just enter through the door, what you say?

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

Fine by me

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"If that's the way you all want to go." says Three without further comment.

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

"Sure, but let me take a look first. My people have been known to make doors which require more than a key to open."

Would this just be a perception roll? Also would stonecunning or smith tools gain me any advantage?

DungeonMaster

The heroes enter through the mountain door, it opens okay. Two Orcs turn to face you. Go away, we are keeping out intruders. Unless you want to pay us. Yeah, 200 gold from each of you, and we will pretend to go to sleep pretending you all knocked us out. After all they don't pay us enough to watch this door, but if you don't go away or pay us, we will fight you and take the money from you ourselves. They don't say this loud as they don't want it to echo.

Beyond the door is 80 feet hallway of cave, 15 feet wide, which opens up into a opening 55 feet by 20 feet. You are like right at the the door and they are in the hallway.

Inactive

"Someone pays you to watch the door? Why?"

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"200 gold each is enough to start your adventuring career. Are you saying that you're both adventurer material? If so, what would you bring to an adventuring party?"

DungeonMaster

We have to make a living somehow and they pay us so little, why we can start our own business doing this. And really it is, each of you pay us 200 gold, or we kill you and tell the others you're here. Or you can leave. But we also know the cave, pay us and we help you through the cave. Cause if you help us kill the others, then we don't have to split profits and loots with those raiders. As they have their weapons raised.

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"You missed something in your math there: There are more of us, and we are already adventurers. I might be willing to give you 50 gp total to go away and bother someone else, but that's about all you're getting from me."

DungeonMaster

50 GP?
The other one responds
That's well worth it, but I don't know, he did say maybe.
They put their heads together and whisper for a minute
Then they respond Okay, you all clear this place out for us for free, we are going to pretend like we never saw you in case you don't live and it doesn't come back on us. But I want you to remove the bodies and turn this into an underground restaurant bar. We can handle the food and drink, as we are hunters, gathers and farmers of sort, and we have a little bit of gold to invest and get this place started. All you have to do is advertise for us and get people in here, as well as help us decorate the underground when we buy the supplies. Boss would never allow such a thing,
others think the only worthy way of getting gold is by raiding and stealing.
And they put out their hands to shake on it.

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

Three shrugs and says to the group "Okay, I guess we're in the restaurant business now." he then hands them 50 gp.

Inactive

"Nothing wrong with that. Might become a great inn."

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

Ill be back for drinks before too long Zakan says with a wink.

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

Yolanda simply stares at the orcs with loathing.

Sould have killed them...selling-out their own people...disgusting!"

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"They're trying to make a better life for themselves, without resorting to violence. I'd think you'd respect that."

Female dwarf Warpriestess 13 | HP: 146/146 | AC: 26(30) | Init: +5 | Passive Perception 13 | Speed 25 ft |

"You talk like they are sentient or something. They are ORCs! They know nothing more than death and destruction. They deserve nothing better from us than a swift death! How could you respect a wolf who acts the dog, but is still a wolf inside? They are creatures...vermin, nothing more...Bah, do what you will, but nothing good can come out of this."

Yolanda brushing past the others, glaring at the orcs the entire time.

Just to make it clear, as a dwarf, Yolanda HATEs orcs and goblins above all else. Just playing this more-or-less stereotype out is all..not trying to be a jerk or anything!

Human Monk 4 Max HP: 27 | AC: 17 | Saves: Str: +2; Dex: +6; Con: +1; Int: 0; Wis: +5; Cha: 0 | Initiative: +4

"Wolves are people too!" calls Three at Yolanda's disappearing back.

Male HP:27/27 Ac:16 Half-Elf Rogue(3):Arcane Trickster

At least they all die the same, orc, elf, dwarf. Blood is blood.

Inactive

"I guess we'll see what happens after the inn is opened."

DungeonMaster

Everyone moves around the corner and into the next room stealthy with advantage as the Orcs help you sneak into the room and give you pointers as to how to distract them and move in. If you have stealth 15 or higher, act in surprise round, 4 orcs in this next room within a single move.
