GM Goblin King |
I'll assume Bucko wanted to get the gnome (a safe assumption). Between Velag and Bayleff and Klepy, the gnome is dead. His dog is blinded. Klepy hid again successfully. Overpowered!
Tark can go next, and we'll call that the surprise round, then I'll roll initiative.

Tark Bashflat |

Tark digs into Fangz, and the two charge for the mage.
"Harrruuuuu!!!"
"Feel the might of the Licktoads of Doom!"
Tark's hatred of mages and humans overwhelms him and he begins to froth from the mouth.
Earthbreaker (rage, power attack, charge): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Fangz bite (charge): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

GM Goblin King |
Mmmmkay. The gnome was dead, so I'll assume Tark went for the woman. He caught her flatfooted, but her armor is just too good, and deflects his mighty swing!
The riding dog turns to defend its fallen master. It's between Velag and the woman and her mount.
Round 1:
Initiative: Velag, Bucko, Fighter-types, Tark, Klepy, Dog, Woman

Klepy |

Klepy will throw two more daggers at the fighter types. The one with the most shinys.
Attack 1:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 For:1d3 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + (8, 3) = 14
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 For:1d3 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + (7, 7) = 16
2 bleed damage for each attack that hits. Klepy again attempts to hide.
Stealth:1d20 - 20 + 22 ⇒ (5) - 20 + 22 = 7 Yay for being broken
Still doesnt make up for sucky dice rolls though. :p

Velag Wordeater |

Velag hops off Bayleff after directing it to eat the stoopid dog, and tries to get at the woman instead.
Ride Check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Bayleff attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 and trip 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Velag approaches the woman to gain flanking from Tark, smiling, "Leg look tasty, what you think Tark?"
Velag's attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 = 21 for 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + (6) + 1 = 10

GM Goblin King |
Putting the wayback machine into gear, Velag's flanking the woman means Tark hit, and so did he. She's dead, unless the fighter types kill one of you first.
What ho, Basil! Those nasty buggers are attacking!
Impossible! Why, the nerve of those scoundrels! Charge!
One misses, but the other hits Tark hard, doing 16 damage.
Klepy missed.
The dog got an AO but missed.
The woman has disappointed me, and will not contribute in a meaningful fashion for some time, I'm afraid. Her frightened mount bolts after she falls off.
Helen! NOOOOOOOO! You bastards!
I'll save you!
Velag, Bucko, Fighter-types, Tark, Klepy, Dog

Tark Bashflat |

Team Tark engages a soldier.
Earthbreaker (rage, power attack): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Fangz bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Critical Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Extra Critical Damage: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 7) + 20 = 35
Total damage, and Tarks very reason for existance: 54
Tark smiles with pleasure as he feels his maul solidly connect with the soldier.
"HAAAARRRRUUUUUU!!!!"

Bucko Rackingclaw |

Bucko having followed behind the others pulls up to a stop about 30 feet away...
He targets the arrogant fighter with his misfortune hex forcing the man to make his will save DC 17 or roll twice and take the worst result!

GM Goblin King |
Bucko having followed behind the others pulls up to a stop about 30 feet away...
He targets the arrogant fighter with his misfortune hex forcing the man to make his will save DC 17 or roll twice and take the worst result!
This will ensure his demise at Tark's hand. I know that breaks your heart.
The other one will go after Velag, but Velag gets to go first.

Klepy |

Klepy will draw both stickys(masterwork daggers) and move to flank the last fighter type fellow.
Attack:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 For:1d3 + 2d8 ⇒ (1) + (2, 6) = 9
Attack 2:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 For:1d3 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + (7, 1) = 11
"STICKY! KLEPY WANT SHINYS!!!"
2 additonal bleed damage each hit :)

Velag Wordeater |

Velag smiles at the fighter and says in common, "Your place be oue bellies!"
He the steps in and attacks with both blades.
Left hand: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 for 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
Right hand: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 for 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7

GM Goblin King |
Velag misses, Klepy hits.
The last fighter-type, still breathing, hits Velag with his lance for 10 damage. He wheels his mount around, getting out of the flank.
The dog attacks Velag, and misses.
Cursed scum! Erastil take you all!
His bravery is touching, and would look cool in a movie. He's got scratches on his face and stuff, but still looks handsome.
VeeeeeeeeeeeeeLAAAAAAAAAAAAG!

