Fendahl disregards the servants as not seemingly culpable in the assault.
Turning to Marta. Hrrmm. This seems as likely a place to house plans or strategies as any. We must make haste before our quarry escapes the Maze. Shall I summon Lady Eliza?

Hrrmm. This seems as likely a place to house plans or strategies as any. We must make haste before our quarry escapes the Maze. Shall I summon Lady Eliza?
"You should. Protcol demands it."

GM Rinaldo |

Eliza comes to her door when you knock. As you ask about the locked library room, she asks, "What do you think you may find there? That room contains valuable and potentially dangerous letters and tomes, including some sensitive Society documents."

![]() |

"Ah, but most heinous crimes have been committed on the Pathfinders ground today, including the murder of two senior members, yours truly included. You have warned us yourself to arm ourselves with whatever information we can get our hands on. Whatever the Red Ravens' intentions were, a good chance that the secret lies within? No?" It seems that Myrdon has recovered quite a bit from his death experience, and is back to his frivolous self. At least in appearance.

Fendahl nods in agreement
Hrrmm, that is the crux of the matter. We need information on this attack on the Society itself and this room, by your own admission, may contain letters and tomes as well as sensitive Society documents. We need the information for the sake of the Society.

Marta inwardly frowns at Eliza's reluctance, but puts on her best 'friendly' face and adds "It is only logical that we leave no room uninvestigated."
Auto success on a diplomacy aid, a skill she has no natural talent at but for which she is blessed by Ragathiel with the wisdom to fake. She knows the right tones to use and the right facial expressions and employs her understanding to attempt to help persuade the recalcitrant leader.

GM Rinaldo |

Eliza considers for a moment, then says, "Well, I suppose that is true. I am trusting your discretion to determine what is and is not germaine and only read things that are appropriate to your investigation."
She accompanies you to the library and unlocks the back room. After letting you in, she says, "When you are done, please let me know immediately so I can lock it again."

You take some time to peruse the contents of the library. Nothing within seems relevant to the situation at hand, but those of you specifically looking find a clay tablet that matches the description you were given.
What you do and who you do it with is relevant, so let me know how those of you looking for this tablet proceed.

![]() |

Fendahl will confer with Luisila and Vlad. Hrrmm. This tablet appears to have valuable clues to the mystery here or beyond. I recommend we make a rubbing or etching to transcribe the writings for study if we should need it at any time during the pursuit or trial thereafter.

“Is it possible the person making the rubbing on a scroll gets some kinda health benefit? If so, I think you should do it, Fendahl.”
This possibility causes the half-elf to consider her fellow Dark Archivist and Edgy Libertarian. “Marta and Myrdon, if there is some benefit you can gain from completing your faction mission and I can help you with it, please let me know.”

![]() |

A sullen look comes across Myrdon's face when he finds nothing of interest that can shed a light on the vicious attack. To kill a Venture-Captain is one thing, but to send him, even if briefly, into the netherworld, that cannot go unpunished.
“Marta and Myrdon, if there is some benefit you can gain from completing your faction mission and I can help you with it, please let me know.”
Luisila's words suddenly shock Myrdon back into attention from his musings (mostly comprising of how he will decimate each of those responsible). "What? Uh, no, no help needed there at all. No mission whatsoever from the Dark Archives." The usually glib-tongued Varisian stumbles over his reply then quickly turns away. I have forgotten about that. I knew my mistress has a ... unusual history, but that...

![]() |

Marta is severely disappointed when the search turns up nothing.
"I've been looking for a contact, but all my attempts have been unsuccessful. Perhaps he or she will contact me when it is safe."

GM Rinaldo |

Who is going to do the work to transcribe the tablet? And is anyone planning to be elsewhere for the 10-15 minutes it will take?

![]() |

Marta would like to watch over the prisoner(s) while they wait.

![]() |

Fendahl is not particularly skilled at transcribing but will be present to assist if either Luisila or Vlad take the task.

![]() |

Quickly getting bored by the attention over the tablet, Myrdon takes his leave and wanders about the estate. The rest of the team has shared with him the epic battle which he missed much of, but he decides that he has to see for himself, first in the main building then subsequently in Lodge grounds . The servants have already made some progress in clearing up the place, but it would take some time to undo the severe damage done. He spends some time staring at the patch of dried blookd where he had fallen rather morbidly, before turning away and not looking back. He walks away with his hand resting on the back of his faithful companion, who seems content to just waddle slowly beside its master.

“I’m not sure if my skills are any better than yours, Fendahl.”
Is there any particular skill involved, GM Rinaldo?
Luisila *shrugs* “But if Vlad doesn’t want to do it, I will ...”
“But again, if there’s any individual health benefit from doing this work, I’d feel happier if you or Vlad received it, Fendahl.”

![]() |

If it is a linguistics check, then Vlad is our pick. Otherwise, I am not sure what other skill(s) would be needed.
Vlad, let us know if you do not wish to make the copy and Luisila or I will finish it. Then I urge us to make haste into the Maze.
If he does not post by tonight, assume Fendahl makes the etching/copy of the tablet.

