As Uriana turns to walk toward the Lord Mayor's estate, Stone is briefly distracted by what looks like a large lunar moth. But upon closer examination it is something very different.

What looks like a tiny girl with larger luminescent wings flutters down from amongst the enormous statues. She flies near Elektra and in a strange tongue talks.

@Elektra:
Elektra hears through the strange tongue Elvish. It is as clear as though it was spoken by your mother, "Your hair is so lovely and golden. I am here to help you. Will it be joyful?"

With a sudden start Elektra looks at Glistenwing. Breaking into a sudden rarely seen smile from the soul she replies."Will it be joyful? Sometimes. I will not lie and have to say, that there will be moments of saddness and danger. But whenever there is a chance, we will have singing and laughing and dancing. It will be for sure... interesting. But we really could use your help to lift our spirits in the other times!"

Garrath looks at Flynn with a quirked smile, "You're doing it wrong. If you threaten him with a slit throat, his incentive to talk is gone. It's quick and painless, and he's relieved. You have to make it last. And ask something specific. Then, hopefully, he'll not answer, and you break fingers and tie them in knots, one joint at a time, until he knows it won't end anytime soon, and then he tells you. On the plains we used two rocks and put fingers between them, it made the breaking easier." Garrath grabs a torch and burns a piece of wood from a weapon haft or breaks a piece of the desk off, and collects the soot and ash from it, and cuts his hand to bleed in the mix, making a paste that looks dark red. He starts to add stripes to his face looking at Flynn and the Judge, "There are rites and rituals that need to be observed for the ancestors to bless the information about to be received."

We where told that they have a history. But if you feel it's a good idea. I would think you would want to check out the scene and get all the facts first. But I will defer to you.


Uriana leads Elektra and Stone to the Lord Mayor's estate. She communicates that she urgently needs to see the Lord Mayor. Glistenwing remains outside.

The Lord Mayor was in his office. A scribe was by his side busy writing on a parchment. He turns his attention to Uriana, "Captain, what has happened." The Lord Mayor knows that the Captain does not come directly to him unless there is a problem needing his attention.

"Lord Mayor, these are two of the Heroes of Sandpoint. They have disturbing news concerning Judge Ironbriar." Uriana communicates this in her typical matter-of-fact fashion.

Elektra and Stone tells the story.

The Lord Mayor takes it in, "So you are saying that the cult in the Kaijitsu Villa were just thieves, and that Judge Ironbriar actually leads a cult of Norgorber? And this cult of Norgorber is behind the murders plaguing my city?" He ponders this for a moment. He is remarkably calm with learning this information. The corpulent man digest the conspiracy, "You have captured Ironbriar. So, it is over? He says that as if it were a statement, but it could also be a question.

Garrath looks at the judge, and then back to Flynn, before sitting cross-legged on the floor and starting to "listen". Then looks back up to Flynn, "My ancestors think he knows more about how the sacrifices are chosen." He looks at Ironbriar with calm malice, "They are not pleased." Garrath will take a finger width piece of wood from what Brandark is doing and snap it, "I will give you one more chance to speak clearly."

"I am speaking clearly," Ironbriar looks at the Shoanti Barbarian and fidgets a little, particularly when Brandark starts making kindling out of his office.

Flynn indeed senses that the Judge is not telling the whole story.

The Lord Mayor orders his scribe to draft a charter to the Heroes of Sandpoint. It gives the them the authority to act in the name of the Lord Mayor throughout the city. Grobaras signs the document and applies his seal. He then looks at Elektra and Stone, "Now you are working for me. Your Sheriff Hemlock has spoken very highly of you. Go and do what you must."

The Lord Mayor then looks at Uriana, "Captain, go and arrest that arrogant Judge and throw him into the Hells."

Uriana smiles knowing that this will likely be a death sentence for the Judge. The Captain knows of many prisoners that Ironbriar's unjustly sentenced to this horrible prison below Magnimar.

