Arvanshnial begins casting a spell and a round later a Lantern Archon appears. Arvanshnial knowing that they needed light, summons the being he thinks would be most beneficial.

Edric takes another swing at the creature in front of him, while he hears his friend struggle with the other one.

The Lantern Archon moves over to where Marhok dropped his ranseur and casts Continual Flame on it, dispelling the darkness cass by the bat-like critters.

"Finally" Marhok exclaims as he looks closer to the crittr before him. "You're an ugly little bugger aren't you? Let's make that even uglier."

Attack Marhok, two-handed Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 3 = 16

I'm not sure, but doesn't the Continual Flame continue to dispel the area of darkness around Marhok? I'm thinking that darkness is a second level spell and Continual Flame is a 3rd level spell. Darkness couldn't dispel it.

In any case I'll continue attacking. Depending on if the second darkness works the archon might do something else.

Edric follows the critter he was in combat with and decides to smack him in the head. Attack, Flank: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 2 = 31d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Yeah the rules are not really specific about it, I was confused at first as well.

Attack Marhok, Two-handed Power Attack, Flank: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 = 251d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 3 = 11

"Oh now you're just all alone eh? Perfect. Edric go around him."

Edric moves in to the other side of the creature, but not in a position yet to flank. I envision the map in the worst possible way for this, but it still works just fine

Edric attacks the critter with his morningstar after whihc Marhok sidesteps and can flank together with Edric.

Marhok sighs a deep relief as the last creature falls.
"Remember me that in my next life I should be a dwarf." He looks to the srains the creature put on his neck and arms.
"Not my kind of battle, not my kind of battle at all."

He walks back to Arvanshnial and the other two and thanks him heartily for his help.
"Arvanshnial thank you for summoning that glowing creature of light. I don't think I would have survived elsewise. My deepest thanks if I can repay the favour when we're back to the surface just let me know."

Edric looks up in surprise at the wolf and seems glad.
"Seek him out, seek out the dwarf." He says, but he knows the wolf probably can't understand him.

Using scent, at least try to determine where the dwarf is and attack him.

When the wolf confirms that the dwarf is still near, Edric will also swing his morningstar wildly in that place.

Okay, that was surprising. Randomly hostile and crazy dwarf attacks, vanishes and flees.

Marhok wakes after about half a minute and shakes his head as if to clear out the blur.

"What happened? I saw all these colours and suddenly everything went black."

Edric pats the wolf on its neck before moving over to Marhok.
"I believe it was a simple spell that struck you down, sorry to say so."

"Agh. My head still hurts from that, I hope I never see that dwarf again. Drunk dwarves I like, but crazy dwarves are a whole different story."

Marhok and Edric pick up their stuff and go to the group of followers.
"Thanks for your support, both of you. I didn't expect to be knocked out so easily. Arvanshnial, can you still use that wand of yours? I feel like that sort of life's shield has diminished already."

Assuming he still has a charge left. False Life: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

"Let's head out, see if there's a way out close to here."
Marhok leads the way again, looking for any signs of immediate danger (taking 10 for 16), closely followed by Edric leading Arvanshnial, Anevia and Horgus.

Edric meanwhile tries to strike up a conversation with Arvanshnial and asks:"Sir Arvanshnial? You've told me you were a mage that creates and sells items of power. Could you tell me something more about yourself and your work? I'm quite intrigued by the arcane arts in contrast to the divine magics I've been taught to wield."

"Ah ok, perhaps we can fix your eyesight eventually. I'd love to see your work when we get back."

Edric then tries to get Horgus to talk a bit more, assuming he's walking close by.
"Lord Gwerm?" Edric begins, as he knows he likes to be called that. "Might I ask a fellow follower of Abadar what you do in the city of Kenabres? You're a lord right? So you must hold some influence and power inside the city correct? Why would it be so important for someone in higher society to be a follower of Abadar, there's no shame in that is there?"

Marhok stuffs the rations and the marble statuette in his pack and motions the others to head out.

Edric chit-chats with Arvanshnial and Anevia about trifling matters, but feels that all three of their new companions seem a bit closed off. He likes Anevia and the elderly elf the most, as Horgus seems to be a bit stuck up, but perhaps money does that to you.

When the group comes across the new room, Marhok and Edric looks in wonder at the humanoids trying to clear stones off of the tower.

"What should we do Marhok? We could get the element of surprise on them if we attack now."

Give me a chance and I could make a point of making survival be a check that makes sense as certain kind of traps also use simple leverage systems. Else I'm pretty sure an Int check would be appropriate as well, as using leverage seems to me like pretty common knowledge.
