Going to assume Bewm was using kinetic and Jena energy, please specify the exact weapon type in the future rolls.

Bewm's shot flies wide of Ratrod, but both Jena and Taser Facer just barely land their shots. As Taser Face blasts Ratrod, he slaps a button on his junkracer which seems to absorb the shot Taser Face landed! Instead of harming his vehicle, it instead seems to boost it and turn it into power! Ratrod laughs loudly as grabs a hold of his firing controls.

From the field Ratrod takes aim at Laboni and blasts her with his weapon, shaking the entire junkracer. Laboni cureses loudly as the shot lands, but Kai's excellent skills enable the machine to continue moving ahead. Velcoity takes aim at Ratrod but misses terribly, nearly shooting the crowd in the process. She takes her second shot at Orsis and lands the shot into the rear tire. Nyizin takes aim at Orsis also shoots so badly that a shot blasts near the announcer!

The crowd cheers after the shots and the junkracers all take off. Only Ratrod and Shake n Bake are able to get out of the starting area cleanly, the others are so consumed by all of the firing they all grind into each other and only get half as far as they should out of the gate.

Round 2: (1) Pilot + (3) Ranged

Jena curses under her breath and takes aim again at the Ratrod.

Kai smiled as the other pilots smashed into each other coming off the start, and weaved around a flying piece of junk - where did that come from? - as he remotely piloted the racer up the track. Looking at the competitors, it seemed that only Ratod, of course, was keeping up with Laboni. The girl herself looked like she was barely holding on. Kai shrugged to himself. As long as the racer crossed the line, it didn't matter if its rider was smeared across a hundred feet of track...probably.

"TASERFACE SMASH!"

Taserface literally smashes on the buttons controlling the kinetic firearm aiming at Ratrod

Harrac yells encouraging things to the more active members of the team.

When nobody steps up to fire again, Harrac grins and decides to take a turn. He spins the energy weapon around to aim at Ratrod and jabs the button, "HA!" When nothing happens, he jabs the button again, thinking it's stuck. Growing frustrated, he looks down to see the turn signal indicator flashing, "oops".

Atk: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 2 = 0

After all three of Laboni's weapons miss a voice booms loudly, "It looks like Shake N Bake forgot to point their weapons at a target!" the announcer says cheerfully to which the crowd roars in laughter.

Ratrod takes aim at your junkracer and blasts, laughing loudly. When it hits the crowd cheers loudly.

Remembering that your junkracer shot at Velocity last round, they target you and blast you with their kinetic weapon. The shot narrowly misses your junkracer though by the smallest of margins.

Nyizin takes aim with both of her weapons, one at Ratrod which lands successfully and the other at Orsis which misses again. The ysoki anticipates the shot from Nyizin and once more turns the damage to his vehicle to his advantage!

Ratrod's nearly causes Kai to slam into the wall, but he manages to recover from the skid and maintains control to continue moving ahead. Ratrod keeps pace with your junkracer again and Velocity manages to recover from her mistake last round and moves into third. both Orsis and Nyizin fail to move faster than half speed.

"Keep it up Kai!" Jena shouts, taking aim at the Ratrod again.

To Hit, KAC: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10

Bewm fires the energy weapon at Ratrod. Maybe we can overload his diverter shielding.

EAC: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 2 = 6

Bewm curses and slams his fits on the the control panel.

Inari looks at the crew shooting left and right before she yells out "Enough, let me try!"
She reaches out to the energy weapon and takes aim at Ratrod.
EAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 - 2 = 4

Also, damn you guys suck at shooting.

Grr...Got distracted by the wife and swapped posts

Though proficient with installing the weapons, the Starfinders apparently did not take training classes on using them. All three of their shots once more seem to blast everything but their targets! Laboni looks over her shoulder and shouts something at the Starfinders. Though her voice is lost in the crowd, it doesn't look like she was complimenting you on your excellent shooting skills.

The missing doesn't seem to end with the Starfinders though, as all but one of the other racers shots all miss. The only shot that lands is once more from Nyizin who hits Ratrod. Once more the small creature turns the attack into a boost for his vehicle as it absorbs the attack and surges ahead.

Orsis still can't get the hang of the track and fallers further behind amd Velocity and Nyizin. Nyizin edges Velocity out and pulls barely ahead for third place, but Velocity comes back beside her.
You manage to continue to keep pace with Ratrod as you fly down the track.

ROUND 4 GO!

