"Thank you, Serry, I am coping as well as I can. And thank you all for agreeing to help, I am sure your work will make a difference in this city."

Wiping her tears away, the Princess straightens up. "I thank you for your hospitality, Captain, but I must go to the Palace and see my father's body, speak to the Queen and see what can be done to save his beloved city. Please make it happen quickly."

"As you wish!" The Captain leaves, barking orders to his men to make way for the harbor docks.

With strong resolution, the Princess speaks to you, with Lionel by her side. "My dear saviors, I know you have done so much for me already and I am ashamed to ask yet another favor of you, but if you could escort Lionel and I to the Palace, I would make sure you would be handsomely rewarded. What say ye?"

Todor Orban wrote:
Todor will approach the princess and Lionel. "Do either of you know this captain? Can we trust him with your secret?"

For Serry and Todor:
The Princess whispers: "We're going to have to, I cannot delay any longer and they're not listening to the Marine."

The Princess steps forward, unveiling the hood of her cloak, "Captain Bridgewater, a moment of your time. I am Princess Natasha Arabasti, daughter of our fair King Eodred Arabasti II." Audible gasps are heard throughout your ship, as the Captain and the crew genuflect.

Captain Fenris stammers, "My lady, had I known, I would have made your trip and accommodations much better."

"Silence, Captain Fenris, I hold no ill will toward you. Now, Captain Bridgewater, I am on urgent business and I need to reach the Palace as soon as possible so you must let my escort and I into the city at once."

The soldiers on the naval vessel stand at attention as well as its Captain. "Milady, I will have you and your escort brought on at once."

Sense Motive DC 17:
You sense some sadness in the Captain's voice, as he addressed the Princess.

The Princess happily accepts the water, drinking it and using it to soothe the marks on her wrists from the ropes.

Thank you all, pleased to make your acquaintance. I admire your service to the crown, especially at such a young age. I hope, if it's not too much trouble, and though I don't know where you're headed, you could escort Lionel and I back to Korvosa to see my father. He will surely reward you for your efforts here today. As for the bedrolls, trust me, in my journeys to all lands, I have slept in far worse, so I appreciate your kindness.

Lionel recommends burning the dead, as the stench will overwhelm you all and may attract predators. Then he and the Princess accept the 2 bedrolls and sleep as best they can, while the players keep guard in the caves. The rest of the night passes uneventfully, with all the evildoers either dead or driven off. You rise from your sleep around 2pm the same day. The storm has moved on and though cloudy, the rain is gone.

You may handle the split of treasure in the OOC thread.

Once freed of her bonds, the Princess thanks Todor and rushes to Lionel, putting his head on her lap. Todor’s healing stirs the guard but he is still not conscious. Serry’s healing wakes him up, and with tears in her eyes, she thanks the Halfling. She helps Lionel to his feet and says, Thank you all for your help. I am indebted to you and I owe you my life. I cannot imagine being covered in all those maggots! She shudders, as she looks at the jar. I will make sure that you are well compensated for your efforts here today. I see you are all very tired and it is near dawn. I am very eager to get back home. Thankfully, that scum over there never found this. The Princess reaches into the folds of her hair and produces a very small vial of amber-colored liquid. But it is probably best if we rest. Other than the scary looking half-orc who left, this was the extent of the group I believe.
