I wouldn't mind the story part with Flynt and the circus, explaining why he feels he has to go, ect. Her brother is born 4 years later? Isn't that about the same time that Terra's father shows back up? That would be an interesting thing to go over as well. Just a few things that help tie everything together. Not to mention our night out in Freeport. Hehehe

Lo'Laan Jin |

Faluun seems like my first choice.
---
What Jin does:
Not long after the events at the pipers lair Jin's mother leaves the village in search of answers. When a year passes without her return Jin too leaves the village for Freeport hoping to become an apprentice. It takes some time but the young boy shows enough potential to spark interest in. He uses any means available to him, including theft and espionage, to research the piper it's strange markings.

Okay....I will have to take a look at all of those. I never even thought about if her parents even believe in a God or Goddess, and if they do who that deity would be. I've got Xena on netflix, so I've watched the whole series about 2 or 3 times all the way through. I really didn't care for how it ended though. It just seemed sorta cheesy.

Gashka |

I really really really wanted to see Maleficent, but we never seem to have the time to go to the movies, and I hate people and noise while I'm trying to watch something, so I'll probably wait until we can get it on our dvd cue.

a little bit of lore GM that I have come up with for the deeps...
The Maw perhaps the most legendarily brutal location in the lands of the Drow... The Maw while formally regarded by all as a city state is in fact nothing more then a large fortress of rotating Drow soldiers, although some (mostly criminals) are here forevermore. The Maw is a fortress that protects the middle and upper bands of the Deeps from aberrations, the maw itself is a massive cave entrance that one could move a thousand men abreast through. It is from here that the slathering hordes of the abominations come forth to attempt to breach the fortress and destroy all of Drow civilization...
Standing against this oncoming horde stands a legion of several thousand Drow armed with the most brutal and advanced weapons of the Drow... Here firearms that even some Drow would have a hard time conceiving of are employed, massive six barreled cylinders (gatling guns) that fire 500 bullets per minute without end. Massive cannons cable of firing rounds that explode in great bursts of lightning and of course the legendary Sunderer, a gigantic bombard (think the massive cannon used to blast apart the walls of Constantinople) capable of unleashing such destruction as to kill entire armies of aberrations...
Besides just the fortification itself of the Great Fortress lurks line after line of trenches manned by Drow armed with pepperbox rifles to beat back the oncoming horde. It is a war without end that the Drow have been waging for millennia upon millenia, the technology may have changed and the ways of war may have shifted but still the eternal enemy of the Drow shows no weariness nor mercy.
Yet the Drow are just as relentless as their enemy, every city state knows the price of failure... The Maw itself is the only major, straightforward route into the lowest band of the Deeps known. It is not the only one however these "breaches" are simply to small for the greatest of aberrations to get through and are generally left unguarded or only monitored by scouts.
Some brave souls have gone into the lowest band, those few who returned reported aberrations everywhere...except for around strange ruins which are definitely of precursor make. These ruins are guarded by strange automatons and golems that seem largely immune to the abilities of the aberrations and seem to neither age nor corrode. There is no sign of any of the precursors, however one scout managed to infiltrate one of the more "lightly" guarded ruins and steal fantastic weapons and technology.
One of these weapons was rather like a pistol, except it was made of pure mithral that was alchemically augmented beyond the wildest dreams of most Drow alchemists and smiths. In place of a gunpowder chamber it possessed a strange "lens" that of green hew and seemingly unbreakable. When the scout fired the "pistol" to combat an aberration it fired a green lance of energy that tore through the creature's thick hide with ease. The scout finished it off with three pulls of the trigger.
While some technological insights were gleaned from these weapons and gadgets the scout brought no Drow was able to replicate the weapons or gadgets themselves... Suffice it to say if one could successfully raid one of larger ruins of the Precursors one might find technological riches beyond imagining. The greatest treasure of all however would be some form of cipher which might help the Drow decode the mysterious lauguage of the Precursors and in doing so allow them to completely replicate the secrets of this ancient and (presumably) extinct race...

Gashka |

Yeah....I must of liked it cause I've watched it a few times. LOL Not Hercules so much, he's okay. But when a chick has that kind of power and fight off so many different things, and kick that much ass....it's just nice to know that their are shows where the women aren't all weak and kittenish.

