Kaylee launches a performance!
Muzhaa'f casts a spell!
Oloch's onslaught on the heels of Jillia's crit is too much for blue, who drops to the ground, motionless!
Red charges Jillia!
bite: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21
[dice=bite dmg]1d8 + 2/dice] plus DC 14 Fort save for poison
You guys are up!

Jillia regains 1 panache for confirming a critical, woo!
Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 (The damage expression didn't work properly.)
That worked pretty well, last time, save for all of the bite marks.
Jillia again tumbles to a more advantageous position (again, possibly provoking) and makes a neat lunge-and-slice at the other snake.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Short Sword, Power Attack, Inspired: 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 9 - 2 + 1 = 22
Damage, Power Attack, Inspired, Precise Strike: 1d4 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 4 + 1 + 4 = 14

Frustrated by the inefficacy of his knack, he opts for something a bit more powerful. He concentrates on his mental power Focused Magic Missile: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7

GM thunderspirit |

Whoops!
bite dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 plus DC 14 Fort save for poison, which she made
Jillia does provoke again...
AoO on Jillia: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
bite dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 plus DC 14 Fort save for poison
Nemis fires a mental magic missile!
It gets absorbed into its brooch of shielding! :-P
Kaylee, Inira, Oloch, Muzhaa'f!

![]() |

Muzhaa'f steps in front of Kaylee. "Fire cleanse this place." He flings the flame from his fingers far from his foe.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 lolz

![]() |
Oloch moves into a tactically advantageous position and wallops the snake with his big stick.
Attack Flanking1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 Damage 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 4) + 12 = 17

![]() |

"You guys are doing great! Here, let's see if this helps..." Kaylee says in between cheers. Ending her performance for now, Lingering will keep it going for 4 more rounds.
Kaylee pulls out her shortbow, notches an arrow and takes a pot-shot at the remaining snake.
shortbow: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 1 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

GM thunderspirit |

Kaylee's shot goes wide, while her inspiration lingers on!
Oloch wallops the snake (giggity), but it remains upright!
Muzhaa'f throws his produced flame, to no avail!
Inira!

![]() |

Inira steps forward 5' to get within point blank range of the snake, and fires a few arrows.
Flurry Ranged Attack, PBR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Flurry Ranged Attack, PBR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

GM thunderspirit |

Inira's second shot hits!
Red moves over slightly and attacks Oloch!
bite 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
bite 1 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 plus DC 14 Fort save for poison
bite 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
bite 2 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 plus DC 14 Fort save for poison
You guys are up!

Since Oloch seems to be holding on, and weary about the challenges yet to come, Nemis opts to use only a fraction of his power: TK Projectile: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 for DMG: 1d6 ⇒ 5

![]() |

Inira keeps on the onslaught.
Flurry Ranged Attack, PBR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Flurry Ranged Attack, PBR: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

"QUIT MOVING AROUND!" Kaylee shrieks incredulously, and then looses another arrow. 3 rounds left of lingering performance.
shortbow: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

![]() |

Oops, Nemis didn't include the bardic performance boost.

![]() |

No relenting.
Jillia once again dances around within the snake's reach to get to a position opposite Oloch to make another precise strike.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Spending one panache to double possible precise strike damage.
Short Sword, Inspired, Flanking, Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 30
Confirm?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Damage, Inspired, Power Attack, 2x Precise Strike: 1d4 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 4 + 1 + 8 = 18
If Crit, an additional: 1d4 + 2 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 4 + 1 = 10

GM thunderspirit |

Jillia and Inira combine to finsih off the amphisbaena!
Out of combat!

![]() |

"Such a unique creature!" Nemis begins to search the room as he speaks, "I had hoped to find some kind of powerful weapon or piece of information that would help us with the beast in the other room."

![]() |

Nemis starts by concentrating on the flail and the shield with his gaze (Detect Magic) He also looks about for anything he didn't catch before the amphisbaenas attacked.

![]() |

Jillia recovers her spent Panache point.
"What about the flail?" Jillia asks, pointing at the mosaics. "It seems like it was pretty important. Too bad it's so big." (For a halfling, at least.)

GM thunderspirit |

Nemis learns that the shield, while once magical, has been damaged beyond repair.
I will need the alignment of any PC who tries to pick up the flail.

GM thunderspirit |

Jillia recovers her spent Panache point.
Yes, forgot to mention that Jillia's crit confirmed.

![]() |

Really need to grab Spellcraft on Kaylee....
Kaylee looks at the pretty flail. "Hey guys, anyone know what this does?"

![]() |

Muzhaa'f lets the flame in his palm burn on and gazes at the flail, attempting to discern its magical properties. I can't actually make the check, but I'll ask about the schools of magic via detect magic?

![]() |

"It's a weapon important enough to be the subject of artwork. Someone should take it, before that golem collapses the entire structure," Jillia suggests. "I could grab it, but it's a bit big for me to use. Oloch? Kaylee? Inira?"
NG, if I'm picking it up.

GM thunderspirit |

In her head, she sees images of it being used by a cyclops to crush the heads of fiends and serpent-headed humanoids. She feels a sentience in this weapon; its purpose is to slay serpentine creatures, and can use neutralize poison at will when in combat with such creatures. In addition, she somehow knows it can cast liberating command three times per day.
Jillia can hear a voice in her head, though in languages she does not understand. She does, however, get an urge to put the weapon down, as if she is not meant to hold it.

![]() |

"Nor I. We should bring it back though. What of the shield? Surely it would be a boon for us as we enter that remaining room."

![]() |

Jillia's smile fades a bit when she touches the flail.
"It wants me to put it down," she announces, removing her hands from its hilt. "It also seems to want to destroy the Starwatcher."

