"Senator, my companion speaks truth. You won a great victory last night, but the rest of the galaxy believes you had the rightfully elected government assassinated by terrorists. Enlistment of Imperial military forces will increase as Palpatine continues to paint a picture of you as terrorists. The ships you destroyed will be replaced by the Kuat Drive Yards, by the shipyards at Sluis Van, Fondor, and Bilbringi. You now have two great droid battle ships, but the Empire has a galaxy of resources at their disposal. The Emperor declared an embargo of the system. You will run out of food, out of fuel, and out of tibaana gas, then his forces will sweep you up. Or, you will have to procure those resources from smugglers, and you will eventually run out of credits. A stand here will not bring you victory."
Pausing a moment, he continued, "Your best hope for victory and survival is to splinter. Where you have one large army, you will have several small ones, striking Imperial targets from a hundred places. The Empire will no longer have one target to strike at, but several. It will bleed their resources and focus. As long as you only strike hard, military targets, you will have success and, eventually overthrow this Empire and earn your freedom. Please, at least consider our words."

"If there is a Sith lord among the Emperor's cabinet, then we're going to have very serious things to worry about."
Moroka begins walking to the designated meditation chamber slowly, eyes wandering as she thinks aloud. "It may be the thing that found Gotal, but it could be another one. I seem to recall hearing about a rule of two among the Sith. One would likely remain behind the scenes, letting his subordinate be the public face and his agent. There's a good chance the entity that reached out was the master, meaning the black figure is probably his apprentice."
She then stops, a worrying thought crossing her mind. "What if the emperor IS a Sith lord?"
Gotal of Umbara
Gotal considers Moroka's comment, "It would seem unlikely. Master Yoda and Master Windu were in constant contact with him for years even before the Clone Wars began. I would imagine they would have sensed him were that the case.
Though if that is the case then I would agree that is significant trouble, perhaps overwhelming trouble. I have never even heard stories of Jedi as powerful as Yoda at least not since the early days of the Republic at any rate".

Senator Toora stops as she reaches the door and turns to you both,
"What you say makes sense. The thing is, I don't just have the resources of one world. I have the resources of many. However, I think your idea of a hit and run campaign will stand the best chance of being successful. Thank you."With that she turns to the door and leaves.
The two security men remaining escort you back to the front gate, give you a small box with enough credit chips to cover the promised payment and then they close the gate behind you.
Luckily, the esteemed Corda is sitting on the boot of his speeder.
"Boon dula gooda uleera?"
From the dash, his droid chirps in, "The esteemed Corda is inquiring about your luck."
Renlo Tacksa
"Well, it wasn't the most optimal result, but it certainly could have been a lot worse."
Getting in the speeder, Renlo motioned Jak to keep quiet so as not to reveal anything to the esteemed Corda.
Corven Sworn
"Sith? Are those not like Jedi turned to evil? And the black-clad figure may be one of two?" Corven thinks on it for a moment. "So, either the Emperor is one himself or, more likely," he continues, turning to Gotal for confirmation, "he is either under their control or he himself has them under his."
He sighs then. "None of those three possibilities fill me with hope really..."
Moroka Janis
"Sadly, I don't know much about the Sith, except the fact that they don't like to be well known. I know they stand against the Jedi at every turn, and wield powers from the dark side of the Force; this alone makes them the single biggest danger to the known galaxy, in my estimation."
It also makes us their favorite prey...
Moroka looks up at the ceiling, then around to the ship's walls before turning back. "I think I know what I'd like to do with this ship first. Stealth field generators."
Jak Kato
Jak is mulling over the results of the meeting on the ride back, feeling gloomy. Finally he leans over to Renlo and speaks quietly to him.
"I was thinking we should refuel and get off planet as soon as possible. We can find some neutral port -- get a job there. Staying here just seems like a bad idea."
GM, how much do we owe the Esteemed Corda?
Gotal of Umbara
"Yes Moroka, I vaguely remember there being two though in the distant past they were as numerous as the Jedi Order, great wars were fought between the two, I suppose belief systems. The Jedi it seemed had won until now.
Sith are not quite evil Jedi Corven, their training and philosophy are different. At least I think they are. A Dark Jedi may be selfish but they are not evil the way the Sith have been portrayed to be.
I agree, any possibility you have considered are all bad for the galaxy not just the remaining remnants of the Order.
I have a small errand to run, I shall be back as soon as I can".
Gotal heads out to check on whether his message to the Senator of Alderaan was responded to...

The ride back to the space port is uneventful. The speeder glides to a halt and the esteemed Corda turns and with his elbow on the seat looks at you both.
"Yoola ta balla BREA cuputu" he says with a slight contortion of the mouth that could be a smile... maybe. His small translator droid twists it's optic sensor from one to the other.
"The esteemed Corda says that you are his BEST customers. He offers you a discount. 10 credits each for the ride."
Renlo Tacksa
Paying the esteemed Corda, Renlo exits the speeder, saying, "I concur. We need to get the ship renamed, as well, and broadcasting a non-CIS ID. Else we'll have to deal with Imperial authorities hunting us down."
Boarding the ship, Renlo called out, "We're back. Everyone meet up in the lounge."
Jak Kato
"Be well, Esteemed Corda. We may have additional business later," Jak says as he pays the driver.
Jak whistles loudly with his fingers as he arrives.
"Renlo's right. We have some decisions to make."
Everyone, don't forget that we got paid 1,200 credits for each player. Oh, and, GM, we'll need to know about refueling costs.
Renlo Tacksa
I was going to hand everyone their credits as part of the meeting.
GM Han Shot First
As Jak and Renlo arrive, they just missed Gotal heading out.
I'm making an assumption based on your use of an encrypted message AND your post; which you state your leaving for a bit
Gotal makes his way to a tapcaf a few hundred yards from the spaceport. The tap offers a nonspecific point to access the subspace net without giving specific details about WHO is using the subspace net connection which will fit the bill nicely.
Gotal enters, pays 5 credits for half an hour's access. Checking his surroundings (just in case) he checks for a message.

