Hey everybody, glad to be selected! Thanks for the spot, Lucendar.
Looks like we are a little arcane deficient. I'd be more than happy to pick up some sorcerer levels and maybe the arcane/rogue prestige class (forgot the name right now) since we have another rogue in the party.
Anyway, happy to be here, and I'm up for any role the party needs.

Shel Whispertongue |

Hell, I'll let it roll, and see where the game takes Shel. Maybe sorcerer, urban ranger, or a little bit of all of the above, 1st edition style! I will definitely take one level of arcane, for the know arc, and spell craft as Callandor suggested.
Either way, excited to see the start of the game! I've never got to play in CoT before...

Tauni "Rabbit" Desba |

If need be, I could certainly fill in some of the Appraise/K: Arcana/Spellcraft role as well. They are all class skills for me. I do get just five skill points per level though, and I was looking at focusing on Diplomacy/Perception/Sense Motive.
I should have the crunch for Tauni finished up tonight as well.
Thanks for picking me for this one! I am really looking forward to it.
I think this will be an interesting experiment, going without an arcanist. I'll do everything I can to keep the others up and running, of course. My plan was to go the whole way as cleric (merciful healer) without any dips, but of course that could change if the story really calls for it. And to my thinking, if Tauni raises her morningstar in battle more than a few times, then I'm probably not doing something right.

Shel Whispertongue |

Don't dip, MoB. We need a full caster in the party! Let the rst of us figure out keeping the other bases covered. Knowing my luck in melee, I'm gonna need that glorious healing quite a bit, lol.

Great to be here, everyone. Thank you for the chance to play, Lucendar.
This should be a blast!
This evening I will work on reviewing the profile of Dwarf Loco Billo. I already see a few errors in the profile. I'll fix them up.
Don't expect any magical support from him. He is decidedly resistant to magic in substance as well as in attitude. (Expect him to be resistant to alot of things with respect to his attitude).
I shall play him as a Chaotic Good character - I think..
The Benefactress.
His backstory involves what appears to have been secret benefactor, who sent him perfumed letters while he was in prison . She (probably female) apparently paid for his freedom. Her identity is up to you. I hope you don't mind taking that plot idea on...and i hope it doesn't cramp your style.
I am not sure yet what Billo will think of this mystery lady. He usually has a low opinion of people in general .... but maybe he feels different about her. I will be exploring that in play.
His main strength lies in his athletic ability and effectiveness in the dark, in tight spaces and on difficult terrain. He is a night prowler. I intend to develop a vicious sneak attack.

Kaliana |

Greetings all, Glad to be here, thank you Lucendar.
I have a meeting at 6:30 but will finish up her stats later tonight.
kaliana looks forward to providing plenty of oportunities for our rogues to flank. As to skills, I only get 4 but I hope to make the most of them. like I said in my submission, I plan on being pretty good at disarming opponents, but should pack a decent punch with the curve blade. Down the road, critical feats might come into play.
Looking forward to foleplaying with eahc of you, though I'm a tad jealous oof Unspunnen (I love playing the stuborn dwarf!)

Unspunnen |

I hope I'm not speaking out of place here. Just sharing some ideas....
Maybe Shel should play the rogue as an urban ranger instead. Similar class features...a little tougher than rogue.
And I'd like to see the bullets flying from that slingstaff (martial weapon for halflings)...or not see them as they'll be zipping by so fast!
Also...the PFSRD offers up a racial trait variant - Warslinger - in place of "sure footed"...with this you can reload the sling as a free action.

Loco Billo Billcragg |

Actually, I would prefer no one switch classes at 1st level (feats, skills, sure). How you progress your character after that is up to you but I chose these classes so I would like to see it play out.
Well said.
I have been wrapping my head around character building lately and metagaming...rather than just playing....which I look forward to doing soon!
I corrected some errors. I think Loco is ready to go and itching for some action.

Tauni "Rabbit" Desba |

Rabbit, with my inquisitor bonuses and decent wisdom, I'll be a great sense motiver as well. Not to say you shouldn't take it, just something to keep in mind.
Well, I think it is a good skill to have doubled up on, though I don't know if she is going keep it maxed out as we go.

Lucendar |

Ok, please create/paste your character sheet into your profile. I want to try something I've seen a fellow player do in a PbP in which I am playing which I believe will make my life whole lot easier as DM. In the profile section, under the Race tab, instead of race, put your HPs, AC and Save scores and under the Class/Levels tab, put your Perception and Initiative bonuses. So next to your character name instead of it saying, halfling rogue 1, for example, it will say:
X (HP 11/11 AC 18/11/17 F +3, R +1, W -1, Initiative +0, Perception +5)
This will speed up combat as the main bonuses will be readily available to me without having to click on your profiles, which gets annoying very quickly when rolling initiative/saves/perception checks.
Thoughts? Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated.

