Daen Aheritor |

Just for clarity, if Daen's attack killed one of the centipedes (which is likely because 5 points of acid damage killed one of the other centipedes) Then Kaz could step forward and cleave the next one. Either way, there's a spot to go to save the witch.
Why does that remind me of that Firefly episode?
Yeah, but she's our witch. So cut her the hell down.

Cyanne Miller |

I know. Kaz will save the day in all likelihood. And if he doesn't, after the mites attack, I can actually move and help Luthor out myself. It amuses me though that I do far more damage through your attacks than I do through my own... Cyanne can hit and do damage, but mathematically singing for you works better!
Love the quote, Daen!

Yay! Today I received my huge, calligraphed certificate saying that I passed my 1st Kyu brownbelt test. Next test: Shodan, or 1st level blackbelt. But that's not for another year or so.
Does anyone want to throw confetti with me? I promise to prestidigitate the thread clean afterwards!
Hmm

Kazimir Vasilovich |

Still around, just fighting off a bout of gastro (and other pains). Noticed that I do indeed have an error in my header - my Will save should be +6 (+3 base, +1 WIS, +2 CHA), and if that was a fear effect, Cyanne's song should have added another +1. No point retconning if that would have made a difference; I'll wear it as punishment for my oversight.
I'll try to post tonight, but I'm likely to just curl up and try not to hate my uterus too much.
And congrats, Hilary! That's fantastic news. I'd offer cake, but I'm on the other side of the world, infected, and can't afford the copious amounts of cinnamon and butter my favourite recipe would require. I'll settle for virtual hugs and streamers instead. :P

Cyanne Miller |

Lali, you have been quiet, and I've missed you! I'm overjoyed that there is nothing seriously wrong.
Kaz, that sucks about the gastro and the *ahem* other pains. I know how awful both of those can be. So, I offer virtual hugs, blankets and pillows, a foot massage and cups of your favorite tea.
When you feel better, I'd love for you to post your favorite recipe. I'm not much for cake, but I love cinnamon.
Actually, I'm offering hugs to everyone this morning -- players, lurkers and GM. If you haven't gotten hugged yet, consider yourself wrapped in a very warm and exuberant hug!
Hmm

Daen Aheritor |

I'll take one of those hugs.
It seems to have been an eventful past month for everyone. Patience is the key for a lot of things, and I'm getting used to exercising it. You all get a heaping spoonful of well-wishing from me as well, so make sure you hold your plate level or it will get messy.

GM Aest |

Yep, sure has, Daen. I'm back on the road this week, and it'll be rough for me to keep updated again. Sorry.

Kazimir Vasilovich |

Well, I'm feeling better, and also found out that I've been bumped up to 25 hours a week for the next 5 weeks (previously 15 hrs/wk). While it won't help me in the long-term (still don't have reliable employment for the purposes of home loans), I'll be able to squirrel away more and more for that eventuality, so that's good.
Oh, and here you go, Hmm:
Dry ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
Wet ingredients:
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 cup melted butter
Filling:
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp, 1 1/2 tsp flour
2 tsp cinnamon
Glaze:
1 cup icing sugar
2 1/2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl
In another bowl, mix all wet ingredients except melted butter
Add wet ingredients to dry and mix with a whisk until well combined. Add melted butter and mix until just combined. Spread evenly into a 9x9" cake pan.
To make cinnamon filling, mix all ingredients in a bowl. Drop by spoonfuls onto cake batter. Using a butter knife, swirl filling to get a marbled effect.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a knife in the center comes out clean.
To make glaze, mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Drizzle over te warm cake. Serve cake at room temperature.
I made it once at a local PFS game day, and it just evaporated. It's very buttery and cinnamonny, so great if you have a sweet tooth.
And travel safely, GM! It's a wild world out there.

Cyanne Miller |

Hey gang, I've officially declared insanity and will be GMing my first PBP: a PFS scenario called Overflow Archives. Do you have any tips for me?
Also, I figured I would check in and see how you all are doing. And to offer more hugs, if needed!

GM Aest |

I'm not familiar with the scenario, but my advice would be to make sure the maps look good blown up to a full page on Google Draw (assuming you're going to use that). I would also make a favorites folder with the statblocks for any enemies that don't have stats in the book, for ease of access. Finally, since it's PFS, I would read the scenario very heavily and try to think of any wierd rules issues that might come up, that way you can figure out how to adjudicate them.
As for myself, I stopped my 4 day drive home in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon at an aunt and uncle's house, and decided to stay here until Monday. It's been very relaxing (since they drive; if I had to drive around here, I'd lose my mind).

Daen Aheritor |

Well, it's bonespurs. Other than that, life's good. I still don't know if I'll need surgery or not, but I'm going to need to take an Alleve once per day for the foreseeable future, which does not make me happy.
As for tips, I think real insanity takes more of a commitment than running a PFS scenario. One of them is eventually over, while the other is a lifelong commitment. If you can do the first, you most certainly can do the latter.
Chicago driving is like watching horror films, the more you watch them the more you get used to them. I've decided though, that nether is worth it to me.