“try actually hitting him for a change !” Kai was paying too much attention to the lack of gunnery that he let the junkracker drift to true left and scrape a junk pile.

"PEW PEW!" against Ratrod

"This weapon is deficient!" Jena exclaims, aiming at the ratrod and shooting again.

"This blasted gun! Let me try again!"
Inari shoots the energy weapon again aiming at ratrod
EAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 1 - 2 = 17

Jean and Taser Face blast all around Ratrod as he swivels his racer left and right. While dodging those two rounds however, he steers it directly into Inari's blast! Ratrod's junkracer pulses brightly as he takes the shot and converts it into an energy boost for his racer, hooting and hollering loudly.

Velocity finally gets thier shot to land on Shake N Bake, Laboni cursing loudly as the blast seems to temporarily short some of the circuitry. Both of Nyizin's shot miss and the crowd is starting to wonder why all of the junkracers with all of the weapons can't hit anything!

Kai struggles to maintain control of the junkracer due to Velocity's blast and seemingly just when it can't get any worse, it does. Ratrod lines up a shot and blasts your racer again which causes the machine to shake and shudder for a few seconds during which time Kai loses control of the machine. Laboni screams as Shake N Bake blasts into a six foot pile of rubber tires before bursting out the other side, losing a little speed in the process. The crowd "Ooooooohs" as tires fly into the stands.

Ratrod takes advantage of your setback and shoots ahead at full speed to take first place. The crowd roars when this happens and Laboni falls into second place.

Orsis, Nyizin and Velocity finally all go full throttle and blast towards Laboni and closes the gap slightly. The announce shouts, "Ratrod is in first, followed by Laboni! Nyizin is in third and Orsis is barely in front of Velocity who is brining up the rear! The race is getting interesting!"

I had been tallying the locations incorrectly previous, the numbers below are correct.

ROUND 5 GO!

Jena glares at Inari, "What did you do!?" as she aims her dysfunctional sight and pulls the trigger.

"I dont know!" Inari shouts, as she is clearly distraught by what she thought was a friendship she had with Velocity.
"TRAITOR!"
Inari takes aim at Velocity with the Energy weapon

Kai cursed as Laboni crashed through the tires, slowing down immensely. He quickly worked his remotes and fired an auxiliary thruster to sideslip past rolling junk and the blaster fire of the other racers.

ROUND 5

Having landed a shot on the Starfinders, Velocity now takes aim at Ratrod who is in the lead. Their shot lands and once more Ratrod's junkracer absorbs the blast and converts it into power. What he doesn't see coming however is Nyizin. Switching targets to Ratrod, the soldier uses the upgraded energy canon to blast the ysoki. Caught by surprise, he swerves left into a huge pile of broken circuit boards near the outside of the course. As he slams into the boards he curses loudly as he loses speed and falls back into second place.

Velocity laughs loudly at Ratrod until Inari's blast sends her spinning into a pile of rubbish. The announcer comments "Looks like Shake N Bake wants to finish off Velocity for good!" She looks at Laboni with disdain and sets her target off of Ratrod and back onto Shake N Bake. The remaining two shots from Taser Face and Jena hit the track harmlessly.

Kai's recovery allows your junkracer to blast ahead and full speed ahead of Ratrod. The ysoki recover just in time to see Nyizin close the gap between them to less than 15'. Orsis was only a few feet behind Nyizin for fourth and Velocity continues to fall further and further into the rear.

"You are useless with this gun!" Inari takes the gun from TaserFace, and takes aim at RatRod, in an attempt to maintain first place.

"Good shot, perhaps you shall be famous for something else." Jena comments as she takes aim at the Ratrod again.

She grins in satisfaction as her shot tears off a chunk of the Ratrod.

"How about we stop pissing off the person in last place and do something about those closer to us."

Something about what he had just seen nagged at Kai, even as he remotely guided the Shake 'n Bake through the next turns.

"Wait a minute! Did anyone else see that? It looked like though the first laser hit helped Ratrod, the second threw him off."

Harrac moves the reticule to Nyizin and Jack the button. He can't figure out why nothing happens until he sees the arc of windshield wiper fluid hit Laboni square in the face.

EAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 - 2 = 2

ROUND 6

Two of the shots land on Ratrod, one of them absorbs and one of them doesn't. They seem to cancel each other out as both the Starfinders and Ratrod plow ahead at full speed. Laboni maintains first place, but Ratrod is directly behind her. One false move and he will quickly overtake her.

