Not a big PDF buyer myself, but this is great news really. I love Rifts and the Palladium system in general.
I don't think this was any kind of responce to WotC but it is telling that as a whole the RPG Industry has embraced PDF's and tech, for better or worse, with the obvious exception of the 800lbs. gorrilla.
Thats getting off subject however in the end glad that Rifts is alive and well on the PDF market.

Palladium Books materials, for me, are actually a prime example of a PDF product I would buy up in an instant just to have access to the material, but have no interest in the dead-tree versions occupying space on my shelf.
I'm glad there's finally a route to get their materials this way.
Can't wait to see if the pricing and quality is reasonable.

Btw, can some explain to me the use of the word "deevil" instead of devil in the latest Palladium supp (Rifts® Dimension Book™ 11: Dyval, Hell on Earth™)? And the disclaimer at the beginning of the book? This is 2009, not 1989 or so.

Deevils are like...minor devils, IIRC (it's been a while, so forgive me). The warning in the beginning of the book has been in just about every Palladium book I've ever seen and is a holdover from the dark days of RPGs - which I don't see going away any time soon.

And the first wave is up.
I wasn't aware that Rifts went/will go to a second edition...
I wonder what it is like.

Holy carp!
This means I can FINALLY pick up a copy of Shadows of Light, the only Nightspawn book I never got to read.
Gahhhh!!!!! I can't find a print copy of that. ~sighs~ I guess I will have to get the PDF as well! The Nightbane RPG is a very good game to read. I would also love to play it sometime.

You two are in luck. That is the only Nightbane book up at the moment.

~wry smile~ So I see! I STILL want the dead tree version, however. ~grimaces~ PDFs have their uses, but they just can't beat a real book. IMHO.

If you have first, you basically have 2nd. Don't get me wrong I like some of the rules clean up, and basically I always loved the system, but even calling it revised is well, iffy, at best.

I know Kinko's and stores of it's like don't easily print and bind PDFs anymore... (Probably as an attempt to reduce piracy, but more likely to remove their liability.)
But I know a friend of mine can get them to give in if he brings a copy of the sales receipt. But only sometimes.
It isn't what you are looking for Sharoth, I know. But it is the best suggestion I have.

Ah, Palladium my love/hate mistress. I own every damn fantasy book in the series. In 1996 I traded AD&D 2nd ed. for Palladium fantasy 2nd ed.
In 1998 I converted the entire Night Below campaign to Palladium and set it in Krynn. Four years running that monster. Even now I can still hear her psi-ren(get it) call.

Wow. I suspect I see a lot of goths dressed all in white today, with black makeup in their faces, reciting upbeat poetry and generally rejoicing over the neverending joy that is life.
I then expect a couple of sheep to hunt down and devour a hapless wolf. :D
Truly, the world has turned upside down. Those who were touting the wonders of electronic versions of RPG as "the future" are getting quotes on mass produced stone tablets, while a company I know mainly from horror stories and which is often said to be very set it its ways embraces the future.

So they're scanned books and not OEF?
So I just downloaded the Rifts Core book.
It is clearly a scanned book. On some pages you can even see the "bend" in the text. The text is a tad bit blurry as well. Not eye straining bad, but if you are used to reading text on a monitor (as I suspect most reading this are) you can notice it.
I took the time to compare it to a copy I found, and it is a tiny bit worse.
All in all, not bad.
Bear in mind, these are pretty much ancient books. They were produced before PDFs became the new thing.