Gashka |

@GM Okay, yeah that makes sense. Since Aruuc is who he believes in than it would be safe to assume that he would teach his children about him as well. Especially if he starts taking Gashka hunting with him as she gets a little older.

Gashka |

Okay...um...apparently I can't leave my phone turned off. That nothing that mom supposidly had when she fell the other day turned into a broken piece of bone being loged in her spine. She was taken by ambulance earlier today to UAMS for additional testing and is in the Emergency Department right now. I have to go down there to be with her, so I may not be available for a while. I have no idea what's going to happen yet...the neruo docs are looking over CT scan now.
I will let eveyone know whats going on as soon as I know myself.

Lo'Laan Jin |

I don't think I can top surviving a Kraken attack. So urban espionage is the best I'm gonna get.
Just need to pick spells and decide if I want toughness or trapfinding.

Gashka |

So, they took her for an MRI this morning...but it'll be a while before we get the results. She hates the C collar, but they don't want to take it off until they rule out any further injury to her neck/spinal column. The neurosurgery docs came around this morning and said due to her age they really don't want to go in surgically, if they can help it. So, first they are gonna try putting her in an upper body brace and start physical therapy. Since she's 80 years old, a surgery could end up doing more harm than good and there's a whole lot of scary complications that could come up, so that's a last resort.
However, this is gonna mean her staying in the hospital for a few days and being immobile....which isn't going to sit well with her either. I'm gonna get some rest today because I have a feeling I'm gonna be staying up there with her again tonight so that my dad can come back to the apartment to get some sleep. Well....I'm gonna try to sleep at some point I should say.

Tikkle |

It's been a helluva weekend, I'll be on after a shower and a nap ;)

Gashka |

Yeah...so the sleep thing. Pretty much not happening...my body is ready to shut down, but my mind won't shut the hell up! LOL Well...that and funny thing....when you tell people that you'll leave your phone on so they can reach you....people end up reaching you. OH well...such is life.

Vallterra |

does nox still have an attitude problem? is a better question.
this is my personal observation...
Nox came to the surface to live (well his clan/family/tribe/or whatever) after arriving he seems to want the rest of our world to change to adapt to him.
he hates common, but it is our language (does he ridicule or put down those that do not speak elf? even considering them inferior?)
Terra really hated everything about nox after leaving the piper place. unless He does something to improve that situation Terra will NOT change her mind.
sorry if I sound rude but if we are to work together, Nox really had better prove he is not an arrogant and demanding jerk.

Pharnox |

It depends, Nox isn't the type to ahem "declare himself" in front of an enemy like a paladin. Nox is more a "stealth" character, Nox doesn't want to charge right on in like an idiot into a fight. He would want to 1 sneak up on the enemy, 2 throw a tanglefoot bomb and 3 unleash the devastating power of a blunderbuss while the enemy is entangled and suffering the resulting penalty to touch ac...
Nox dislikes common because he finds it imprecise language, unsuitable for Drow alchemy and science. As such when using highly technical words he may simply slip back into Elven reflexively. He probably won't chew you out unless you do something worthy of a Darwin Award (like charge right into the dragon's lair) although for lesser acts of "stupidity' he may curse you under his breath.
Nox also is willing to consider if the threat is great enough "extreme" solutions. This is a character who would have saluted the Russians for their tactic of "scorched earth' against Napoleon, to ensure that Napoleon couldn't resupply in Russia the Russians simply burned everything in the path of Napoleon. No food, no shelter, not even Moscow (the Russian army set it ablaze) just ashes.
Pharnox won't shy away from extreme solutions, poison, biological warfare, chemical warfare and so forth but he won't do anything "wasteful" knowingly. This is the guy who would have shot up a considerable amount of the WW2 High German Command for incompetence, the industrialization of human slaughter that Nazi Germany practiced costed RESOURCES.
The concentration camps not only had to be built they mad to be supplied as well, food for the guards and inmates (that were being worked to death rather then sent to the gas chambers immediately), machine guns and ammunition to keep the prisoners in line and even then that didn't always work to keep the prisoners inline... Desperation and hate can lend strength beyond reckoning.
Do you begin to get the picture of Pharnox?

