As he does so the old man takes a scared look around and then, startlingly, leaps backward off the platform attempting to turn in mid-air, but instead landing heavily in the shallow water below.

The Stag crumples under the combined weight of the attacks he has suffered, pitching backward over the lip of the platform and into the water below, his blood turning the fetid water red in a growing cloud. As he strikes the water the stone door opposite you slams closed with a heavy crash, cutting off the passageway through which the Strangers disappeared. Now only the old man remains, crouching below in the shallow water.

When the Staglord tumbled back Bein gave a silent curse and grimaced when Xarafine casted herself into water below to face the old man alone...

Dropping his greatsword, he turned and pulled his Longbow from its case and nocked an arrow. He took aim at the old man, ready to fire his arrow if he made motions to cast...

Jack runs up the bridge onto the platform as the stag falls.

He can't help but smile as Xarafine impressively dives off the platform to face the man trying to escape. She had come so far from seeming the meek teacher.

Since Bein had her covered, Jack covered the strangers on the opposite ledge.

He also looked to see if there was a way to bridge the gap between the platform and the ledge where the strangers stood.

The Stranger have left, they shut some huge stone slab behind them or else Bein would be torn between who to cover. Right now its just the old man and I think with both of us, bow drawn and arrows nocked he's toast. :)

The filthy man, however, seems oblivious to the arrow-strike and completes his spell. Immediately he sinks down into the water, grinning as his body seems to meld into the very stone beneath.

Akiros snarls and, like Bein, drops his sword and draws his bow, scanning the surroundings. "He managed this when we got him too. He can't stay in there all that long - maybe half an hour before he has to come out. Keep yer eyes peeled."

Jack: There's no clear way to bridge the gap,.. but it is only 10 ft. - You could try to jump :)

Muttering a curse under her breath as the Old Man vanishes, Xarafine wades over to the Stag's body and pulls it to the shore.

"Thank the Nine that this one did not escape," she says. She kneels and checks for a pulse.

Jack looks around to check how much room he has to move. He backs up into the bridge, then heads into a run to try and leap to the other side, praying this goes better than the last time he tried to do such a thing.

He almost surprises himself as much as anyone else with the grace with which he lands on the other side. He checks the stone door, to see if it can be reopened.

Bein nocks another arrow and stands ready to fire at the slightest provocation. "Akiros, are you implying he is able to move around? Or is he stationery?" The Teacher was his primary concern alongside Finnabar, however Akiros being this close made him wary...

Xerafine stands and moves over to The Stag. Crouching over the figure she finds that his pulse still beats - albeit faintly. Quickly she works to stop the bandit lord's bleeding as Jack elegantly sails across the gap above, landing on the far ledge with the agility of a cat. Searching the door thoroughly, he is unable to find a means of re=opening the door.

Akiros remains with his bow drawn, only turning his attention to Bein's question with a glance. "I don't know." he says "he didn't last time but that doesn't mean he can't.

Once she has the Stag stabilized, Xarafine methodically strips him of all of his gear. She piles his armor, weapons, pouches, jewelry and whatever else she can find to one side.

She then removes the man's shirt and tears it into strips, which she uses to bind his wrists.

"I cannot see a way to open it. Perhaps that one or the old man knows." Jack points to the Stag. Seeing Xarafine tie him up, Jack also tosses her some of his fishing line in case she needs it to supplement her binding. It is thin but strong.

Xarafine catches the ball of fishing line and uses it to bind the Stag more securely, including his ankles.

Assuming she will take 20 on the knot tying, since she is not in danger or distracted.

Once she is certain he isn't going anywhere. She turns her attention to his gear.

She intones in Canari: "Master Pralen, reveal what power lies within."

Casts detect magic on the Stag's possessions.

Taking out a rope and grappling hook from his pack, Finnabar sets it and abseils to join Xarafine.

Then looking at the spot where the old man has disappeared, he casts detect magic to identify the ongoing spell.

Drawing again his axe and shield, Finnabar stands by the spot, ready to act as soon as the old man reappears.

Just as Finnabar begins his descent a figure suddenly emerges without warning from the stone beneath the water. The figure does not appear to be the old man, but is instead that of a wolverine. Bein's arrow flies forward but only skims the animal's fur, Akiros' arrow, however, finds its target, burring itself in the snarling thing just as it growls and seems to condense a swarm of bats around Finnabar. The screeching creatures bite and flap around Fin opening small bleeding wounds on his exposed limbs and face (4 damage and bleed 1/round. Also Fort save (DC 11 or nauseated)) .

Going down the rope, he lands close to the old man.
Reaching again into his link to Belam, a blue light bathes him and his wounds close themselvs, leaving him unmarked.

Double move to go down the rope and move to the wolverine

When he sawthe beast emerge from the water below his first thoughts turned to the protection of his comrades. Without hesitation he stepped off the edge and plunged into the water with a heavy slap as his feet scrambled for what little purchase on the stone beneath the water. With blood stained armor he rose to his full height and stood with his greatsword raised in preparation to strike. His voice carried the confidence of his order and he was fully prepared to face whatever this creature could dish out...

Hopefully I didn't confuse everything, I assumed that Xarafine, (Unconcious) Stag Lord and Finnabar were on one side, Wolverine (Old Man?) in the middle and Bein basically flanking on the other side.

Jack's arrow strikes the Wolverine hard in its side, drawing forth a wretched yelp from the creature just as Finnabar drops down next to it and Bein, seemingly unhindered by his armour, lands in the shallow water.

Xerafine: The Stag's helmet and sword both detect as magical but you don't have time to gauge the strength or type of aura before the Wolverine appears.