Issues/Questions about sheet:
Halflings treat halfling sling staves as martial weapons so you are not proficient with this weapon as a ranged weapon

Loco Billo Billcragg wrote:I corrected some errors. I think Loco is ready to go and itching for some action. Some questions on sheet:
What is source for rockstepper racial trait?
Source for dwarf sapper engineer?
Source for hatchet?
"Rockstepper" is a racial variant from the Rival Guide. It takes the place of Stonecunning:
I found a reference to it here: PFSRD Dwarf Racial variants.
If you prefer I will just give him Stonecunning - which is also useful.
Sapper Engineer is made up by me. Engineering is not a class skill for rogues. I wanted him to have knowledge of engineering as a professional skill.... I wanted him to be a rogue with excellent delving know-how in ruins, on battlements, in sewers, among the rafters etc.... Many traits give +1 to a skill and turn a second skill into a class skill. I just used that formula. It also reflects some background as a labourer/excavator.
If you prefer a sourced trait...I might choose the "Grounded" dwarven trait instead.
"Hatchet" Sorry. I meant "throwing axe". In my mind it came out as "hatchet". I just fixed that for clarity.

1. I prefer stonecunning.
2. Sapper Engineer is fine.3. Please add AC, HP, saves, etc to the tabs in Loco's profile per my previous post. Thanks.

I used the tabs. Lets see how it looks.....
I switched to Stonecunning and took the Grounded Racial trait from Dwarves of Golarion to make up for the loss of mobility. I hope that's OK. I am still investing a rank in Engineering for flavour - but without the class bonus.
hmm...link doesn't work. But its there.

Oh, I did misunderstand, DM. My bad. I'll get that changed.

Kaliana |

Updated her sheet, I combined Name, race, class and level together as well.
Name: Kaliana, Half-Elven Fighter 1
Race ( HP 13/13 ) AC:17 FF:12 T:15
Classes/Levels F: +5 R: +2 W: +0 Initiative +3 Perception +0
Usually not a problem for me, but having trouble deciding on a second trait that fits her. Perhaps there is an intimidate oene..
One idea I had was this:
Lunging Roll - +1 acrobatics to avoid attack of Opportunity and acrobatics is a class skill
You've trained for countless hours, sparing against any opponent you could find, improving your footwork and timing. As a result you've learned to how to lunge and roll past opponents while avoiding their attacks.

Great, that works, Loco is done.

Aha! Profession: Mining and Excavation. Class skill. Wisdom based.

Race ( HP 13/13 ) AC:17 FF:12 T:15

No problem with the trait, Kaliana. Indicate on the sheet that fighter is a favored class and you took +1 hp at 1st level. Also write the benefit of Combat Expertise next to the feat to avoid having to look up penalty and bonus, if you ever use it.

To those not familiar with PbPs or my style of GMing, mechanics wise, here are my guidelines:
I roll initiative for each member in alphabetical order and the monsters and then list them in numerical order
Unless the PC states he is actively searching, I roll Perception checks
In my world, all movement, even diagonal, costs 1 square, unless it's difficult terrain
I assume you know the PF rules and may warn you about an AoO the first time but only once (example, moving through threatened square or shooting ranged weapon in a threatened square)
I usually roll saves unless failure may result in a PC's immediate death, then I let the player roll
I specifically requested players who could post multiple times per day in the Recruitment so I reserve the right to dismiss you if you do not keep up your end of the bargain. Obviously, I understand if RL interferes but as long as you give notice, it is fine, as long as it is not habitual
I reserve the right to NPC your character if you are holding up combat
Please be patient with my maps (they will not be works of art), I don't have Maptools, I use Excel and images I find on the internet, but they will convey the general idea of positioning and area
I picked your characters mainly for their value rp-wise, so express it in play with NPCs
I try to be realistic with NPCs and their reactions to the players, both out of and in combat
I don't appreciate obvious metagaming in game (example a vicious looking bugbear appears and kills a king's guard in one blow and you yell out to the party: bugbears have max 27 hps, we can take him out!)
I love cinematic scenes/moments in combat so you will see them often
I reveal all my die rolls in combat and believe in the mantra, let the dice fall where they may, so death is always a possibility
Finally, this is my new pet peeve: I am familiar with the common tactics of PbPers where you go to write a skill or combat post, preview the die roll, see a low number, and instead post something insignificant or ask a dumb question or post without the check..i.e. a delaying post in order to avoid the die roll and get a new one in a new post. I am intelligent and aware of the practice, so don't do it. It annoys me and if I see you doing it often, know I can do it too to kill your character, and it is easier for me since I usually have more die rolls than you. Clear?
Well, that's it for now. Please feel free to comment on my style/guidelines, as I'm always looking to improve.

Perhaps Billo is acquainted with Tauni.
Coming out of prison he would have been haggard and decrepit. She seems like the compassionate sort...perhaps she offered to help him recover in exchange for some assistance - perhaps in helping her with her search...helping her find her way ... or maybe staking something out ... or just keeping his eyes open for something.
I made some small adjustments to Billo' skills.

Callandor's info is ready for review.
Notes:
You are missing a traitThe additional bonus on Knowledge skills to ID creatures is +2 not +1
Indicate on the sheet that Inquisitor is your favored class and you took +1 hp at lst level
List benefits and duration of Shield and Wrath spells
Judgment has no "e" in it, lol

All updated. Would you like me to add the purity of faith trait save bonus (+1 to saves vs all effects originating from evil outsiders) to the description line? I added the base +1 to will saves already.
