Luca has said often that her character goals will kick in later, and she is passive for now. Kien I imagine will develop some eventually. Thus far, Tyrus is in the driver's seat. :)
Which, quite frankly, is useful for me. I never understood how hard it was to get assertive party members on PBP!

Luca Wistor, the Void Caller |

Yup. When she hits Level 7, she'll be changing *significantly*. That's when she'll really come into her power as a Summoner and start calling up the fun things, as well as becoming more confident in herself. Whiiiiich is why I'm in favor of anything that helps us level faster. XD I've been planning and heading towards this since 2014, and I'm eager to see it come to fruition.

Kienyach |

Kien's goals are largely internal ones. Although it may not have been obvious, Tyrus and Luca wanting to continue working with Kien is already throwing him for a loop.
I expect to be making some significant write-ups during our downtime.

Kienyach |

This is a PSA to all of my active games: I will be unavailable starting this Friday afternoon (the 16th) until next Thursday morning (the 22nd). I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please GMPC me as needed.

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

@Mercy: We decided the mechanical effects are what gets past the various treatments he does himself with, right? I'd like to have him knock up a tonic that leaves him with smaller holes (for now).
Explains why he can't just go to a healer - one of the most brilliant and motivated alchemist-healers known of is by definition doing everything he can to keep it in check, and Neerim's disease is still winning.
I really like it hit home after he pushed himself so hard!

Luca Wistor, the Void Caller |

Out of character, I think bed rest can help ability damage. And honestly, we all probably need it after that hike.
In-character, Luca remembers she has Mensha and really doesn't want to use that kind of stimulant, but is worried she'll need to. XD

Kienyach |

I mean if we're dogs than this is Kien and Luca, except Luca is also terrifying when she manifests her powers.

Kienyach |

To be fair, Kien comes off as a bit of an a#&+!#!. It's not unfair to have strangers treat him poorly.
Of course his intimidate check is less garbage when he needs it to be, but he tries to use that sparingly.

Luca Wistor, the Void Caller |

*Makes some popcorn*
I'll be honest, I hadn't looked at Kienyach's profile, so I was under the impression only Luca could roll that low... that's the way the dice fall, though!

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

Hmmm. My last post was a week ago - is it possible to do a flashback or flashforward or something while Kien negotiates? I realise the healer is unlikely to be able to help in the end.
Happy to have Kien grab Luca and Tyrus and take them to the healer while Dante watches our stuff.

GM Mercy |

Given that we're near to the Holidays, I'm going to put us on soft hiatus until after Christmas. Meaning, I'll try to post, but mostly we'll be doing RP stuff (including finishing up the transaction with the curator who gave you the last mission) and we'll start off on the next big segment of the campaign/story after Christmas.
This means we'll need to decide what it is! I think it's fairly plain that I've assumed you'd pursue a cure for whatever ails Tyrus - and the obvious first step there is to take a journey to the healing college in Laquar, which is a fair ways away. Thus, here are the vague next steps for the group as I understand them:
-Get PAID (go to the curator, settle up the end of the mission however you see fit/are able to do so)
-Find a means of travel away from Keldradt
-Find a means a travel to Kadesh (the land the college is in)
HOWEVER, of course, this is an open campaign and the players are free to choose their actions as they see fit. So let me know what you guys are thinking!

Kienyach |

I'm good with putting the brakes on for the holidays. Generally a good idea in my experience.
Yes Kien will be interested in looking for a cure, but I want to ask OOC: Is this what Tyrus as a player wants? What is your vision for the character, what are you hoping to do with him?

Luca Wistor, the Void Caller |

Thaaaaaaaat is a relevant question. You can rely on Luca to be very easy to convince of almost any travel plans, on account of her not being ready for independence quite yet. XD Still waiting on Level 7 for that bit. (Really, it's hard to overstate what kind of a change that's gonna be for her. o wo Been planning this the whole game. Muwahahahaha.)

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

Thanks Kien :)
I figured the search for a cure was a long term goal - also not thinking this is the end game though.
Original plan, broken into events (without travel), was;
* sell some stuff in Keldradr/get paid
* go back to [name escapes me - previous town] and sell to our contact there who specialises in this stuff. There might also be an encounter with the ex-apprentice we rescued about what we found in the pyramid, given she was in something similar.
* we found a potential treasure, but didn't have time to dig it up, in the area near there. Makes sense to to back with some shovels and try to find out what it is. All we know is that it was making magical herbs grow nearby and it scared Dante's sword.
* Contact the college at Laquar.
I am pretty keen to have Tyrus finish researching his new spell, though.