It's good to hear that your children are ok. It is sad that all the other children did not fair so well. It seems that someone left the door open and a cold wind took their breath away.
Unwanted, unpleasant attention has happened where any stand up and decry the children...tread lightly and remember your inner peace.
I will send an emissary to meet with you on the living planet.

As everyone gathers in the lounge save Gotal, Renlo says, "Well, everyone, we delivered Captain Byrn's message to the Senator. The good news is he was so grateful that instead of 300 credits apiece, we each get 1200 credits apiece." Renlo hands out 1200 credits to each person, keeping Gotal's until he gets back.
Continuing, he says, "The bad news is that the message we were carrying was actually the activation codes for those droid control ships in orbit. That, combined with the victory that was won last night, made convincing the Senator to abandon war impossible."
Looking around, he said, "Since this ship currently says its affiliated with the CIS, we need to change that as quickly as possible. Then, we should find some nice, neutral world to visit, lie low, and maybe find some other job to do that keeps us out of the war. Any thoughts?"
Moroka Janis
Accepting her credit chip, Moroka studies it for a moment, digesting the news. "So, one way or another, war is coming to Sy Myrth..."
Pocketing the credit chip, she furrows her brow in thought. "I don't fancy facing down the Imperial Navy, but neither do I fancy just letting the Emperor have his way. I don't see any good coming of a regime that needed to slaughter Jedi, women and children."
She stands, folding her arms. "I've half a mind to upgrade this ship with a stealth field generator and start using it for more covert operations against the empire. They're vast, but they can't possibly have the entire galaxy under lock and key yet."
Renlo Tacksa
"Stealth field generators the size of a starship are well outside our price range. We'll accomplish far more through a new transponder ID."
Considering Moroka's words, Renlo said, "I don't think kicking the Empire in the teeth is our best course of action. That said, if we take on jobs that allow us to supply those who do oppose the Empire, I wouldn't complain."
Jak Kato
"Plus you didn't see the Senator. I don't know if she realizes the heat she's going to bring down on this planet. It could be very bad."
Moroka Janis
"Don't mistake me; I'm no strategist, but I know that just opening fire would get us killed. I'd much rather undermine them, aggravate them and make their lives difficult. I agree we need a new ship ID, but if we intend to make a profession of poking the Empire in the ribs, we're going to need more than a new name."
Moroka spots Donavaan disembark, but says nothing. That one's got some rough times ahead. Might be wise to work with him soon...
"There're bound to be other systems that oppose the empire; hopefully a few of them have more sense than Senator Toora. Unless anyone has any pressing business, I suggest we get that transponder changed, pack up and leave Sy Myrth before we're blockaded in, or worse."
GM Han Shot First
After spending some time in his room the noble will tell whoever is around that he us going out and will be back.
Takung his hoverboard out he goes to the bar they were at previously and will ask to buy a few bottles of their best stuff.
Donavaan pushes off from the exit ramp and steps onto his new hover board. He enjoys the rush of the air across his skin as he glides through the throngs of people going to and fro.
He glides to a halt just outside of Fett's Folly. It's nearly half-past three in the afternoon. The "Folly" is dead... only a few hard core drunkards linger in the corners.
Donavaan steps up to the bar and orders several bottles of "the bar's finest." The bartender retrieves six bottles of Baundaurian Gault.
"That'll be 600 credits."

"Well, he paid us more than expected," Renlo says, shoving a stack of credits towards Gotal, "but the message we were supposed to deliver turned out to be the activation codes for those Trade Federation battleships up there. The Senator is committed to his war effort. Nothing we can do will change his mind."
Jak Kato
"I can start forging us a new ship ID. Shouldn't take more than a few hours. I won't say no to some help though. If anyone has any business on planet, I'd get to it quick."
What rolls do you require, oh wise and merciful GM?
"We're going to need to name this little cloud jumper, though. Anyone have any ideas?"
Renlo Tacksa
It's more than just forgery. Transponder data is tied to the engines. What we really need is a forged receipt of sale, then we can legally change the ID.
Moroka Janis
Moroka gazes around the ship's walls for a moment, pondering the events that led to her current situation. All the lessons, all the efforts, all the consequences--they all point towards a common purpose. Of course... She smiles to herself.
"If we're to try talking some sense into the galaxy, then I think our ship should reflect that. If we're to bring some wisdom to the leaders of the known universe, then our ship should be the Voice of Reason."
Jak Kato
"Seems a bit on the nose, dontcha think? It sounds like something a Jedi would name their ship -- which if I'm not mistaken is what we're trying to avoid. How about something more symbolic? Like an owl?"
Corven Sworn
"I think I agree with Jak," Corven speaks up with a shrug. "I mean, we do not have to name it Slayer or anything charming like that, but if the name of the game is laying low, we may as well start with what we call our ship."
"If you want to be symbolic about it, how about the Aegis? I believe it is another word for shield. Or the Owl's Gambit?"
Renlo Tacksa
"Owl's Gambit sounds good. Remember, we won't always get the opportunity to speak with the people in charge and try to convince them to stop fighting, so our name should be a subtle reminder. And there's no guarantee they'll listen if we do. Senator Toora certainly didn't."
Gotal of Umbara
"Owl's Gambit is fine too. How much time do you all need to change the transponder? I can seek to ascertain the location of Zonama. Though I think we should head somewhere first then jump there just in case we find ourselves being followed".
