Is Jalmeray based more off Indian culture? I'd say if you're worried about it being offensive then you could touch on some other cultures. Like, the premise kind of reminded me of Dilmun.
I have a small amount of knowledge of certain Asian/Middle Eastern/African cultures. I'm working on my own fantasy series and I wanted to touch more on cultures/civilizations that don't get represented much. I'm jealous of the two of you for having history degrees! I'd love to take some proper classes but that's not possible right now :(

I'm not worried about it being offensive because I intend to steer as clear away from Hindu, Muslim, Sihk, and other religious influences as I can. However, it will definitely draw from other regions as well. Culturally, Jalmeray is mostly Vudran (Indian) but with a strong influence from Garundi, especially Nex.

I didn't know you were a writer, Lali! So am I. (Chris, you can write Indian stories. Just be respectful when you do it!)
By the way, I very much liked meeting your friend Jolene at Skål Con! Thanks for introducing us.
:)
I had a ton of fun at the con running into people who said, "Oh... You're Hmm from the Paizo boards! So glad to finally meet you in person!"
Hmm

I wrote 94 pages of a novel about my first D&D character before I realized that the central theme was extremely similar to a web fiction novel I'd read like two years previous. I scrapped the whole thing, but something makes me wish I'd kept it for salvage reasons.
My GM has written one whole novel and several short stories, and still hasn't been published, although I really liked his stuff, as he wrote it about our first group and wrote my character particularly well.
GM Aest
I haven't really written any fiction in...ever. I've written a couple of papers that were presented at big-shot (for an undergraduate student) conferences, but nothing worth publishing. If I were to tune my Pink Floyd paper, though...

GM, how tall is this snowbank? I'm assuming it's the big blobby thing on the map.
Everyone else, leaping-over-the-snowbank ride-by attack on the werewolf, y/n? :p
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Aest
The snowbanks are the grey-er areas of snow on the map. They're perhaps two feet taller than the surrounding area, but unless you're leaping over, they're difficult terrain. The tree-looking thing is a downed tree.

Well, my horse has +10 on acrobatics checks to jump... ;-)

GM Aest
Alright, should be able to clear it, then!
Kazimir Vasilovich
I'm sure I could... Just wondering if it's a dumb move. >.>

I'd do the jump as a riding character!
I've also been trying to find the balance between playing and GMing... It's tough to keep the right balance! This has slowed down my posting rate in all my games.
Daen Aheritor
GM, I got crushed this week for time and did not have time to put together a character for your other game. Sorry about that. If you need someone to jump in later, let me know.
Do we want to bot Luthor until we hear from him?
GM Aest
I'm feeling like I should give him until this evening (my time) then start the botting, but that's just my feelings on it.
Daen Aheritor
I found this quote on one of Luthor's other aliases.
Hey, guys!
I'm actually going to be gone tomorrow and the next 10 days on a much needed trip with my family. I will try to keep up, but if you need to move things along, please feel free to bot me until I get back.
Otherwise, I'll be somewhat spotty over the next week and a half.
He posted it on the 15th, so he should be back either today or tomorrow, I think.
GM Aest
Alright, well, just looking at his statblock, it doesn't look like he has many great options for this situation. I'll just delay him this round.
Kazimir Vasilovich
This is still the same day, yeah? We haven't rested?

That was either more daring or more dumb then I thought I'd be. If nothing else, I've joined you and given you a flanking buddy, Kaz. Now hit the thing!
GM Aest
If you're curious, Kazimir's lance alone would have left the worg at 1 HP. However, since Laliytsa had just shot it...it's broken. Daen's crit successfully killed that wolf, by the way. I think.
Luthor Rowe
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. Ive been sort of out of it, and sitting down to write just seemed like a weirdly insurmountable task.
As for Daens quote, im not sure where he got that, but I dont think its from one of my aliases, lol.
Daen Aheritor
Weird.
Okay I had to check it out, and it seems that I actually looked it up for a different game that had stalled because we wondered where the other guy was, and I got the quote from him. I posted it with the wrong alias and got the two of the campaigns confused.
That's what I get for watching anime and posting at the same time, my bad.

Isn't it fun? Initially, I just wanted to make someone a bit more earthy and homely than your typical paladin (full plate, big horse, noble, trained for years, yadda yadda...) Then it turned into such a wonderful character development opportunity, I just had to go with it.
Cyanne Miller
Same here. It's a wonderful take on the trope, one that I personally love.
(Actually, I adore this entire group. It's wonderful sharing adventures with you, even when they get really scary!)
Cyanne Miller
Cyanne hugs Lali.
Oh, I hope your cat has a good recovery! It can be scary when your pets are sick!
GM Aest
It's dead. It's really, really dead.

Sorry for the monkey wrench I just threw you guys... A while back I discussed with Chris what might happen if this spell ever got thrown on Cyanne, and this is what we'd decided upon. It still works, mind. Just not completely the way it was intended to do so. Think of it as a bad drug reaction.
GM Aest
Y'know, I'd forgotten about that conversation. I was actually sitting there hoping he'd try to infernal healing the paladin, just to see what Kaz would do. XD
Cyanne Miller
Kaz would probably thank him for the healing and then say, "Never again."
Cyanne is still going to heal. But memorably. The party will likely never let me forget this.

Collapse into an existential crisis?
Cyanne Miller
I'm glad you two aren't furious at me for this. The parrty reactions to this should be really interesting.
Luthor, that bullrush was awesome and very very appropriate. But yes, it would have caused her to fall off her horse.
Kazimir Vasilovich
Gonna post soon. In the meantime, with the actions people have, is there any chance I could borrow the silver mace? Unless I can keep charging this thing, it might be a better bet.

GM Aest
You can borrow it. We're not really running 6-second turns at this point anyways.

Hmmm.... I was picturing Cyanne already in Daen's lap after he pulled them both to a seated position, so falling back into the same lap you were trying to get up from made sense to me.
:p
By the way, nice dodge, there.
I don't expect things to be easy either. Cyanne is fully expecting that Daen will want to leave, eventually. He's ambitious. She's a peasant-born halfbreed dancing girl. Hardly the type to impress his Surtovan relations.
GM Aest
I for one welcome that Daeyanne isn't a necessarily-permanent thing. From a story perspective, it'll make Restov that much more interesting later.
EDIT: Question about camping tonight. Are you planning on doing that soonish?
Kazimir Vasilovich
Camping sounds good. I think Kaz has had a pretty stressful day. :P
