Good luck to all the submissions!

Lots of work ahead of you, running 2 tables of 6 players.

Good luck!

Especially with kingdom-building! Good luck! :D

Good luck deciding. And I should probably get started on making sure Xan's stats and gear check out.

I hope everyone selected (and the GM) manages to have fun.

That's why we do this, isn't it?

Huh, was less to do with her than I thought. Even gave me a chance to give her a little memento from her trip across Numeria - Cyberart (it's on the SRD, under Cybertech). Haven't added it to her backstory yet, but she just got it done over the tattoos on her body so they can flare white when she wants them to.

Or at least done over some of her tattoos, the item's description doesn't really say how far you can make one use of it go.

I'm going to squeeze Zane Levallis in before the deadline, if I may. Definitely part of the Stalwart group!

Good luck to everyone and I hope whoever is picked have a blast.

One question for those who have the knowledge. Is it possible to have two campaigns come off the same recruitment thread? Or do I need to start another, making it a private recruitment for just the people I select?

You don't even need a recruitment thread for the second table. Just make a new campaign in the Gameplay subforum and link the Table Two players to it here.

Zartana's background. Stolen a few things from Xantria, in case we both are chosen, will make things easier to link up

Background:

Born in Mendev's capital city of Nerosyan, Zartana’s daemonic heritage instantly made people believe she turn out to be some sort of miscreant, trouble maker, or worse yet, twisted but true version of the blood that flowed through her. She was tormented in school, by far of relatives, even the people in town gave her mocking stares or whispered behind her back. No, outside was a bit better than in. So she spent most of her days on her own, trying to drown out the noise of those around her. Bow and arrows, nature. Silence. Books. Those were her refuge. She received some sword-training from her father - one of the conventional soldiers who fought in the crusades but was discharged for injury. Hard to fight as effectively with only one arm. Zartana went with it, though more for the simple practicality of it and to stay in shape than from any desire to join the crusades or any of the directions people thought she would turn out as. She was branded a rebel, which in turn fuelled the fire of her heritage even more.
Through her studies, her father’s training and her desire to show them she was her own person and not that which they believed her to be, she grew to fancy the training that Swordlords gained, not in depth like some people she knew, but it did help her master her feeling of resentment and anger. Calm and flowing movements helped her calm and focus her mind. So many stories and studies were out there, she would try to learn from the best.
So here she is, on her way to the so called Stolen Lands. Despite her parent’s desire for her to stay. No doubt to keep an eye on her. No, this was her chance to carve out her own future, one where she will be seen for who she is, not for what flows through her veins

Thank you for inclusion for consideration. I shall endeavor to make him per your specs today.

Ok. I believe that he is ready. I am still mulling over the campaign trait...

I am thinking that he has been sent by the Church to begin reclaiming the lost Elven lands...

Hi GM_DBH,

Thanks for catching that. It is meant to be Mim Oakenlegs. I have made that correction on the character sheet. Also added some gear and I believe he is now ready for review.

Sovereign Court

Thanks a lot for the chance to ride again.
Good Luck to all!

Just so it's easier to find me if I am chosen for either table, my user name is Xynen (it's listed as Xyen in the character list).

Wow, that's a lot of submissions. Good luck picking, seriously!

One more under the wire! I am glad I looked at this last night and found out the deadline was moved up.

Anyway here is my Submission: Mykhael Medvyed Spirit Guide Oracle. He has the charisma to be King but I can see him filling several of the kingdom roles.

The below information is also in his alias.

Apperance:

Height: 6’ 4”
Weight: 220 lbs
Eyes: Gray
Hair: light brown
Age: 17

Mykhael stands a well over six feet tall with a thick and well-muscled build. He is broad shouldered and deep of chest, with a thick corded neck and heavily muscled limbs. His skin is bronzed from constant exposure to the elements which accentuates the hard, dangerous lines of his body. The big man is long limbed and walks with a noticeable limp.

Mykhael has dark gray eyes, the same color of the sky right before a storm, and his gaze appears knowing and penetrating. His eyes are set in a well-proportioned and handsome face which is framed by light brown flowing hair, the color of a wheat, with a luxurious well-groomed mustache, a small goatee, and long sideburns that extend below his ears.

Mykhael favors clothing in woodland colors and is usually clad in a chain shirt and armored kilt. He is never far from his spear which he uses as a walking stick.

Personality:

Mykhael is stoic, but stern, and fiercely determined. Although those who are close to him come to appreciate his wry sense of humor. His recent injury has helped to shape his determined disposition.

