Riese's Altered Form |
Note the low intellect displayed by the creature....Rexes are not very bright and have to rely primarily on instinct and a rare trait amongst it's kind. Binocular vision. See how the eyes can see forward and are not just positioned on the sides of it's head? The field of vision from each eye overlaps the other by about 60 degrees in the middle, allowing the creature to have a remarkable amount of depth perception and visual acuity....*Rambles on about the possibilities of color range in vision and other ocular studies*

"Yeh Yeh, Dat's REEl int'res'tin',..." The elf responds to Riese's ramblings, never taking his eyes off of the gigantic lizard.
He narrows his eyes, and with a sudden blur of motion, leaps forward into the air. With a sudden shimmer he takes the form of a large hawk and climbs upwards. The hawk-druid scrams in a peculiarly rythmic way,... and a small thunderhead begins to form over the large predator's head.
About to start a show here at work. Heathy, I cast Call Lightning using Natural Casting so I can cast in beast form. Can you roll damage for this round for me? Thx! I climbed just high enough to be safe, but stay low enough to attract it's attention.
Altai Iscarni |
Altai finds the scroll he was looking for. After a few magical syllables, the big lizard is suddenly enveloped is sticky webs.
Casting Web. Reflex 17, or the beastie is entangled. Even if it makes the save, it is still slowed down. Of course, it is probably strong enough to tear itself free, but at least the web will keep it off us for a few rounds.
Altai Iscarni |
Beldan; Altai; Gittik; and Stiggy (or, if somebody wants to run him, give Stiggy +1 more to hit since he's 6th level now.....don't know what feat he's taken, and I guess he has a standard +8 or so h.p. for this battle anyway.) Kruely's been gone a while....
I'll run Stig. For this encounter, I'll assume he's got the Weapon Specialisation (dwarven waraxe) feat. He moves up to the front of the party, ready to charge the T-rex next turn (after it gets through the web).
Altai Iscarni |
Aw, what the hell... No guts, no glory!
"Ye et me lambchops! Gimme back me lambchops, or I'll cut 'em out of ye gizzard!" With surprising ferocity, Stig attacks the huge lizard.
Move to N5, then attack. Stig'll need all the AC he can get, so there's no charging. He is using Power Attack, though, as well as using the axe in both hands. Attack roll 14+6(BAB)+4(STR)+1(weapon enchantment)+1(weapon focus)-6(power attack)=AC 20, damage 8+6(STR)+2(wpn spec)+12(PA)=28 points of damage. HIs AC is now 18.

The mighty King of the Cretaceous surges powerfully, legs churning and useless two-fingered arms flailing, and powers out of the web. It moves to PQR 456, and cannot bite this round.
Stiggy and Gittik take their free potshots, and it's round 2..
(I.E. attack at will; Stiggy and Gittik get an aoo as well.)
Elgan Dreadwood |
Elgan Screeches and dives at the massive dinosaur, hoping to distract it from the others, as the small thundercloud spits out another lightning bolt at the dino's head,...
Move action, flying in front of it to keep it's attention, call another lightning bolt.
Save DC 16 (Reflex) for 1/2 dmg

N7 sounds a lot better. Sorry 'bout that.
Stiggy's AoO, including 6-point Power Attack and using the axe in both hands. Attack roll 11+6(BAB)+4(STR)+1(weapon enchantment)+1(weapon focus)-6(power attack)=AC 17, damage 9+6(STR)+2(wpn spec)+12(PA)=29 points of damage.
Stig shifts his position slightly, following the huge prehistoric beast.
5' step to O6. Same attack routine. Attack 1: 12+6(BAB)+4(STR)+1(weapon enchantment)+1(weapon focus)-6(power attack)=AC 18, damage 5+6(STR)+2(wpn spec)+12(PA)=25 points of damage. Attack 2: 15+1(BAB)+4(STR)+1(weapon enchantment)+1(weapon focus)-6(power attack)=AC 16, damage 8+6(STR)+2(wpn spec)+12(PA)=28 points of damage.

Slight mod; Stiggy (prolly) steps to O7, because O6 would involve jumping off of the bridge.
Stiggy wracks the bejeezus out of the thing, tearing loose floodgates of blood and flesh outta it's side. The fire scorches it hard as well, and it looks very very hurt.
Gittik; Beldan; Riese left to attack;
Gittik has an aoo to his credit as well.
Riese's Altered Form |
Imbelia furtion de'flar!!! Extra crispy, anyone? Riese's firebolt- 5d6=21 damage. DC18 reflex for half.
Riese's Altered Form |
The trex cookoff continues, as Riese's fire blasts it's hide; the leather splits and sizzles.
I wish that this was a 'flick.....with a big CG t rex, and some Harry Potter guys and like Schwarzenegger dwarfs/hobbits going at it.
That would be pretty awesome! There is a ton of fire being tossed about here, around 70 damage or so by flame so far. And I still have one fireball, a scorching ray wand and several firebolts left. Toasty!

Stiggy is so cool.

Stig = Schwartzendwarf! Dwarfenegger?

Then, unless Stiggy beats a 34 on an opposed grapple, he is swallowed by the nightmarish dragon......no aoo...
Purely rhetorical d20 roll: 1d20=14
"FaaaaaAaAAAAAAHHHHk... phhhhwwuuupphh"
<Everyone can see something struggling and porcine distending the creatures gullet as it slips down into the belly.>
"GLURP!"

STIGGY:
You're not dead, or even unconscious. It's dark though, and you're feeling very tightly enclosed. It burns, the liquid all over you, Stiggy, and there's huge....rocks(?) grinding against your armor.
You are able to act.
The t rex's throat throbs with the size of Stig's frame as he swallows, chokes a bit like some giant cat hacking up a hairball, then gulps the hapless dwarf into his gullet...
