After asking for a 15 second headstart Lindale drinks the invisibility potion and starts running. As soon as he gets close enough he begins levitating up to the top level. Pulling himself up over the edge he looks around for something to secure rope to.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 3 = 0Plus invisibility

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

Well then...
At the top.

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (12) + 1 - 3 = 10Plus invis which im guessing lasts only a minute

While with invisibility you can probably stroll through the room easily, the rope is not invisible. Do you want to continue with this plan?

The trapdoor for the ladder to descend a level looks sturdy, as does the door mechanism.

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

Rope that I still hold will stay invisible upto 10 feet from me. If i stay near the edge it should be ok.

*Double checks rules on invisibility*. Ah you're right, my bad.

As the soldier continues rambling off names the officer at the mechanism holds up a hand. "Henry, you 'ear dat?" The other officer turns around. "Hear what? Your incessant whining about the morning shift? At least pretend like you're human, drink it off like the rest of us." He grumbles and waves to the soldier, who continues rambling off names.

You now have the rope securely attached to the mechanism.

Once Toramin is up the rope, he will fling himself into combat. He is trying to position himself in such a way to protect the window and be able to bash anybody who goes for the trap door. His first attack will go against the person who looks like they are in charge or the person nearest the trap door.

Toramin ascends with a surprising amount of stealth, peering in the window. He flips over and in, charging the nearest officer and breaking his right femur with a decisive strike. The man cries out, going for his sword but Toramin mirros the blow and shatters the other leg, dropping the man.

Lindale you can act in the surprise round, after that we're in initiative (although this is pitifully one sided, bravo on the rope trick). Also, give me an init roll.

Huffing and puffing up a rope after failure to hold it correctly initially (it had been some time for him), the transmutor decided saving his magic for later would be safer. All afuss about going in, we never thought about getting out. No, it wouldn't be an issue if everything went smoothly. But why should they expect that?

Oh I forgot to answer your question Lindale. No, nobody looks particularly important. Two officers who are better trained, but nobody important.

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

Hmm...early morning with the sun through the windows. I'm going to call that normal lighting, so your deeper darkness should get it to dark

As told from the officers POV
"Yeah yeah, every bodies here now get out. Those Andrilian scum are probably going to try something." He yawns, looking at the other officer by the window. "Oh just bloody relax, they're going to attack either way, it's not like..." He hears a clang, then turns to see an armored dwarf swinging a hammer at him! Before he can even think of how such a preposterous appearance could have happened the swing shatters his leg. He swears loudly "Ring the bell! Ring the..." Another blow from the dwarf silences him. As the other two begin gaining there senses a drow with a wicked grin appears, snapping his fingers and drowning them all in blackness. From within the darkness is heard a cry of pain and two quick snickts...then silence. The officer draws his blade, holding it out before him and swinging it back and forth, utter terror on his face. "I'm warning you! I'll sick the king's dogs on you!"

One officer and the soldier down. I just wanted to let you guys know how utterly terrifying that deeper darkness made your entrance.

Just reaching the top of the rope and seeing the room covered in darkness, Dalton merely entered the room and stood next to the wall. Can't see anything in this blasted darkness! The relative quiet was probably a good sign for them though.

Like seriously, that was a reverse flash-bang style entrance. One person is seen for a split second, then all vision is gone.

I might have misunderstood. Is it just Lindale and Toramin until the rest of us climb up?

You have boots on the ground at the end of the surprise round, but the rest of you lack darkvision. Any ideas on how to help? (even though all that's left is one very terrified man)

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

Cow!? I'll show you who's the cow...

But Bjorkus has darkvision.

Huh, forgeting my own custom race rules. Well either way you guys have one terrified guard who can't see anything...standing next to an open window. Not exactly the hardest fight in the world

So are we hand-waving it?

Well you get to choose his demise. Weapons or a fall? Or a captive? Or a friend? Or a poker buddy? Either way, you have a minute or two before Heff's men reach the top of their gatehouse.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Bjorkus knocks down the blinded guard and sits on him.

"Keep quiet and you might survive this", he rumbles.

Seeing the guard subdued Lindale dismisses the darkness, allowing Dalton to see again. "sorry about that."
Is the thing we need to lift up here? How are the other soldiers coming at us?

At the west end of the room you see the large mechanism Heff described. It has four handles that a man can push on to open the gate.

Underneath you there is the sound of soldiers shouting and metal clanking. It sounds like they're getting suspicious and coming up to investigate. The trapdoor for the ladder is on the east end of the room.

The officer sits quietly underneath Bjorkus.

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

do we have to wait for Heff to do it?

Needs to be done simultaneously, so you have a bit of time holding off the guards who want to see what all the noise is about.

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

"Shall we hold them off or take it to them. I am able to create darkness another time today." He stands near the trapdoor.

"Save it", Bjorkus says. "The elf can't see through it and we have a more fightin' to come."

The bull looks down at the captive underneath him.

"Who's in charge of this tower?"

He spits. "Your bastard mother."

Oh, he's a real charmer.

Male Drow Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 5 Init +3, Hp: 37/37, AC: 14(16)/Touch: 11/ Flatfooted: 14(16), Fort: 5/Ref: 3/ Will: 6, CMD: 17; Initiative +3; Perception +12; Sense Motive +10

Lindale smirks. Clearly this man had not met any half-minotaurs.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Bjorkus snorts dismissively. "Don't know much 'bout my mother but I don't think she'd like you talkin' like that."

The minotaur shifts his massive weight to cause the prisoner pain.

"Start talking. You're not gunna like what comes next..." he rumbles.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

The man cries out in pain, trying to squirm out from under you. "It doesn't matter anyways, you killed him!" He jerks his head towards the dead officer. "I'm second in command but the soldiers would be suspicious if I gave orders instead of him."

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

"You're in charge now. Call off your men or a whole lot of them are gunna die for a lost cause. You want that on your head?"

He swears "Don't you get it? I'm the backup officer. If I start giving orders randomly they'll know!"

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

"So what? Tell 'em to surrender."

The man grumbles, then calls out. "Men, listen up! I've been taken captive." He licks his lips, looking at Bjorkus. "But I'm as good as dead, so bust in here and take 'em out!"

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Bjorkus's nostrils flare in anger and he gets up off of his captive to hurl him out the window.

Toss: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

The man yells and struggles, but Bjorkus throws him out the window without too me effort. Meanwhile, underneath you can hear the mean rallying and heading up the ladder.

Well a minute or two until Heff is in position. How are you going to secure the trapdoor?

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Not sure how it's oriented but can we push some furniture over it?

Not unless you can rip the gate mechanism out of the masonry, and in that case you couldn't get your job done.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Bjorkus looks to the young noble.

"Think you could jam it? If not we're gunna have to kill a whole lot more of your people."

Toramin will take one of the people's swords and use that to brace the latch. He then moves the two dead guards onto the trap door.

"Any magic on the officer?"

Or masterwork armor for that matter?

Ooh the bodies, good idea. The officer has scale mail and the soldier has a chain shirt. Nothing masterwork or magic on either one.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Toramin gets into position to turn the device.

"Master Dalton, please watch for Heff's signal. Lindale, Gabriel, Bjorkus -- please help me with this device."

Time passes?

Waiting on Arjax. I'd prefer to let him catch up.
