This large chamber, carved from the living rock, is empty, but a door in the southeastern corner draws your attentions, and a passage gapes to the southwest. A new map is up!

Chumtooth puts his ear to the door, listening, but hears nothing beyond the portal (which is securely locked).

Dantes grimaces and says "We've come to far to let a locked door bring us to a halt." Conspicuously absent, though, is any offering from Dantes to actually deal with it.

1.) How sturdy is the wood. Is it solid, or soft, perhaps rotten?
2.) Are the hinges on this side of the door or the other? If they are on this side, are they rusted or clean? Could they be smashed or have the pins pulled?
3.) what does the locking mechanism look like? Is it a key hole lock, or is the door barred and padlocked? Is it locked from this side, the other side, or does it appear to be accessible from both sides?

1) Fairly soft; it looks rotted around the edges.

The door collapses inward in a shower of wood splinters, revealing a short passage with two doors on the right and one at the far end of the corridor. All of the doors have barred windows on them.

Satinder looks ahead, and signals for the casters to provide light on her sword.
"Chum, you keep to my left and we'll continue down this path." as she indicates to the end.
"Check every door, and kill anything that wants to harm us."
She waits for the light, and then steps inside, clearly looking around for signs of traps.

Scattered about the chamber are seven humanoid skeletons. They make no move as you enter, the light sweeping over them. They seem almost at peace.

Dantes growls in frustration at the mostly empty room. Unless the captain urges us to move along, he'll cast detect magic and survey the room. Then he'll start to carefully look for hidden compartments or passages.
When they leave again, he'll follow closely behing Chumtooth, ready to boost his strength if it is needed.

Satinder will signal a wait, before taking some bones and hurling them across the room, trying to scatter as much of them as she can.
"If this does not upset any evil undead..." she murmurs, while walking forward, kicking as many of the bones aside as she can.

As Satinder kicks the first bone aside, all of the skeletons animate and spring to life! They wield cutlasses and small shields.

Satinder jumps back.
"I KNEW IT!" she curses, as she takes out her weapon and slashes the closest one next to her.
She moves slightly, in case the master dwarf wanted to embiggen Chumtooth, like he tends to do.

No surprise here.
Dantes, reacting quickly, empowers Chumtooth, to permit the kuru to better vanquish his foes. Chumtooth does as expected, moving to the nearest skeleton and smashing it into splinters of bone with his morningstar. Satinder destroys the skeleton before her, slicing through it's spine and sending it clattering to the ground in many pieces.
The undead close in, attempting to strike the captain and her first mate. Each is hit once (Satinder takes 5 damage and Chumtooth takes 4).

Vic mutters a spell, then moves forward and pokes one of the skeletons.

Satinder sees Chum rushing in, and sees him make the mistake of turning his back on the skeletons. She slices one down, and steps up, creating a back-to-back fighting style.
"Vic, Dantes, get behind us." she orders quite calmly, even as the pile of bones drops to the floor.

"Hmm. More of the buggers than I thought..."
With the number of skeletons that has risen, Dantes seems to be taking them more seriously. Rather than follow Chumtooth's advance, he slides behind Satinder, tapping her on the shoulder to imbue her with a surge of arcane energy.
Giving her a +2 enhancement to strength for one round. I moved his icon on the map. Use 2 of 7 for the day.

Victoriana tries to put down one of the undead foes with a cure light wounds spell, but misses. Dantes slides behind Satinder and taps her on the shoulder, imbuing her with a bonus to her strength. Chumtooth takes down another skeleton, as does Satinder, who slides in behind the kuru to fight back-to-back.
The three remaining skeletons press the attack, swinging at Victoriana, Satinder, and Chumtooth. Satinder is hit for 3 points of damage and Victoriana is hit for 6.

Satinder will step up to any skeleton left standing after Chum and Vic's attacks. She can reach all of them with a single 5FS, and is considered flanking if she is adjacent to any ally.

Satinder watches the skeletons go down, and continues her fighting style. Not that it has paid off so far, but beter safe than sorry. A missed hit is better than a miss that hit, an old friend of her used to say.
She slices one skeleton down while stepping up, into the fray.
"So that's what you do when you touch Chum and he giggles. I kinda like it," she says with a naughty grin on her face, even as the pile of bones drops to the floor.

The remaining three skeletons are quickly dispatched and all is quiet once more. Vic looks over the weapons that the undead had and notices that one stands out from the rest; a masterwork cutlass!

"Good riddance!" she says, smiling at Chumtooth's comment.
"Gee-gulls are smiles, when you are happy. When a lady sits down on your small pirate and tells you she wants to have two of her girlfriends there too.. You gee-gull."

Finding no appreciation for his fine joke, Chumtooth grimaces and looks to the others.
"Do we go farther in, Captain? We can look this way," he says, pointing to the narrow passage going West.

"Of course, Chumtooth. Looks like a good choice. You take point, I'm right behind you!"
Satinder nudges the bones making sure they stop moving.

Chumtooth finds that there are two doors, one to either side of the hallway and about 5 feet between them. Both doors are unlocked, but stuck. It's going to take a little effort to open them, as the wood has swollen shut.

Chumtooth hurls himself against the door, but despite its age, it holds and he succeeds only in bruising his shoulder. Angered, the kuru kicks the door, only to find that it remains closed.

The remarkably sturdy door resists Dante's kick as well, and Chumtooth is beginning to wonder if the door may be enchanted!

Satinder tries not to interfere with the Kuru, but tries to see from a distance if it is a lock that could be opened with sly fingers and a few thin pieces of steel.
