jeweled tiara (350 gp)
Silver pendants
pouch of magic aura beans,
heavy steel shield (neither the armor or shield are magical),
Three beaten copper bowls
golden plate mail (x3)
long swords (x3)
rod,
a lens
and a bronze skull.
--------
Okay, by my count this is what we have to sell. DM, the is the rod and the wand of magic missiles the same item, or is there a rod as well as a wand?
And does anyone know what a bag of magic beans does other than grow a beanstalk?
DM, can you tell me the value of the pendants and bowls, and skull, and the lens? And finally, is golden plate mail worth more than regular plate mail?
brvheart
You should have six players. Shandar will be back and Naomi is back.
The rod and wand are two separate items.
Naomi Chadwick
so once we figure the value of the items we acquired we can sell the mundane stuff, then take the 600 gp, (500 for info, 100 for map) off of the top, I would also take the supplies cost from that as well then split up the rest.
Brvheart is Uthala going with us or will she be staying here? If she is not going I would let her keep the ranger gear, but not the +1 cleaver, I would sell it.
brvheart
You might get a few gold for the pendants. The bowls are worthless and the skull is so evil you take a negative level just having it in your possession paladin. The mail is just colored gold and is normal plate. Uthala is pledged to you for a year.

would Hagrym be able to "detect evil" on the skull and figure that out?
Hagrym
Yes, clearly if it pinged at evil, Hagrym wouldn't dicker around with it. He'd use the admantine scepter to smash it into a thousand bits.
jeweled tiara 350 gp
Silver pendants 15 gp
pouch of magic aura beans,
heavy steel shield (20 gp),
golden plate mail (x3)
long swords (x3) 45 gp
1. I think there were five pendants? Is that right? You said "a few gold," so to me that means three apiece. If that isn't fair, let me know.
2.What is a pouch of magic beans good for other than growing a big ole beanstalk, obviously? Should we try to sell them, or just keep them?
3. Is the plate mail full plate, half plate, or field plate?
Those should be my last questions before selling.
brvheart
This item takes the form of a half-dozen brown beans, usually contained in a simple burlap sack. Ten minutes after the beans are planted in the ground, they sprout into a 350-foot-tall beanstalk as if created by the beanstalk spell (see page 70). The magic beans are consumed in the process. The beanstalk lasts for 24 hours before collapsing into a pile of rotten plant matter. cost 700GP
full plate
that is fine on the pendants
Hagrym
jeweled tiara 350 gp, 1/2 is 175 gold.
Silver pendants 15 gp, 1/2 is 7 gold and five silver.
pouch of magic aura beans, 700 gold, 1/2 is 350 gold.
heavy steel shield (20 gp), 1/2 is 10 gold.
golden plate mail (x3) 4500 gold, half is 2250 gold.
long swords (x3) 45 gp half is 22 gold, five silver.
Total is 2815 gold. Divided by six, that totals 469 gold, 1 silver, and six copper per person, if we sell the beans.
Hagrym
Screw it, let's sell them then. If we need to buy them back in he future, we know where to get them. Everyone write down your gold and do what shopping needs done, so we can start up again.
Hagrym
Nope. The shares given above do not have anything subtracted as I didn't recall exactly what we paid earlier. If you want to bang out the math and tell us our take home, that'd kick butt.
Naomi Chadwick
if we gave the priestess 600 gp for the information and a map then the total would be 2215 gp. assuming we didn't give Uthala a cut that would be a six way split so we would all get 100 gp less. So 369 gold, 1 silver, and six copper per person.
Shall we finish our shopping and get back on the road, like I pointed out earlier, Naomi has a mule. Naomi will buy a wagon so the mule can pull it. What other gear do we need?
"Poor" Cyric
I think the beanstalk might be useful. We should wait to sell until closer to our target.
400 miles means a very good chance we run into cliffs or other obstacles, never know. Maybe we need to sneak into a walled city or fall in a 300ft hole lol
Turvijagal
Okay, I did some shopping with my pay packet:
10 (more) sling bullets: 1 sp
10 (more) crossbow bolts: 1 gp
1 waterproof bag: 5 sp
1 deluxe dungeoneering kit: 130 gp
• candles (x2)
• chalk
• dindertwigs (x3)
• everburning torch
• fishooks (x2)
• flint and steel
• hammer
• pitons (x4)
• sacks (x2)
• signal whistle
• silk rope (50 ft)
• string (50 ft)
• sunrods (x4)
I was also thinking about some of the useful gear.
Since we will be roughing it for a while.
Over and beyond obvious stuff like extra food.
• caltrops, 1 gp per 2 lb bag (covers 5 ft square area)
• canvas, 1 gp each (10 ft square; good for lean-to)
• crowbars, 2 gp each
• feed, 5 cp per day (a little extra for the mule, as needed)
• folding shovels, 12 gp each (portable!)
• grappling hooks, 1 gp each
• medium tent, 15 gp (more than adequate for our party, I should think)
• miner's picks, 3 gp each
• saws, 4 cp each
• sledge hammers, 1 gp each (good for tent pegs)
• wire saws, 30 gp each (good for some small jobs)