GM Mercy |

I should really put up a places-and-names info spreadsheet soon. I'll try and get to that during the holidays!
Like many things in this campaign, how long-or-short term a goal the cure is will end up depending on the choices you takes and how single-minded you are in your pursuit of it.
And right - I'll make sure to look back and see what exactly the plan was on finishing up that spell research. Over the holidays is a good time to take care of it, as it might involve/impact very little (researching it, at least - casting it is of course designed to impact them a lot).

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

Thanks.
I think it is a case he just needs to spend the money (which requires him to get paid) and spend (a day?) finalising his research.
Gemny - it was in the notes document.

Kienyach |

I'm not actually sure how Kien would proceed.
Although he hasn't said much about a child tagging along, he wouldn't be comfortable feeling like the only person responsible for Luca. And going out further to get returned to Gemny requires more adventuring, putting her in danger again.

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

one of the reason for Gemny was to get a better price for some of the loot. If Kien wants in on that, then he'll have to tag along ;P
Damaged Tyrus (Tertius) is actually more parental than normal Tyrus.

Kienyach |

If it's just for selling off loot, Kien considers that low-risk enough to not worry about Luca too much yet.
So yes, he will secure passage there, trying to get help from Tyrus and/or the locals if need be.

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

Two parts
1. Selling loot. I know it seems like a lot of work for a few extra gp, but a few extra gp is a LOT of money.
2. Finishing up an adventure.
#2 is, strictly speaking, optional.
@Mercy: I'd really like to have Tyrus do his research before we head off; this spell is burning a hole in my character's mind!

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

@Mercy
1. Is it okay if Tyrus does his (reduced) appraise?
2. How much will the supplies he needs to complete his spell cost here, and how hard are they to find?
3. If Horl DOES give us a good price then we might not go to Gemny, I guess. We are in it for the money.

GM Mercy |

Here is the old bit on what rolls are needed for your spell research. As for for supplies, I'll say that this spell won't need much that's hard to find, but will cost 5d50 + 25 ⇒ (13, 12, 35, 45, 47) + 25 = 177 silver pieces (1 gold = 100 silver) in up-front costs, plus another similar roll when you decide whether or not to finalize the research after each attempt.
Yes, go ahead on appraising.

Tyrus Regulus Veneficius |

Tyrus Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Tyrus Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Tyrus Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Tyrus Know(History): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Tyrus Know(History): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Tyrus Know(History): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27Prices I'll put below represent the extreme high and low for what Tyrus thinks they'd be worth. All are in gold pieces and assuming the items take no more damage than they already have.
Gemstones in the ceiling - 3-8
Bronze doors - 20 - 200
Silver lines in the floor and walls - Unlikely to be retrievably without irreperable damage
The scrollcases - 5-30
The scrolls in the scrollcases - dependant on contents, probably at least 5
Selling copies of the writing (have to be careful about the deal we made with Horl, which promised exclusivity on certain things - see below) - Sum total of writings, 5-10
The gems in the rotted regalia. - (The regalia is most valuable as a whole item, despite its damage) - 5-30
The devil eater's belt and headband (as previously state) - 20-70
the pedestal the blood statues had inside them. 10-50
Shards - 1-5
Bell - 1-10And one thing you left out: the rest of the info - temple layout and description, definite location, info on the orc activity in the area, and description of the traps and defenses encountered, etc - probably another 10-15
In short, you've found a lot of valuable stuff, especially when you count its historical value.
Prying loose gemstones from the temple grounds would probably also count as desecration - though you could possibly keep the gemstones secret and sell them elsewhere, or claim that they were lying loose rather than embedded. Getting the doors down and transporting them is probably not feasible with your current resources - they would weigh near to a thousand pounds each.
I think we have
scrollcases and scrolls are a given. 10-30(+)writings (5-10)
Regalia, belt and headband are in. 25-100
Pedestals and shards should be okay 11-55
Bell is heavy, but movable. 1-5
Bell 1-10 confused by my notes on this
I was relying on the "can make another roll if roll improves" - but I realise the roll may not improve if the availability of resources does not outweigh the loss of intelligence. He's at -2 from the disease, so unless access to a library etc adds at least +2, then no roll. Although... I suppose he could use his school ability to get +2 int for a few rounds, but I am not sure that is enough? Have rolled pure Appraise below, just in case.
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
RE Spells.
I rolled the skills back when we levelled (I believe you said he could do that there, but had to spend the gold to finalise)