He is a lover of geography, the outdoors, and stout ale, as well as smoking his pipe. He can be meticulous, especially when it comes to the care of horses and his gear, but he is also thoughtful and imaginative, willing to experiment. Mykhael is stubborn, courageous, and dedicated to seeing tasks through to completion. However, he is not fool hardy. Rather he is practical knowing it’s better to live, and fight another day, than to die in a hopeless cause.

He embodies the Medvyed family motto: "Endurance Overcomes All.

Backgorund:

BACKGROUND

Mykhael was like many of the third or fourth sons of the great houses of Brevory, a wastrel. He spent his time enjoying his daily debauchery of drinking, gambling, and womanizing. All of that changed with a horse race, a mistimed jump, and a horrible fall. There was no fanfare or posturing nobles as Mykhael lay on his back, in an isolated grove of trees, writhing in pain from his crushed and twisted leg. Rather, he was alone, lost in his pain. Laying there he took solace in the melodious chirping of birds, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves, and the warm sunlight peeking through the branches overhead. This scene warmed his hart and he had hope that Erastil would watch over him right before he passed out.

He awoke three days later and the dreams stated soon after. Mykhael’s dreams were always similar; where he saw a rich verdant untamed land and in the distance a majestic elk was running through the forest towards him. Then the elk was close by, beckoning Mykhael to follow him. The elk led him to an open meadow bathed in starlight and surrounding the meadow were all manner of woodland creatures. At first the creatures were loud and aggressive then of their own accord they bowed to Mykhael as he was crowned with a wreath of flowers.

When Mykhael heard of the Expedition into the Stolen Lands he knew his dreams were pulling him in that direction.

CLASS ABILITIES

Starting Wealth: 3d6 x 10 gp (average 105 gp).
Class Skills

The Oracle's class skills are Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (history) (Int), Knowledge (planes) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int). In addition, oracles receive additional class skills depending upon their oracle mystery.

Skill Points at each Level: 4 + Int modifier.

nlike other divine spellcasters, an oracle’s selection of spells is extremely limited. An oracle begins play knowing four 0-level spells and two 1st-level spells of her choice. At each new oracle level, she gains one or more new spells, as indicated on Table 2–6. Unlike spells per day, the number of spells an oracle knows is not affected by her Charisma score; the numbers on Table 2–6 are fixed.

In addition to the spells gained by oracles as they gain levels, each oracle also adds all of either the cure spells or the inflict spells to her list of spells known (cure spells include all spells with “cure” in the name, inflict spells include all spells with “inflict” in the name). These spells are added as soon as the oracle is capable of casting them. This choice is made when the oracle gains her first level and cannot be changed.

Upon reaching 4th level, and at every even-numbered oracle level after that (6th, 8th, and so on), an oracle can choose to learn a new spell in place of one she already knows. In effect, the oracle loses the old spell in exchange for the new one. The new spell’s level must be the same as that of the spell being exchanged. An oracle may swap only a single spell at any given level, and must choose whether or not to swap the spell at the same time that she gains new spells known for the level. She cannot swap any cure or inflict spells, nor can she swap any spells gained from her mystery.

Unlike a cleric, an oracle need not prepare her spells in advance. She can cast any spell she knows at any time, assuming she has not yet used up her spells per day for that spell level. Oracles do not need to provide a divine focus to cast spells that list divine focus (DF) as part of the components.

Mystery: Each oracle draws upon a divine mystery to grant her spells and powers. This mystery also grants additional class skills and other special abilities. This mystery can represent a devotion to one ideal, prayers to deities that support the concept, or a natural calling to champion a cause. For example, an oracle with the waves mystery might have been born at sea and found a natural calling to worship the gods of the oceans, rivers, and lakes, be they benign or malevolent. Regardless of its source, the mystery manifests in a number of ways as the oracle gains levels. An oracle must pick one mystery upon taking her first level of oracle. Once made, this choice cannot be changed.

At 2nd level, and every two levels thereafter, an oracle learns an additional spell derived from her mystery. These spells are in addition to the number of spells given on Table 2–6. They cannot be exchanged for different spells at higher levels.

Oracle’s Curse (Ex): Each oracle is cursed, but this curse comes with a benefit as well as a hindrance. This choice is made at 1st level, and once made, it cannot be changed. The oracle’s curse cannot be removed or dispelled without the aid of a deity. An oracle’s curse is based on her oracle level plus one for every two levels or Hit Dice other than oracle. Each oracle must a single curse. All curses can be found here.

Orisons: Oracles learn a number of orisons, or 0-level spells, as noted on Table 2–6 under “Spells Known.” These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.