The three other racers all miss their shots and are so preoccupied with each other that they fall behind as they bump into each other and only progress and half speed this round. Orsis just edges out Nyizin for third and Velocity maintains a solid fifth place.

Kai ignored the others now as he focused completely on the track. From the front sensors and what he could see, it looked to be fairly straight, with few obstacles, so Kai slalomed a bit to throw off anyone’s aim.

Throwing up her hands in frustration, "Both our energy and kinetic shots are being absorbed!" hoping that another kinentic shot wouldn't be absorbed, she takes aim and pulls the trigger!

To Hit, KAC: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 = 17

"I don't know! What if yours gets absorbed! Let me try again!"
Inari blasts one more time at RatRod
KAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 - 2 = 2

Jena's shot is absorbed by Ratrod's machine, converting the damage into additional power. It does not however convert the shot that Nyizin lands that seems to negate the bonus applied to her. Even worse for Ratrod, it appears that Harrac's earlier intimidation is starting to take a toll on the ysoki as he grows frustrated that Laboni is in front of him. He slams his fist into the steering controls which causes him to swerve off course for a second and lose speed. As he does so he jams his hands on the firing controls and blasts Laboni with his weapon. Shake and bake shudders for a second as Kai desperately tries to help re-balance the electrical overload.

He figures out how to divert the power and just as the junkracer would surge forward Nyizin's rattles the rear of the machine with a burst of pellets from his second gun which prevents Laboni from accelerating to full speed. Frustrated by his place in third, Nyizin slams his fist down on a control which unfolds a huge set of boosters on both sides of sides of the junkracer! The tremendous boosters look like they will give him a serious boost in performance, but will make him an easy target for anyone shooting in his direction.

Both Nyizin are busy dodging debris on the track and aren't able to achieve maximum speed this round either. Only Velocity who is bringing up the rear seems to be able to truly focus on the open track and begins to close the gap between her and the racers before her. Velocity takes aim at Laboni once more and bullets ricochet off frame as they come within inches of causing serious damage to the engine. It appears Velocity has not forgotten about being shot at in third place!

Kai's remote crackles as Laboni reports in, "Just what in the hell are you guys doing to me back there?! Are you shooting anything? Look! I've just hit top speed, we can't go any faster, so just try to keep them off me and keep me going!"

ROUND 7

ROUND 8 GO!

"Listen, woman! If you hadn't run your mouth off where you shouldn't you wouldn't be in this position. If you think you can do a better job, we'll just walk away and let you take it from here. Otherwise, shut your mouth, hand on tight, and try and pretend you know which end of a racer points towards the finish line!"

Kai tried to maintain speed while slaloming again. It was harder to do, since the damage from those three shots last turn were making the control surfaces act flaky.

Agitated at Ratrod, TaserFace continues aiming at him, praying one of the blasts will actually break through

In return fire to Velocity, Jena aims the energy cannon at it.

"I don't want to give ratrod anymore power! He has some sort of shield I do not understand!"
Inari instead takes aim at Nyizin who sure is making a bunch of noise.
KAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 2 = 8

Harrac sees the big boosters unfold from Nyizin's racer and curses. He looks at the control board, searching for the right button to press. He sees a small green one with what looks like a trigger above it. When he reaches toward it, however, Inari's hand darts forward and slaps something else.

ROUND 8

Despite not taking any time to aim, Inari's shot lands on Nyizin. The blast from the weapon prevents the soldier from accelerating to full speed and causes him to fall all the way back to fifth place. The announcer and the crowd cheer, "Oooooh! I wonder if Nyizin will point both of his weapons at Laboni now?!" Nyizin almost crashes entirely into a huge barrel, but just manages to avoid the near disastrous dilemma.

On the verge of losing control, Kai and Laboni manage to barely keep the junkracer moving in the right direction. That is, until Laboni slams into a large scrap piece of metal on the road and causes the junkracer to slow down to half throttle.

Both Taser Face and Jena miss with their shots but Ratrod blasts Laboni once more. Kai struggles to overcome the damage just as one of Nyizin's shots land as well. Luckily for the Starfinders, Nyizin shot them with the smaller of the two guns. The larger gun is trained on Ratrod who surges forward from the blast.

Velocity's shot harmlessly hits a large pile of metal in the distance. For the second time in a row, Velocity is the only one moving ahead and full throttle. Blasting forward from last place to third place, Velocity begins to finally gain some ground on the competition..

The announcer shouts, "That's more than halfway folks! They'll be barreling towards the finish line in seconds!"

