The party enters through the dark archway and approaches the massive spider form.

As they move forward the path fills with a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands. DC 20 REF save to avoid being caught in a web effect.

The enormous spider appears to be a hand-carved stone statue with 8 glittering gems for eyes. Below it lies what appears to be an altar, clearly coated in decades of spilled blood.

I can carry 2 more people and I can cast it one more time for the return trip, but give the flaming sword a try.


Eng touches his flaming blade to the webs and they quickly burn away, as easily as a hand brushing away cobwebs. He is quickly able to create a path forward after a few passes with his sword.

A hideous chittering screech of anger is heard as three purple creatures swarm out of the webbing near the altar. They walk upright like a man, but their faces are those of a spider, and their hands are sickle-shaped claws.

Ghun connects for a second time, cracks appearing on the creature's chitinous shell. Eng struggles with the webs, finally cutting his way out but taking acid: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 (DC 20 FORT for 1/2) while doing so. Daardra heals. Orett teams with Ghun to take down the critter not attacking from the webs.

Ghûn has protective luck hex on him so think spider guy needs to roll attacks twice and take worse result.
