Edric moves back down into the other room, grabbing his crossbow on the way there, he looks to see if he could get a shot off at the fleeing woman.

Edric moves down into the other room, 4 down, 1 south-east another 1 down, hopefully he could have a shot.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d8 ⇒ 7

Marhok sprints after the woman with a fervor most people wouldn't have seen before. "Get back here! I'm not finished chopping at you yet."
He tries to move past her, aiming to come just to the left of her.

I'm not trying to move through her, just past her. If I can't make it to the left of her as part of the move action I'll halt south of her. Hopefully negating the reach of her glaive by that roll.

You are successful. She pauses looks to each side and screams in frustration and attacks again after stepping back

Edric approaches the woman with a death stare in his eyes. He stands defensively over Marhok's unconscious body.

"You're not done yet here." He says as drops the crossbow and grabs out the new dagger.

I don't think Edric could move and heal at the same time, so he moves over Marhok's body, trying to shelter him from more harm.

A big moment...luckily the only reason she attacked you was she was trapped she flees.

Edric immediately delivers the last of his healing to Marhok and uncorks every other potion he still has with him.

Would put me back at either 16 or 17 hp, scared s$#!less and fatigued.

Thought as much, if was very painful to be sure :) Only question is, was this the last I had to do to clean up the traitors? I believe I've got some rooms left to explore. Also I'd probably need to rest up to get to level 3?

Unnamed

there is one more red herring room, with nothing in it, but the traitors are all dead, save the one that just escaped.

Loot:

a locked box, that you cannot get into without a key or DD. A shortsword, a dagger, and leather armor and a wand of spiritual weapon with 9 charges

Status Marhok:
HP: 28; AC: 20, T: 14, FF: 16; CMB: +7; CMD: 21; Fort: 6, Ref: 4, Will: 3 (+2 in Rage); Init: +8; Perception: +8; Speed: 30 feet
Unchained Barbarian (Titan Mauler) 2

Finally found the time to update Marhok and resume the game. Sorry Mini.

Marhok carries the locked box with him and takes the short sword and dagger as well, not that he's going to use them though.

Edric picks up the wand of spiritual weapon and stows it safely in his belt.
"This should come in handy once. Perhaps at least as a distraction."

Marhok nods and hoists the leather armour over his shoulder.
"We'd better return to Neathholm and report our success. That way we could also get Anevia, Arvanshnial and Horgus to come back with us if they feel they can travel again."

Edric nods in agreement and packs up the rest of the stuff they found.

After checking the other red herring room Marhok and Edric head out back to Neathholm to report back their success to the chieftain.

Unnamed

Everyone is glad to see Marhok and the chief nods at the news of the destruction of the traitors.

that morning star is +1 btw, and what do you do about that locked box

He carried it with him to Neathholm. Also was the captured and bound mongrel still there? If so he would have been taken with Marhok and Edric back to Neathholm as well.

Marhok nods back to the chief.
"It was my pleasure, though the trials have been difficult. Might I ask for one of your best locksmiths or lock-openers to see to this chest? I found it among the traitor's camp, perhaps it contains valuable information or equipment."

Unnamed

I know you took it but how are you going to open it? The captive was still there and he was immediately executed by the chief

Unchained Barbarian (Titan Mauler) 2

That's why I'm asking the mongrel chief for his best locksmiths. I can't open it, so I hope someone in Neathholm can.

"Or perhaps Anevia could open it for us?" Marhok says as he looks to woman. "It might contain something very useful for us, the way to the surface looks clear now."

Edric pokes in on the conversation and whispers to Anevia.
"Perhaps you could see it as a service for friends that will see you return safely to the surface?"

The lockbox
holds a small leather pouch containing an assortment of
semiprecious gemstones (three chips of lapis lazuli worth
10 gp each, two bloodstones worth 50 gp each, a citrine
worth 50 gp, and a white pearl worth 100 gp) as well as a scroll
ef bear's endurance and a scroll ef remove disease. The lock box
also contains long, thin darkwood sword case worth 200 gp.
As mentioned in the orders (see Handout #1), the
contents of the long darkwood case is the greatest
treasure present. The case is not locked-inside lies a
breathtaking longsword-a weapon of obviously superior
craftsmanship with a razor-sharp blade that appears to
be made of shining gold.

Marhok peers inside lockbox and pulls out the scroll and potions handing them to Edric.
When he draws out the sword case with the letter he whistles in a low tone. "Didn't expect anything like this to be in here."

Edric is quick to grab the note and reads it out loud.
After reading the note, he looks alerted and dumbstruck at the same time.
"This note confirms a cell of traitors within Kenabres and also their safehouses. Marhok, we must root them out, we must deliver this message to the authorities in Kenabres!"