Velag Wordeater |

Bayleff would have attacked the dog again last round, so... retroactively:
Bayleff bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He'd do it again this round, too, and from flanking, so...
Bayleff bite: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Velag looks at the fighter and taunts, "Erastil not want me. But me want you. You be tasty!" With that, he flips his judgement with a thought and his image shimmers as he activates a copycat.
He snickers as the image appears, "Mebbe Erastil want that Velag."
He then takes a (5') step to restore the flank.
(The rider can't have gone far or we would have AoOed him into spam)
Swift action: Judgement -> Healing (Fast-Healing:2)
Move action: Copycat
Attack with shortsword: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 2 = 31 {flank} -- possible crit, confirmation roll: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17 for either 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + (2) + 1 = 7 {precise} or (crit) 2d4 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + (6) + 2 = 11

GM Goblin King |
The horses are still alive, are apparently trained war mounts, and wearing nice barding. Prolly worth 1000 or more, all together, not counting whatever's in their packs.
The humans have MW armor and weapons, and the gnome has a lovely ring and a backpack that has way more stuff in it than a pack should carry.
What will you guys do with all the corpses and stuff?

Tark Bashflat |

The horses are the main course!
While the other goblins are probably looking over all the fancy loot, Tark is busy slaughtering and butchering the horses. A great day. A plentiful supply of horse meat! Even enough that he can share with the village.
Amidst the slaughtering, Tark does find time to extract the heads of the patrol. Treating the village to a human head crushing ceremony, while chowing down on horsemeat will surely make him an even more important goblin!

Klepy |

Klepy starts hoping from corpse to corpse hugging each of them. "Woohohoho! Shinys! shinys! So many shinys ehehehehe!" Klepy will attempt to go after any shiny thing he can carry.
Perception to search for easy to carry shinys.1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
He will also take the backpack and all it's contents.

GM Goblin King |
Tark:
While you spend several minutes reveling in your victory, an approaching sound reaches your ears: There are lots of horses coming from the east.

Velag Wordeater |

Velag grabs the whole gnome corpse (including pack and ring) and says, "Get nice shinies, we split later. We go to woods now. Also, we eat gnome for dinner, so can talk to Bayleff and Fangz"

GM Goblin King |
Tark:
The horses will soon be visible. There's not much time to grab all the masterwork-looking armor and barding, but two swords, a bow and the gnome's dagger all radiate magic, as does his backpack.
You'll just have to leave the bodies where they lay, if you want to hide.

GM Goblin King |
You ride north 200 yards into some trees to hide. You see a line of horses and wagons coming down the trail. A couple of riders go forward to the site of your recent massacre, and start shouting at the caravan and drawing weapons.
Once the caravan gets to the site, there is much weeping and wailing. They take the remaining bodies and barding, and move the dead horses off the road, crying and cursing.
The wagons are covered or enclosed, for the most part. There are 12 of them, with a lot of people and horses to go with. There are lots of bows drawn, as a few of them track your mounts' trails. They call the search off, apparently, and return to the caravan.
Some of the riders talk for awhile, then the group moves on warily.

Velag Wordeater |

Velag smiles, "Thems friends of stoopits. Me not done getting revenge. Me say we eat gnome, take rest, and then go get them when thems sleep when dark -- stoopits not good at seeing. We get even more shinies and wagon-full of good meat for tribe. Me can track them easy."

Velag Wordeater |

Velag says, "It still there, on Gnome finger! We should also look see what Gnome carries in magic pack? Also, we gotses magic sword and bows.. maybe we use to trade for good stuff for usses?"

Klepy |

Presuming Klepy is dragged away he precede to follow the others. Once they are going over the body of the gnome Klepy announces. "Klepy wants shiny new dagger! Bag look good for carrying lotsa tings. Klepy want also! Ring is shinys! What it do?"