Revelation: At 1st level, 3rd level, and every four levels thereafter (7th, 11th, and so on), an oracle uncovers a new secret about her mystery that grants her powers and abilities. The oracle must select a revelation from the list of revelations available to her mystery. If a revelation is chosen at a later level, the oracle gains all of the abilities and bonuses granted by that revelation based on her current level. Unless otherwise noted, activating the power of a revelation is a standard action.

Final Revelation: At 20th level, an oracle learns the final revelation about her mystery, granting her amazing powers and abilities. The nature of these bonuses depends upon the oracle’s mystery.

REVELATIONS
Nature’s Whispers (Ex): You have become so attuned to the whispers of the natural world, from the croaking of frogs to the groaning of great boulders, that your surroundings constantly keep you preternaturally aware of danger. You may add your Charisma modifier, instead of your Dexterity modifier, to your Armor Class and CMD. Any condition that would cause you to lose your Dexterity modifier to your Armor Class instead causes you to lose your Charisma modifier to your Armor Class.

CURSE Lame (Advanced Player's Guide pg. 44 (Amazon)): One of your legs is permanently wounded, reducing your base land speed by 10 feet if your base speed is 30 feet or more. If your base speed is less than 30 feet, your speed is reduced by 5 feet. Your speed is never reduced due to encumbrance. At 5th level, you are immune to the fatigued condition (but not exhaustion). At 10th level, your speed is never reduced by armor. At 15th level, you are immune to the exhausted condition.

GOOD LUCK!

Indeed!

And may the best Female Changeling Cleric of Erastil win!

:)

So; only just realised that the image reference link I had in Xan's profile didn't work anymore - turns out photobucket now has some limitation on third party sharing, no idea when they put that in but I've shifted the image over to pinterest and fixed the link in the profile.

Don't worry; link points directly to the image itself, not a pinterest page hosting the image - I know some mobile devices don't always agree with that site.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Depending on how the GM builds the parties, I think the people with the best odds are the divine casters, and their odds could be as low as 50/50.

I think the only person on the good side of the odds is the GM. The odds are good he's going to pick groups that will help keep him entertained.

I hope whomever he picks manage to have fun while they do so. That's the point of this little hobby, isn't it? Having fun, I mean.

Really? You couldn't wait for somebody to post "Say it! Say it!"?

I guess that shows my age, though.

I was hoping, but...

Random fact: I met my wife (of 33 years so far) standing in line to buy tickets for a midnight showing of RHPS..

I waited in my mind, really... I had Sarandon and Bostwick in my mind, waiting, and the super kickass Tim Curry which torn my life apart when I first saw it.

Then I had to post.

And yes, the film was my first contact with this and it was jaw-dropping for good.

I've seen RHPS too many times to count.
Though in my defense, I was running the projectors at the movie theater.
:)

Sovereign Court

RHPS is still running every friday at a cinema in our city. I took a friend there once, but not yet my wive!

Don't squeeze the Sharman!

I've seen RHPS about 15 times, roughly. I have friends who have seen it much more often.

If you are in Toronto the Bloor Cinema still shows it occasionally, every 2 weeks I think.

Ok, while I wait for a few more things before settling Team two.

Roksana 'Rok' Jedynak.
Jory Haltine.
Darian Aulamaxa.
Lisl Morozov.
Freya Velson.
Isabel Rhelian.

Please check into the Gameplay and discussion thread thank you.

Still six to come so no tears yet please.

Grats!

Fingers crossed

Thank you GM DBH, and good luck to the rest!

"Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future." - Robert H. Schuller

Good luck to those selected. (fingers crossed too)

Fingers crossed, three.
And grats to those chosen.

Thank you very much for the selection, GM_DBH. Best of luck to those who remain.

Congrats to those who were chosen. Good gaming.

Try to have fun!

That line up of folks looks to be the makings of a fine game. Good gaming to that group and looking forward to seeing who makes it into the next one.

A lot of very good submissions, and picking two teams wasn't easy. To those who didn't make I'm sorry, but don't loose your characters. Time and real life has a way of creating openings in campaigns, and I hope you are all available for backup.

In the end I had to look at how the characters would fit together, and what stories they added to the game to help me pick a team.

That said, my second selection to report to Shadows behind the throne.

Xantria Aldori.
Serafina 'Switch' Koenig.
Colwin the Toad.
Elena Voritzova.
Richard Harmon.
Niadroub Kliip.

Thank you to all who applied. This has been one of the most impressive recruitment thread for great character I've seen in a long time.

Enjoy the game "sis"

Enjoy the games folks!

Enjoy!

I'll def be available as backup if needed. Enjoy!

Thank you for consideration. Happy kingdom building!

Have fun, you crazy kids. :)