![]() |

Well Chris, I'm glad you're safe and getting a chance to see your Aunt and Uncle. I'm now trying to figure out mapping possibilities for my game, since I can't move things around on Google drawings while in mobile. Here's what I posted to my group:
So, based on a recommendation from DM Kludde, I am trying an experiment. I know that not everyone can edit Google drawings from tablets. (This is especially true of me, which can be problematic as a GM.)
Can everyone edit Google slides? I know that I can, and am now testing to see if you can. Can you fill out your information on the Campaign Handouts & Map and move your tokens around?
Thanks for your patience here!
I'll let you know how my experiment works.
Hmm
PS Meanwhile, Daen I do hope that your situation with the bonespurs gets better -- with surgery or without!

Daen Aheritor |

Don't be silly Kaz, there's no way mites could kill you. And you're not useless, you're just on a poor dice streak. It happens to lots of people.
When we ran Kingmaker for our home game, we had a paladin king who was notorious for only being able to miss a save on a 1, and then rolling it. And yet we pressed on. You can do it dude.

Kazimir Vasilovich |

I have a lot of characters with awful luck. Horatio's stats were a third the point-buy of anyone else in the party. Mikael swings between godlike luck, and not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. Erasmus has died twice (somehow the other pathfinders always want to bring him back). Tobias botched a survival check to remember a defensible location in the woods he's lived in for five years. And now, Kaz has spent an entire dungeon contributing zilch. I'm pretty certain the forum dice roller just hates me.

GM Aest |

It'll be okay! I promise! I'll make it okay!

Cyanne Miller |

Cyanne hugs Kaz.
You've just had a bad streak, that's all. You are our light and our strength. You are never useless.

GM Aest |

Actually, the cool part is that I can totally make it okay here in a bit!

Kazimir Vasilovich |

I need more sacrifices to the RNG. Maybe that will help. Or I need to knock Daen out; he seems to be stealing all the luck :P

Can't knock me out with those bad rolls. :P
Oh, that's low.

GM Aest |

XD
The mites don't actually have much of anything on their persons. That's not to say there's not loot to be had, but it's not on the mites.
Also, I've been forgetting to apply the mites' DR 2/Cold Iron. I mean, most of the damage has been so high it's irrelevent, but I've still been forgetting. Ah well...

Cyanne Miller |

Sigh.. If they have DR, then Cyanne's last attack was fairly pointless. She still gets style points, though, right?

GM Aest |

I actually think I'll just continue to pretend they don't have DR for the rest of this dungeon, just for the sake of consistency.

Cyanne Miller |

Oh, then maybe I killed one! And if I didn't then Daen surely did...
Nice swordplay, Daen! Nice shooting, Lali! And now it's Kaz's turn!

GM Aest |

@Daen and Luthor (and Everyone, but mostly Them): Hey, I'm writing a mini-adventure in Restov that goes in between Book One and Book Two. Do either of you have any NPCs you might know that'd be in Restov? Everyone else, I found some for you already!

Cyanne Miller |

Yay, NPCs! Yay, interactions! We can go shopping in Restov! Maybe pick up some new flashy clothes for Daen. A girl's got to dress her boyfriend up you know... Ooh! Ooh! I can dress everyone up!
I think that both Luthor's old school and Daen's old school are in Restov.
Hmm

GM Aest |

Yeah. I was mostly wondering if Daen has anyone he knows there not named Leo, and if Luthor has anything or if he'd like me to make something up.

GM Aest |

Thanks! I've certainly seen Emmala. We'll see what happens with her.

Great news, everyone! I'll be starting a job as a teachers' aid at one of my local elementary schools sometime late this week or early next week!

GM Aest |

ALL OF THEM!
No, seriously. First, Second, Third, and Fifth, depending on where I'm needed. The official title is "literacy paraprofessional", which means I help kidz read gud.

Kazimir Vasilovich |

Ooh! Ooh! I can dress everyone up!
For some reason, I can't see that ending well. I have that scene from Friendship is Magic in my head where Applejack wants to go to the Grand Galloping Gala wearing her work duds, and Rarity is horrified. Though I'd love to see Cy trying to get Lali into a dress...

Woohoo! That's fantastic news! :D

Laliytsa Iansoh |

Though I'd love to see Cy trying to get Lali into a dress...
That would be an interesting time. Laliytsa idea of dressing up is wearing clothes that aren't armor and don't have holes in them.
Now, if you could find a dress that's also armor that could work.

Glamered armour! All the protection of a breastplate, but it looks like a flowy evening gown! :P

GM Aest |

So...is anyone keeping track of the loot in the game? I'm curious because it seems like no one except Laliytsa has messed with the loot tracking spreadsheet.
Also, same question to Luthor and Daen about potential NPCs. It's fine if you don't have any ideas, but let me know.

Cyanne Miller |

I'll admit I haven't touched it before now. I've been trying to run and finish Risen from the Sands before September 19th when the same group is supposed to start Overflow Archives. I'm running the module at top speed, which is taking up much of my bandwidth.
Nice awesome award, though. I agree that she deserves it.
Hmm

Luthor Rowe |

Great news, everyone!
I cant be the only one who thought of this
Cheers on the job!
As for NPCs, I am again reminded of my lacking background. It just always seems to go on the back burner for me. Thinking up a few NPCs should atleast be doable, ill try to have something for you asap.