Elektra and Stone will realize that Sheila Heidmarch was not precise in understanding the relationship between the Lord Mayor and Judge Ironbriar.

Ironbriar looks at Flynn, "We are Skinsaws. We follow only Norgorber."

Ironbriar is correct about the Skinsaws. But you sense that there is something else going on here. Something that even Ironbriar is currently unable to betray.

If you roll below a DC 30 Sense Motive, you believe Ironbriar. And he is convincing in this as it is essentially the truth.

"We seek them to protect the people here. To help the good citizens of this city. We found a coven of murderers and could capture their leader. But we think he reports to someone else. Because he has messanger ravens."

I will follow the raven. But if it stops being joyful, then I am coming back.

First, Uriana heads back to the Arvensoar, "We need to pick up some of Magnimar's finest."

Then off to the Lumber Mill with a Elektra, Stone and a contingent of Magnimar guards. Little Glistenwing is there too flying near Elektra. When everyone arives, Elektra, Stone and Uriana with four other of Magnimar's guard head to the top floor where Brandark, Flynn and Garrath are holding Ironbriar and the other survivors of the Skinsaw cult. Several other guards begin to process the scene on the other floors.

Uriana begins to question everyone, taking notes as she goes. Another guard is with her. He often whispers into Uriana ears. Ironbriar weaves several contradictory yarns. But after a couple of hours, Uriana charges Ironbriar and the other Cultist with many of the recent murders in the city. Ironbriar is shackled along with the other Cultist. Uriana soon after leads them for further processing and internment into that horrible prison known as the Hells.

Elektra will follow stone write "soon" on a piece of paper and bind it to a raven, for her familiar to follow it.


Glistenwing seems distraught over the scenes at the Lumber Mill, "Life is too precious to be wasted this way."

She cheers up when she goes up to the rookery. Stone and Flynn are up there. Elektra prepares a message for one of the ravens. When Elektra releases the raven, Glistenwing follows, but not too closely. The raven heads due north across the city.

DC 20 Perception for those up in the rookery:
You can see in the daylight and high up in the rookery the city. You can see Glistenwing and the raven too. The raven appears to fly to the tallest structure under the Irespan, the Shadowclock.

Glistenwing wing returns and tells Elektra about the Raven's destination.

Elektra gets some of this from her knowledge of Magnimar, some from what Glistenwing observed, and some from the guards working the Ironbriar case: Hidden beneath the grimy, blackened goliath that is the Irespan, the lesser works of men huddle like weeds at the foot of the great trees that are the ruined bridge’s stone supports. Near one of these supports leans a decrepit and sagging clock tower, a dying structure of weathered stone, wood, and rusted metal supports that teeters to an unlikely height of over 180 feet. High above, near the tower’s roof and barely 5 feet from the Irespan’s stony belly, a tangle of scaffolding sits near a section of the structure that has fallen away. The tower’s clock face is frozen in time, defiantly (and falsely) proclaiming it to be 3 o’clock, while above, a stone statue of an angel, her wings crumbling, leans precariously, almost as if she were preparing a final leap from her decaying perch. The Shadow Clock is a minor marvel of engineering. The locals in the region half expect it to collapse any day, and several Underbridge taverns have longstanding betting pools on how many structures the clock tower will crush and how many people it will kill when it finally falls. Glistenwing saw what looked like a human female at the top of the tower.

Turning again to the other Elektra points to the the Shadow clock. "We have found our next step. On top is a female human. Let us investigate."


Glistenwing looks at Elektra with a smile, "Ummm, honeyraisins." The little creature looks at the party, I am Azaterikinatova, but I go amongst your kind by what the Gnomes call me, Glistenwing. I have been called to serve Elektra as long as she will have me. It is my joy." Each of you hear the small winged creature in your native tongue and dialect. Then suddenly a small flute appears into Glistenwing's hand. She plays a short but spirited melody.

With a few incantations Elektra will armor herself in a field of force and prepare all her spells and scrolls.

Elektra will again weave her hands in arcane gestures and conjure praying eyes.