Marhok grabs the note back and says on a calm tone.
"I know, I know, calm down already Edric. It is alarming indeed, but we can't rush everything. We also need to keep this relic safe until we can deliver it back to the museum or a safer place. Do you know anything of Yaniel's sword?"

He asks Edric, but also looks to Arvanshnial, though he knows he can't see.

Edric and Arvanshnial put there heads together

In 4692 AR, soon after the start of the
Fourth Crusade, a paladin of lomedae
and renowned demon slayer named
Yaniel spoke out against the Mendevian
crusaders, accusing them of negligence
and sloth, and claiming these faults
were what allowed Khorramzadeh to
invade Kenabres and damage the wardston e. Her accusations
cut too close to the truth, and in a moment of weakness her
superiors threatened to excommunicate her. Instead, she
said she would enter the Worldwound and fight the Fourth
Crusade on her own, with only her magic sword Radiance for
company. The church was happy to see Yaniel go, and in the 2
years that followed, she was thought to have been slain. Yet
when she returned to Kenabres in 4694 AR, leading a small
army of crusaders she'd rescued, both Yaniel and her superiors
had changed. For her part, Yaniel had shed her pride and
insubordination, and had gained a new appreciation for the
difficult decisions leaders are forced to make. And the church
leaders had learned that sometimes the truth is exactly what
you need to hear. Alas, Yaniel was assassinated before the
year was out, slain by the lilitu demon Minagho only a week
into her second personal crusade. Her followers managed
to return to Kenabres with Radiance, but Yaniel's body had
been taken. The sword had gone dark after Yaniel's death, its
magical powers apparently lost, and so the crusaders elected
to place it in the Gray Garrison on display. Yet several months
ago it was stolen...

Marhok looks at the blade with curious eyes, inspecting it carefully from tip to handle.
"So this is a relic. It looked special, but somehow I had thought it to be more special. We should return this then."

He looks to Edric and then Anevia, Horgus and speaks to Arvanshnial.
"Are you all ready to travel back to the surface? Edric and I haven't checked above ground yet, so we're not sure what the state of the city is at this point. Horgus, yu're probably fit to travel, but how are you two, Anevia and Arvanshnial? I could send a messenger to you when we're certain that everything is safe in the city."

"Alright then, let's head out. Chief, I thank you very much for your hospitality to us, I will send word when I've spoken to the leaders of Kenabres and brought them your word of alliance."

Marhok shows he has at least a bit of etiquette and bows to the chief and then heads out with the three fellow 'fallen' Kenabrians to the exit and the surface.

Before they go, Marhok leaves a part of the loot he gathered at the mongrel's camp, selling it off for gemstones again.

Selling:
Dagger, mwrk Chain shirt, Short Sword, wand of Longstrider (10 charges), Obsidian unholy symbol (20gp), leather armour, mwrk warhammer, brass bull symbol (50gp). Total of 511 gp

As the PCs emerge from the sewers, they step into a city vastly
different from the one they left at the start of the adventure.
Regardless of how long the PCs spent underground, the
tremors and demonic attacks have devastated the city,
leaving it a smoking, apocalyptic ruin. Deep chasms riddle
the city, while the paths of enormous demons have left
ruinous trails of rubble extending out from the city's heart.
Above, the once-familiar skyline of Kenabres and forever
changed-the tower of the Kite and the Cathedral of St.
Clydwell having been completely destroyed, while elsewhere
plumes of dark smoke still rise from the smoldering remains
of burned-down buildings. Fat buzzards wheel above in skies
scarred by red smoke and black clouds. The Worldwound
has expanded its borders, and now the city of Kenabres is
enveloped in it.

The city feels deserted, with cries of pain and anguish echoing through the strangely empty streets. A few looters are seen in the distance and a few try to take on the party and are quickly dispatched.

No problem there Mini, real life interferes sometimes.

Marhok cleans his ranseur with a cloth, wiping the blood off the blade from the last looter that troubled them.

"What a homecoming," He states simply staring in front of him.
"I expected something bad to have happened, but not this."

Edric looks over the city streets with a sad look upon his face as well.
"So what do we do now? where to Marhok?"

Marhok shakes his head.
"Not sure, I guess we'd best seek some remnants of the guard or other authority that's still standing. We'd need to see what we can do to help in restoring order back to Kenabres."

"As you wish, but be careful I might not be able to protect you all while we investigate."

Not sure where we are in the city exactly, but I'll assume the trade district is reasonably close.

Marhok walks with his ranseur out towards the trade district where he and Edric assume 'Topaz Solutions' is.
"Anyone of you know where exactly this 'Topaz Solutions' is? And what it might be exactly?" He asks of the three people accompanying him.

share a small home in eastern Kenabres-she asks the PCs

her wife's whereabouts.

"My knowledge of Kenabres pertains mainly to the most obvious landmarks and important buildings. If we come near your home, please say so and we can make a detour from there on."