No Ulfgard befriended a fox in the first 50 posts. As fox is the same family as wolf, just smaller, and this is a fantasy world, a fox of extreme size is not impossible. Just needs an ok from the gm. Same stats as wolf just red and fluffy.

wasn't it the fox who told us who was stealing the chickens?

So far Naomi has purchased: (she already had a mule, which is a large animal, right brv?)
Heavy Wagon 100 gp
Animal feed (per day@30) 1.5 gp 300 lbs.
Trail rations (per day@30) 15 gp. 30 lbs.
Silversheen 250 gp.
It's a 25 day trip so I recommend everyone by trail rations, Naomi has around 200 gp left, can anyone think of something she would need?
Turvijagal
Does anyone think we should invest in any of that extra gear from my last message?
• air bladders, 1 sp each (good for air for long dives, or as a make-shift life-jacket)
• caltrops, 1 gp per 2 lb bag (covers 5 ft square area)
• canvas, 1 gp each (10 ft square; good for lean-to)
• crowbars, 2 gp each
• folding shovels, 12 gp each (portable!)
• grappling hooks, 1 gp each
• medium tent, 15 gp (more than adequate for our party, I should think)
• miner's picks, 3 gp each
• saws, 4 cp each
• sledge hammers, 1 gp each (good for tent pegs)
• wire saws, 30 gp each (good for some small jobs)
Clarification:
I did not actually buy any of this gear.
This was just a list of useful gear I thought could use for the long trip ahead.
Hagrym
Hagrym will buy extra animal food for the mule and his own rations, hoping Naomi will let him store both on the wagon.
Animal feed (per day@30) 1.5 gp 300 lbs.
Trail rations (per day@30) 15 gp. 30 lbs.
Hagrym has a good chunk of gold left. If we decide some of the mundane supplies are needed, he can certainly kick in a hundred gold or two for them, for the party usage.
I'm fine with any of those purchases, Turv. Hagrym will kick in his share and Naomi's share, since she was nice enough to buy the mule and wagon.
Naomi Chadwick
I like Turvs idea enough that Naomi will purchase the list for her and Uthala to share, so if you boys want your own tent you will need to purchase it ;) the total cost is 65.14 I will add a second air bladder for Uthala (I hope she still has the ranger's pack that we found) so the total is 66.24.
Hagrym, Thanks for the food for the mule, that will give us 60 days of food for him. If we want a duplication of the list so we have more of one item that's fine, or just part of it either way I'm easy, I am, not Naomi, don't get the wrong Idea, Turv!
@brvheart, just to clarify, the mule is a large animal, similar in size to a light horse, which is listed as a large animal, correct?
Turvijagal
@ Naomi: Wrong idea? MOI?
Right! I went ahead and bought some extra gear/stuff/kit.
Most of it is practical for us all, and some of it is for myself:
• 1 scimitar (a spare for myself)
• 28 trail rations (mine!)
• 20 wandermeal packs (emergency rations for us all)
• 2 folding shovels
• 5 bags of caltrops (for getaways, as needed)
• 5 air bladders (enough for a makeshift raft)
• 2 wire saws
• 2 large tents (each seeps 4)
• 4 sledge hammers (mostly for tent pegs)
@ brvheart:
When you get a moment, could you check the cash I should have?
I have 462 gp 1 sp 1 cp after all my shopping.
I just want to make sure I didn't accidentally pay myself twice somewhere along the line.
Thanks.

Give everyone an extra 500 GP reward by the church for completion of this part of the staff.

You do mean flint and steel, torches and oil, right? I have no matches and flashlights (tinder twigs and sunrods) in my campaign. The everburning torch is ok though.
