I started typing up a combat introduction, you know with the usual Initiative order list and it started to look like this every time

So, uh, what happens next? Do we get to act as normal if we go before the GM (Gibbering Mouther, not Game Master, although, really, when you think about it, what's the difference?)

Do we make a will save? Is it different if we act before or after the gibberer?

I think the way I understand it, the Mouther’s gibbering affects everyone from the beginning of its turn until the end of its next turn (its round 2 action). Jim, Berenwyr, and Durgen, actually bonk themselves in their round 2 actions, while Ballar attacks Berenwyr on his round 1 action, and Teirist Delays, ‘cause the gate is still down.

The Mouther then will try to climb out of the pit, a Climb check on its Second round action, and I’ll post that shortly. Then Ballar and Teirist are up for round 2, and the rest of you can act normally at the top of round 3.

Been a little overwhelmed with things lately.

Good news! I'm back up and running! Seems they accidentally unhooked us while hooking up someone else in the neighborhood. For a couple free movies and free cable for a few months, I guess I can forgive them.

Just wanted to note that there are two ways to weaponize oil, as per Equipment (Ultimate or not).

1) Stick a fuse in it, throw it as a splash weapon:
This way takes a full-round action to prepare and has a 50% chance of failure (because it's improvised and the fuse may fail). This is treated as an alchemist's fire (1d6 followed by 1d6).
2) Pour it in a 5ft square:
This way, when ignited, it deals 1d3 damage to each creature in the square for 2 rounds (1d3 followed by 1d3).

I'm not sure which way we're using, but it seems fair to do perhaps 1d6 followed by 1d3. Thoughts?

As I see it, we are throwing the oil into the pit which already has an ignition source (Berenwyr's alchemist fire); there was no need for a fuse. I still used the 50% ignition failure because there is a chance the oil may splash in the wrong direction or the flask may not break sufficiently.

I think round 4 since I didn't have to save round 1 (I went first).

The full-round is for affixing the fuse, and the 50% is for fuse failure. The d6 is for a direct hit and the d3 is for the general area. We shouldn't have to worry about the fuse (and thus, the full-round action or failure chance), but in the name of fairness, giving us a mix of direct and area damage.

Yeah this guy doesn't appear on my list. So I can post on every character besides this, including my "first" alias. My report was on my phone Note 2, but I just checked on my Nexus 10 tablet and same issue, I took a screen shot.

Well I can't even access it on this campaign with that name. It doesn't show up in the list. I can send the screenshot from my tablet showing my list.

Edit: I am no programmer, thinking about becoming one, but I do know lists in places like Excel etc. Could it be, I have too many aliases?

In case anyone is curious, we have the following treasure:

400gp
2 rubies of unknown value
1 iFlail case (100gp value)
a 1,500gp value tea set

My current xp is 5055, with 320xp awarded on July 3rd, 300 on April 28, and 200 on April 25, from the kobolds and their tea set.

We seem pretty good on health thanks to the healing pond and I still have some spells. Shall we press on after the holiday weekend?

Just so everyone is on the same page, Jim, Berenwyr and Teirist are at 5055. Ballar is a few behind that and then Durgen is 400 behind him, right? I know we did this a page ago, but it seems like we all came up with different amounts and when I updated my HL I got the level up warning so I am adjusting.

Yep, I dun goofed. XP on April 28th was 5755 for Jim, Teirist and Berry. +320 is 6075. Sorry for the miscommunication. I'm pretty sure that we are on the medium XP track, and that Durgen was at 4815 prior to the encounter with the Gibbering Mouther. He should now be at 5135 and finally 3rd level. We are all a ways away from 4th level, which requires 9000 xp.

Does that sound right?

going back to this post, and trying to figure things out I discovered that...

There are 17 entries for the words “experience points” in the game thread

and 12 posts in the Discussion Thread

Adding them all together comes to a total of 4905 experience points for the characters who have been in the game the longest (Berenwyr and Teirist)

or slightly more

Jim joined the game at post 693, of the post made after this one he earned 2360 of the 4905.

If Jim started exactly where Teirist and Berenwyr were at experience points he would be the same now, but I think I just started him at second level, with 1300 xp, so he would have 3660 now

Ballar Joined at post 1261

Durgen at post 1290

In the discussion thread at post 910 I said that these two dwarves would start at 2300 xp, and from the game experience points they would have earned 1895, giving them a total of 4195meaning that they would have more experience points than Jim, if Jim started at 1300

On the fast track you reach 3rd level at 3,300 xp

And 4 th level at 6,000

Confusion crept in when references were made to treasure (and the experience points that it gave, when it was already included in an earlier posts experience award)

So, to keep this game as close to balanced as I can (and not jump to far ahead of the IAD Game 2) I would like each character to have exactly
the same experience points

If everyone will agree, I'd like each character to have
5500 experience points, total at this time

you are all third level

we are using the fast track

fourth level hits at 6,000 experience points

Having everyone on the same XP is probably the best for everyone. I tried to put loot posts in the discussion thread with the phrase LOOT POST, which is now going to grab this post..yay.

Anyway.

Back from my trip and ready to go. Driving 150 miles and dong a few odd jobs and then back seems to take more out of me. Probably not sleeping well is the culprit.