Lo'Laan Jin |

The Nazi's stole everything they could get their hands on from the people they captured and killed. Placed their prisoners into labor camps so they were forced to work until they dropped.
It did cost resources but they more then made up for it with unpaid labor and the seizing of assets. Art, Jewelry bank accounts etc.
---
If Nox maintains his previous inclinations, such as wanting to leave the injured to die and his no mercy killing sprees, then Jin too will probably keep his distance from the Drow.

Pharnox |

Pharnox isn't a sociopath, he is practical. Pharnox wouldn't just poison a river to kill a small group of bandits and thus endanger the local village. He would only employ such a tactic in extreme circumstances, as in either way the village can't be saved (either the enemy army destroys it or the poison renders it temporarily uninhabitable). By the same token Pharnox really doesn't mind if a peaceful solution to a problem is found, however if no such option exists or has been incinerated by circumstances Pharnox is fully prepared to take the "extreme" option. He doesn't beat around the bush of morality, Pharnox knows instinctively that in combat it is either him or you.
Pharnox also doesn't show mercy in combat, they made the choice to attack him. They made the choice to die, although Pharnox could potentially spare someone who had been "compelled" (e.g dominate person) to attack him in exchange for information concerning who sent the "attacker". He would then probably tell said being to get the hell out of dodge and make to the nearest "safe zone" (somewhere where said being wouldn't be enchanted) both to ensure that Pharnox wouldn't again be targeted and so that Pharnox could go and grill the man for information if need be.
In the early years of Nazi oppression, yes the camps did pay off... Then the war reversed and the Russians said "gee whiz, if the Germans can build a tank army we will build a better tank army!" Then the Germans attempted to cover up their crimes, something which was madness. You can't really "hide" the slaughter of millions upon millions, you can obscure it a bit but in the end it didn't save any of the high ranking Nazis from the noose at Nuremberg excepting for Hitler's personal architect. How they thought wasting resources to "hide" their crimes is beyond me, Nuremberg was a forgone conclusion no matter how well they hid their crimes the Allies would have nonetheless pulled the trapdoor out from under them... The masses back home wanted blood and they got it.

Flynt |

Yea Flynt didn't forget that either. Not that Nox treated anyone else much better. Being the token evil teammate is one thing, but your methods have to be tolerable even if distasteful. And they are not.

Pharnox |

Note though that Pharnox really doesn't perform "evil" actions for the sake of evil, Pharnox views warfare the way the the US military views it now days: Fighting "fair' is for idiots. Pharnox would never ally with a knight voluntarily, he would never abstain from "dishonorable" methods such as poison, biological warfare and the like. After all combat is combat, shedding blood is shedding blood no matter which way you go about it. Why should Pharnox endanger himself or his allies when a far more practical option exists that society calls "dishonorable"?
Note that Pharnox probably wouldn't do something like hold your kid hostage (unless this concerns Tehanna in which case the ruthless protector instinct kicks in even more fiercely) and threaten to kill him but he wouldn't hesitate to do it to your wife or husband (Pharnox dislikes harming children when at all possible, even Drow has some basic "moral" standards) however he would be perfectly willing to threaten an illusion or simulacrum of your child and so forth. After all no one (except the idiot who angered Pharnox) is being hurt.
If you want to look at a solution which Pharnox would view as extremely practical look as the Genophage from Mass Effect. On one hand it eliminates the Krogan as a (galactic) problem, on the other hand it truly isn't genocide in the conventional sense. If the Krogan want to rebuild themselves and not slide into complete decline and eventual disappearance they have the power to do so. It also has another immanently practical side effect, as the Genophage isn't a nuke it won't destroy any planets the Krogan are on and have captured. You should be able to completely reclaim these rare, vital garden world planets for yourself.
The final effect of the Genophage is that it also makes the Krogan an emergency resource, just offer them the cure to the Genophage and they will do anything for you no matter how much they hate your guts. They are that "desperate" despite the irony that if they united they could survive and prosper even with the Genophage.
And Nox does kind of "passively" mend the relationship between himself and Terra, if he wasn't trying to make amends why would Pharnox offer potions at the base price to Terra rather then charge the full or even an inflated price since she hates his guts so much?