ROUND 9 GO!

"AHHH i cant figure this thing out! I think it works, then it does not, then it does, Blargh!"
Inari takes aim back to RatRod once again
KAC: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 - 2 = 4
As she aims at RatRod, she telepathically talks to Velocity. "Hey, sorry about before! I was caught up in the moment and misjudged my aim. Help us with Ratrod, and ill treat you to a drink tonight"
diplo: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Kai could curse fluently in seven languages, and employed all of them in his tirade against the faulty weapons systems they had apparently installed, and Laboni's overall lack of anything remotely resembling skill. Still, he managed to recover and whip around the next couple of truns.

Bewm steps up to the controls again and tries his luck.

Jena shoot Orsis.

ROUND 9

Nyizin does indeed target Laboni with both of his guns, and he lands both blast. Energy and pellets rattle the junkracer and Laboni screams as lets go of the controls to shield her face from the bullets that are coming from the rear? Kai does what he can to maintain control during the gap and just barely manages to maintain full throttle.

Ratrod waits for the shot that never comes. Without the attack to absorb and still only moving at half throttle, he doesn't overtake Laboni and still stays right on her heal.

Nyizin's boost seemingly is working as he pulls back ahead into third, and only a racers length behind Ratrod! Velocity slows to fourth, but is only 70 feet behind Nyizin. Orsis takes Jean's attack in surprise as his junkracer sputters and continues ahead at half throttle as well.

ROUND 10 GO!

Kai held the juddering controls steady as the haptic feedback circuits went into overtime with the combination of weapons hits and that fool Laboni taking her hands off the controls. One of the rear fairings was hanging loose, dragging the ground occasionally. He tried to bank away from that side, leaning the junkracer hard and nearly spilling Laboni from the seat.

Bewm fires the energy weapon at ratrod.

TaserFace aims at Nyizin and fires

KAC,ratrod: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 2 = 9

Bewm lands his shot on Ratrod who sucessfully absorbs the energy and converts it to power! That is, until Velocity feels the need tugging at the back of her mind to shoot Ratrod. Turning her attention towards the ysoki she blasts him and causes his system to overload with energy and slow back down.

Velocity continues to plow ahead at full throttle followed by Orsis and Nyizin who once again is too consumed by shooting rather than piloting.

The announcer cheers, "AND HERE THEY COME DOWN THE STRETCH!"

Laboni chirps once more, "We're going to win, we're going to win, we're--" She cuts off when Ratrod takes aim once more at our junkracer and blasts with everything he has. Unfortunately for him however, the blast zooms directly across the front of Laboni's junkracer and misses.

The Starfinders take aim at Ratrod and Bewm blasts him once more, powering up his junkracer. Velocity and Nyizin also both take at Ratrod and blast him as well! With three hits landing Ratrod's junkracer spin out of control across the track and flips over as it begins to barrel roll.

The Starfinder racer comes zipping by in a blur. It crosses the line to cheers of shock and amusement! Velocity, Nyizin and Orsis all zoom past him and Laboni screams and hollers as Shake N Bake flies across the finish line. The announcer screams as the crowd cheers, "AND IT'S SHAKE N BAKE! It looks like Ratrod is the one that is shook and coo--. Hey get off me! I was just-" The speakers crackle with static as they fall silent, but no one notices as the crowd begins to chant "LA-BO-NI! LA-BO-NI! LA-BO-NI!" over and over.

Laboni's smile is infectiously wide as she returns to you. Before she reaches you, she pivots to approach a very annoyed Ratrod. It's obvious that she's apologizing for her previous statements. The ysoki’s pride clearly still hurts, but the gesture seems to have an impact on him. After taking time to revel in the victory, you take a moment to send word to Radaszam of your victory. While talking to him he cuts in with a hearty belly laugh, "Would you look. at. that. Hey agents, the Salvage Union, Ratrod's gig just sent a peace offering to boot. Head over to race headquarters. They've got a credit stick with 400 big ones and some graphite skin armor for you. I'll let Laboni know those extra spoils are yours."

Kai wiped his palms on his pants and smoothed back both his antennae and hair.
“that was a little more strenuous than I had planned for. Still, we won, didn’t we? Now maybe we can hit up a tap after and have a drink or three.

When he heard abou5 the extra goodies, he smiled and said, “Looks like the drinks are on Ratrod! Let’s go celebrate and decide where to next. ”

Jena follows along silently, with a blank look on her face. Her thoughts churning over the resolution of the race.