GM Rinaldo |

No skill check, it just mattered who was in the room and who wasn't. Marta is in the training room where the prisoners are being held, and Myrddon is wandering the halls. I've placed him at the kitchen, getting a snack - dying takes a lot out of you. ;-)

As you transcribe the final lines of the Kathari Fragment, the brittle object begins to jerk and shake of its own volition. Before a moment has passed, the fragment bursts in a tiny cloud of dust, which swirls from your hand to form a growing cyclone at the center of the room. Books and scrolls topple from the shelves, and a dark form takes shape within the cyclone. The dust clears to reveal a 10-foot-tall iron statue bearing a cobra’s head. As the creature steps forward to menace you, the room’s torchlight reflects upon an irregular basalt rock encased in the golem’s chest.

Hoooly SHEEE-IT!
Rather bizarrely, Vladek appears to have been way ahead of the others on the task of transcribing the tablet, despite appearing to have been several literal steps behind them. As stands, they find him looking up from the tablet with satisfaction...only for him to continue to look up, and up at this most counterintuitive component for immortality.

Even with penalties for distance and closed doors, Myrddon heard Fendahl's call. Marta can also give a Perception check.

Vladek stands up and realizes you are facing an iron golem. With that roll, you know everything about them. He quickly places a binding on the creature in expectation that it will try to harm you all.
Fendahl steps back and casts a protective spell on Kirrah and commands the lion into the fray. Go ahead and post Kirrah's action, she won initiative also.

"What's the commotion? Have they return?" With a sudden fury that is rather uncharacteristic of Myrdon, he quickly utters the arcane words, "ගොඩබිම් ගුවන් යානයකි!" and immediately dives through the corridors. He yells at Aegis, "Go back to the rest of them, and see what help they need!" The instructions are too complex for the brain of the bird, however, and it simply cocks its head in confusion. "Ah! Just follow me."

Kirrah dutifully begins clawing and scratching at the creature, to no avail. Her claws don't even make a scratch on its metallic surface.

Marta hustles from the training room (that's where her icon is - is that really where the prisoner is being kept?) through the courtyard, on her way to the commotion. She has nothing to add to Mrydon's called question, so she keeps quiet as she hurries.
I do hope this is not a distraction meant to lure me away from the prisoner!

GM Rinaldo |

Yes, it was easily cleared and large enough to keep them all in. Eliza plans to turn them over to the town guard once you are done with them.

Marta gives Luisila a stupefied look, then shakes her head as if clearing it of cobwebs and sighs.

GM Rinaldo |

Vladek: The links are great and I love the flavor descriptions, but it will speed things up for me if you give an OOC comment saying the name of the spell and the enhancement you are doing. If I am familiar with them, it saves me having to click through to see what you did. ;-)
Luisila: Drawing a bow from an efficient quiver is not a free action unless you have some special ability I don't know about. You have a clear shot, but only get a single arrow this round and you are taking the penalties for firing into melee and a prone target.
Myrddon: Casting a 1 Round spell across two rounds uses the standard action in both, so you will not be able to cast Haste next round. You will have a move action remaining after the summon completes.
Aegis: Because this is a manor, I'll allow that the ceilings are 15' high. That means there is no room for Aegis above Kirrah, but there is above Medium sized creatures. I'll also allow her to hover over the prone golem until it stands up. I've moved her token there for now.
Fendahl: you posted for Kirrah but not yourself. Take your round! ;-)
Reflex vs Grease (paralyzed): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Vladek coalesces luck into Fendahl while Qadathra conjures an acidic pool beneath the golem's feet. Unable to move properly due to the chains, it falls to the ground.
Kirrah continues clawing at it, managing to catch it across its eye and leaving a small scratch.
Luisila fires an arrow, but the golem hits the ground just as she fires, and her arrow goes past.
Myrddon rounds the corner, and with a quick command to Aegis begins forming a gate that will call forth more combatants. Aegis flies over the prone giant, but is unable to scratch it.
Fendahl is up, and gets to roll the attacks twice and take the better!

GM Rinaldo |

Once per round, but it will last into next round since Vladek is over 8th level. You also have to declare which roll you are using it on before rolling - it's not a reroll, it's "roll twice and take the better". That said, using on your iterative is the smart thing, so you're good here.
Fendahl gets a mighty swing in and scores a noticeable gash on the golem. He swings again, and for a moment you can see two versions of the swing; unfortunately, both versions are identical, and in the end the second swing misses.
Reflex vs Chains (paralyzed): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The golem lies in the pool of acid, unable to free itself from Luisila's chains.
If it doesn't roll a save pretty soon, this will be a very boring fight. ;-) Everyone is up!

"Well, no matter. We know how to deal with a golem."
In a loud voice she calls out "May the strong arm of the 'blade of retribution' enhance your blows!" and tosses some glittery substance into the air.
Marta calls upon the might of Ragathiel to support her allies and casts judgment light.
Smiting: Silver light erupts from the caster, making allies' weapons within the burst count as magic, the alignment her weapon is, and adamantine for purposes of overcoming damage reduction for 1 round per caster level.
Protection: Amber light erupts from the caster, granting allies in the burst a +2 sacred bonus to AC and CMD, and a +4 bonus to AC against critical confirmation attack rolls for 1 round per caster level.