GM Goblin King |
Bucko identifies the ring:
Aura faint conjuration; CL 5th
Slot ring; Price 2,500 gp; Weight —
Description
This ring continually provides its wearer with life-sustaining nourishment. The ring also refreshes the body and mind, so that its wearer needs only sleep 2 hours per day to gain the benefit of 8 hours of sleep. This allows a spellcaster that requires rest to prepare spells to do so after only 2 hours, but this does not allow a spellcaster to prepare spells more than once per day. The ring must be worn for a full week before it begins to work. If it is removed, the owner must wear it for another week to reattune it to himself.
The bag contains 6 scrolls and a wand, along with 8 gems, a pearl, and 200 pp and 400 gp. Score! Roll to identify, along with the dagger. I'm guessing you grabbed the other magic weapons, too. Too big for you, but worth a lot to the right buyer.

Bucko Rackingclaw |

Bucko slips the ring on his finger and sets to the task of identifying other things......
Scrolls (I want to learn these if able)
Spellcraft 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Velag Wordeater |

Velag stares at the contents of the bag with a Detect Magic going, ready to help Bucko with the identifications...

While they're working, he suggests to Bucko in a whisper, "We keep monies away from Klepy before him hide them and forget where."
After that, if there's anything unidentified, Velag will try himself. He also laughs at Bucko, "You take ring make you eat less? You not like Gnome?"

GM Goblin King |
"You take ring make you eat less? You not like Gnome?"
Bluff d20+2
It takes a week, so gnome is on the menu tonight! Mmmm, gnome...
The scrolls are: identify, burning hands, true strike, enlarge person, alarm, and endure elements. Bucko can burn any that are on his list and know them automatically, 1 hour each.
The wand is daze monster, 31 charges, CL 3 (good thing you got the drop on them, didn't even get any spells off!).
The weapons are all +1 magic. The pearl is a pearl of power (1st level spell). One of the gems is really pretty. You might have a hard time getting Klepy to give it up!
The pack is, as you might have guessed, a handy haversack.

Velag Wordeater |

Velag sniffs at the wand, scrolls and pearl, "Even stoopiter gnome with the bad magics that not help Velag! It good thing you tasty."
He then looks at Bucko, "It lucky day for you. Next time, we make sure to grab cleric.... Mebbe an elfie one. Thems the tastiest clerics..."

GM Goblin King |
What you do with the stuff is up to you. The ring is great for whoever casts spells and can also guard your camp all night- once it starts working.
Aren't any of the scrolls usable by Velag? BTW, it's not fair to say the scrolls are written in a "language," per se. They're done in symbols and designs you can only understand if you can use scrolls yourself (by being a caster or having UMD). Now, a spellbook might indeed have language in it, since a wizard makes it his own way. Such books must be destroyed!
The gnome had a regular staff and light crossbow, too, if anyone cares.
Tark seems to have gotten the short end of the stick, but you got some valuable stuff you can use to make his share more equitable later on.

Velag Wordeater |

I assumed that the scrolls were all arcane rather than divine, considering the source... So.. no?

Oh, yeah. There is that... They're still worth something, though.

Tark Bashflat |

Tark seems to have gotten the short end of the stick, but you got some valuable stuff you can use to make his share more equitable later on.
Yeah I just can't believe they were not carrying a small sized magical earth breaker :) I don't expect Tark to get much loot. Without the ability to detect magic, he has no real means of telling what's useful or not, and he can only rely on his "chums" to find stuff that Tark could use.

GM Goblin King |
You can attack the caravan for the sheer joy of murdering innocents, but they probably don't have much stuff you'd want.
There is the small matter of stopping the boggard explosion, but the crossing with the little reptile-looking mark is still some distance away- a day and a half or so, if there's any scale to it.

Velag Wordeater |

Velag smiles at Tark, "Them not call us that. But still, night attack is what Gobbies do bestst! Thems have lots of yummies, the shinies them picked up before we could... and themses the same stoopits who kick us off road. We get what we need."
Velag rubs where the lance hit him, and nods, "Healsies a good plan too."