![]() |

"It wants? I've heard of objects with psyches, but I've never experienced it first hand. Fascinating..."
Nemis cogitates for a bit, "Can anyone use it? We need to settle the score in the center of this place. Do we know what to do with theses discs? Is there any place left to look?"

![]() |

"We appear to have far more questions than answers at this juncture. Jillia, do you remember anything of what the Starwatcher Spirit looks like? Or what it said to you?"

![]() |

"Big serpent. Orange. Seemed to need discs for some reason or another. I owe it a good punching, but we should probably just kill it instead. "

GM thunderspirit |

No sooner are the words out of Jillia's mouth than a resounding CRACK is heard across the structure. It seems to have erupted from the room with the monolith.

![]() |

"No time to figure it out now! Hurry! Bring the flail! And the shield! And the mask!" Muzhaa'f casts bless and hurries in that direction.

GM thunderspirit |

The party scampers back into the chamber just in time to see the automaton's fist rearing back for another blow, the doors already battered and cracked!
(Assume that you've had one round to cast a spell or activate an ability; I'll let Muzhaa'f use his bless or choose a different one if desired; then we'll be in initiative. Just let me know what your action is, if any.)
Jillia: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Kaylee: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Muzhaa'f: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Nemis: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Oloch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
xacarba & monolith: 1d20 ⇒ 19
With a final blow, the enormous construct smashes through the stone doors. Framed in the doorway is a Gargantuan black-and-red serpent with three tails and six eyes. A gloating telepathic cry exudes from the creature, Foolish, mindless machine! Now you are the prisoner, and I am finally free! With a dazzling flash, the two creatures change places: the golem in the smaller room and the serpentine fiend outside of it. As the serpent begins to uncoil, the golem lunges forward and grasps the fiend by its head. The two titans are in a temporary stalemate; the golem cannot release its hold or the fiend will escape, and the fiend cannot break the golem's grip!
As a reminder: the walls of the large, vaulted room are carved with stylized astronomical symbols. The north wall contains four large panels, each eight feet above the ground with a central gap about seven inches wide and an inch deep. Above the four panels are blocky letters, and below them, mosaics featuring sway-backed cyclopes. The chamber's floor displays a stylized depiction of Golarion and its moon traveling around the sun.
In the first mosaic, the large doors are ajar and three snake-like tails are slithering free. In the second, four cyclopes each place small discs into the panels. In the last mosaic, beams from the panels push back the serpentine tails.
In stark contrast, the room from which the beast came has nothing at all carved on its walls. It is well-lit from something in the far corner.
Everything within the red outlined boxes is threatened area by the snake thing. Judge yourself accordingly.

Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Linguistics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
So many questions!
"MOON SUN VOID STARS! On the wall!"
1. Do our discs match in size and shape to the panels?
2. We have 2 right? Are there 2 in the wall already?
3. Do our discs bear any indication as to an affiliation to any of the four words?
4. How heavy are the discs? Asking for a friend.
5. Does it look like the stalemate is going to last?

GM thunderspirit |

1. Do our discs match in size and shape to the panels?
It's hard to tell for certain without pulling one out to compare, but it's close in size.
2. We have 2 right? Are there 2 in the wall already?
Nope.
3. Do our discs bear any indication as to an affiliation to any of the four words?
The one Jillia found emits a darkness effect. The one Arletta gave Muzhaa'f shines like torchlight.
4. How heavy are the discs? Asking for a friend.
Despite their relatively small size, each weighs about 30 lbs.
5. Does it look like the stalemate is going to last?
For the time being. Nemis suspects, however, that it won't last forever.

Inira starts shooting arrows at the snake with incredible speed.
Use a Ki point to add an additional attack.
Ranged Attack, Flurry, Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Ranged Attack, Flurry, Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Ranged Attack, Flurry, Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Assuming that first two miss but last one crits! Hope that gets past damage reduction... and since Inira is going last, it seems, didn't add in any pluses from bless or whatever else might be cast.
Damage x3: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) + 12 = 27

![]() |

Nemis's mind works quickly.
"Oloch I hope you have more of that ultraviolence ready! We need to get those stones into the slots! Darkness is VOID, torchlight is probably STARS, whatever is making that light is SUN! QUICKLY while they're still locked!"
I see this going south very quickly for us. Oloch get in and fire it up while they're locked in combat while 2 people go in for discs 3 & 4. Whoever has the 2 discs currently should get them out and immediately back Oloch up until we have them all for the wall.

![]() |

I missed the part about the 1 round. Nemis uses Expeditious Retreat as soon as the crash sounds.

![]() |

Kaylee grabs whichever item her friends didn't grab and books it along with them.
Probably my last post until Monday, guys, just a reminder. :)

![]() |

If there's time as we run:
Jillia will use the Tactician ability to give the party the Coordinated Maneuvers feat for 5 rounds.
"Time to go. Let's show this snake who's boss."

![]() |

The mithral golem is the SMALLER of the two?! Now would be a great time for me to have prepared grace...
"I don't think weapons will save us. Nothing for it. Sarenrae protect me, I will recover those lights!" Muzhaa'f rushes forward toward the two abandoned discs, dodging the titans underfoot.
Either I make it or I'm dead. One of the two. I'm hoping it's grappled and can't make AoOs.

![]() |

Nemis won't let Muz go alone. He's also MUCH faster. He goes too.

GM thunderspirit |

Okay, so: activate tactician for Jillia, bless for Muzhaa'f, expeditious retreat for Nemis, divine favor and activate sacred weapon (Swift) for Oloch. I have Inira's first action in initiative (and know what Muz and Nemis have planned too); does she have an action prior to initiative?

GM thunderspirit |

Gotcha, thanks.
Round 1
Jillia
Sex Snake-type thing
Oloch
Muzhaa'f
Kaylee
Nemis
Inira
Jillia is up!
