I'm just going off what I saw in the rules: 'attacker's choice'. That's great for me in this situation since my STR is -1 and my DEX is +0. In a more Pathfinder mindset that just means that the player is free to use their better stat in melee weather they are a brawn or finesse fighter?

I realize I have a vested interest in my own interpretation, so really I'm just putting out my train of though since I just looked it up before I posted :) I'm cool either way.

LOL...no problem..I actually did not see the 'player's choice'. Where is that listed in the book?
Ok..I will retcon the battle and you will need to roll damage of 1d6-1 to the goon!

It is so the finesse golden gloves boxer or fencer and the power house bodybuilder and broadsword are equally represented in game. Just so you know. Been playing traveler since the days you could die in character generation so if you have any questions I will try to answer them now that I am not sleeping 20 out of 24 hours.

Well you have all mustered out and you have a number of ship shares, but no ship yet. You will need to talk to someone (Navy, scout or a broker) about what is available, and then figure out how to spend you shares (each representing 1% of the cost of a vessel).

Ship Shares: 21 Yacht/15Else (2 Myrian; 4 Marissa, 10/4Benjamin, 5Mark, 0 Spazmodeus)
Spazmodeus also has a Ship's Boat (the standard Yacht also comes with a Ships Boat)
I'm guessing we own 21% of a yacht (plus any contribution Arknight makes?, and Benjamin gets to be in charge with the largest stake? That seems slightly concerning, he seems like a bit of a wildman.

For clarity can everyone please re-list their ship shares?

I have 1 Ship Share as well as Free Trader, so I could put forward:
6 Free Trader shares
or
3 Any shares

I am willing to be a little more lenient with the swap of ship shares and allow a 1:1 trade for any of the 3 vessels, giving you a flat 21 shares for whichever of the 3 you would like. All are standard (at the moment) without weapons and in various states of repair. This will give you almost 1/4 ownership of your own vessel!!!
Also, you can retrofit the ship however you want...it will just add to the cost....

Charlotte has three shares that she can donate.

Let's just check the count then an make sure it's still 21. I don't think Charlotte is in the original 21 count...

Solomon: 6 shares
Charlotte: 3 shares
Thaddeus: 0 shares

I only have 2 (and 35k credits,but I don't think that gets very far).

4 shares of whatever we pick.

So we own 25% of something. I suppose the ship we pick depends largely on what kind of future we see ourselves having. Options that I see are:

Pirates

Smugglers

Honest Merchants

Mercenaries

Explorers/Prospectors

I'm not against buying a yacht and setting ourselves up as a luxury cruiser and then hijacking rich passengers, but it seems like the kind of thing that only works once.

and I'm sure there are others.

I sort of lean toward (honest) smugglers, though we could probably take some merc work here and there. I'm feeling a free trader over a yacht I suppose, but I'm ok with the majority choice.

I'm all in for free trading or smuggling, honest or not. Charlotte isn't the type to shy away from a little underhanded work.

Some how I see this guard pointing his weapon at us and all of us ignoring him while we have a normal everyday conversation about things. Frustration ensues.

It's cool, he's power tripping. We murder his face later is all.

I am making a preemptive apology to everyone with whom I am involved in games. My posting for the next month or so will be sporadic. For games I am playing, I will try to check in once a day. For games I am running, there may be gaps of a few days between moves. I ask that folks not give up on me.

This is convention season for me. I am scheduled to attend four conventions in the next month, one as staff. This means a LOT of prep time (as I am running at least three games at each convention, all of which I need to actually write).

Anyway, this is just a heads-up to let you know what is happening. If you must drop me, I understand. I would prefer that if I get behind, you just have my character do what seems logical. Thanks.
