Tahata and Maitoh bring up the rear, moving quietly thanks to Loren's signal. Spear in hand, Tahata pads along the tunnel, Maitoh at his side.
The group moves forward fairly quietly and the voices continue until you get to the corner, looking to the east you see a room. This room is oppressively hot compared to the rest of the cellars. A coal furnace roars in the far wall, giving the room a dull red glow. A heap of coal is stacked against the east wall. An iron door opens in the ceiling above the coal pile. Three crude beds made of poorly cured bearskins and wolf pelts have been thrown on the floor before the fire. A hogshead rests between them, next to the bloody bones of some unfortunate creature.
It is clear that this area was not built for large creatures and the room itself seems impossibly small for what is inside of it. Crammed in are two large creatures with rough, green hide. Thier hands end in claws, and their bestial face has a hideous, tusked underbite.
Sadly as quiet as you where, and with some bonuses, you were still not quiet enough and the trolls are looking as you peak around the corner. Loren at least gets the jump on them.

Loren squeezes past Durian and Tahata around the corner in the passage, dodging past the large green humanoid.

Loren is nimble but not quite so nimble as to avoid the swipe of the troll as he passes by. Still he manages to launch a snowball at the troll for not insignificant damage. It clearly smarts but even as the troll swings at Durian you can see the wound close some.

"Troll!" Ayame called out. "Loren ice won't work. Fire is what we need. They'll just keep regenerating if you don't use fire." Ayame explained as she drew Suishen. "If you don't have any fire let me, Suishen can burn them."
Ayame moved in striking out with the blade, even if it wasn't what she was use to.
"Ayame, pull back!" Tahata calls, concerned for her safety in the tight confines of the passageway. "Let's try to draw them into the corridor." Stuck at the back of the group, he takes a moment to tap into his magic, the strength and spirit of the wolf flowing through himself and Maitoh.
"I don't think any of these tunnels are big enough for more than one or two of us to get in close with them." Loren replies to Tahata.
Ouch! Durian yells, taking a hit from one of the trolls. he swings back, punching as hard as he can, striking three times
There's not much room here! and I don't have any fire on me. we'll just have to do what we can
Ayame proves she knows a lot about trolls but not so much about swords and her swing cannot connect. The flame from the blade does make the troll flinch back a little bit.
Tahata cautions Ayame about being in front as he enhances his strength. It is clear that to get around down here the trolls must spend a lot of time squeezing though tight spaces. Even this room barley fits them.
Durain reacts to being struck by countering with two heavy blows to the troll. The blows are enough that the creature is almost knocked out colled.
Despite the blows some of the bleeding stops as the troll unleashes claws and teeth on Ayame!
The troll trapped behind its companion simply bellows in rage.

Loren has become concerned that the trolls are making a lot of noise. He listens at the door he is standing next to in case some of the other foes the sword warned us about might be coming to join us.
He readies his morningstar and holds his action.
Readying his morningstar Loren does not hear anything else from behind. The red troll, still trapped behind, picks up a rock and chucks it at Ayame.
It bellows again as the improvised weapon misses.

"Yeah... Yeah good call." Ayame muttered, her body in a great deal of pain.
With that Ayame withdrew from combat, opening up a space and getting back behind Tahata.
"Maitoh, qorumaq!" Tahata shouts, indicating that the wolf should protect Ayame as she retreats wounded, before slipping past Durian to engage the frontmost troll.
The blue troll falls under the attack from Tahata. Durian is still up.
Durian steps past the fallen troll to strike at the second one.
he braces for the inevitable damage coming back at him....
Durian lands another heavy blow on the red troll but it keeps coming. In fact it seems to shrug off the blow to some degree as the damage done heals a bit.
Enraged it swings with claws and bites with teeth but only one claw manages to connect for minor damage to the dwarf.

Loren is still waiting.
Ayame pulled the wand out and touched it to the worst of her wounds.
Then she pulled a scroll out of her case. Ready to use next round.
Maitoh continues to wait patiently, guarding Ayame as she tends to her wounds. Tahata steps over the body of the fallen troll and drives his spear into the remaining giant, hoping to bring it down before it can do any more damage.
Durian is hurt by the troll, but not badly. he lays into the troll three times
Anyone have fire?! this thing is healing itself!
Ayame heals a little tiny itsy bit while Tahata and Durian attack. Both land multiple blows on the creature bring it down low. With a wimpier it dies as soon as someone stops its regeneration.

A quick look around finds what little the trolls had, probably payment for their guarding and work. You get arm rings and gems totaling 1850gp in value.

Ayame used the scroll she had gotten out to try and heal more of her wounds.
She felt a little bit better yet, anyone could see that she was still rather wounded. "Don't worry, I'll make sure they don't get up." Ayame said before she got over and ran Suishen into one troll before doing it to the other.
"That's a handy magic sword." says to Ayame.
"Feels a little steamy in here....."
Durian watches what Ayame is doing, then scoops some coals out of the furnace with a shovel (I'm assuming there is a shovel or something that was being used to move the coal already) and pours them over the troll bodies.
Convenient that they had some fire nearby... interesting that trolls would be willing to work with fire. never seen that before.
after digging through the remains, Durian lets out a soft whistle. That's a lot of gold... maybe that's why they're here. enough gold and even a troll will do what you tell it to apparently
"Yeah, Suishen is pretty nice." Ayame said with a nod before she returned the weapon with to its sheath.
"It might be from the cold." Ayame told Durian. "These just seem like normal trolls so they wouldn't be use to this colder areas."
Tahata checks over the door opposite the furnace, and a gentle push makes it clear that the door is locked. "Is anyone able to open this locked door?" he asks, looking over at the others.
Durian cracks his knuckles. I know one way to get a door open, but if someone can do it quieter be my guest
"I suspect we've been heard by anything down here after the noise those trolls made," Tahata replies, "but I still think we're better off not smashing the door down if there's another way."
"I'm no good at picking locks."
Durian looks around again, but doesn't see anyone stepping forward. if no one else is going to give it a try, Durian puts his shoulder into the door and slams into it with all his might
I'm going to need some help. quite sturdy this one.... very nicely made door...
"Let me try." Loren says.
He puts his back to the door, crouches down, and heaves into the door with the full force of his legs.
Tahata puts down his spear and moves alongside Loren, ready to help if needed.
Amazingly the door gives under the surprising strength of Loren and Tahata though it certainly does not go quietly. A screech of bending and scraping metal. The door is sturdy and the sound of battle may not have carried but this most likely did.
The ceiling of this grand chamber rises twenty feet overhead, its heavy beams serving as both rafters and supports for the great hall above. Teak paneling covers the walls, and the floor is of polished wood. Along the walls, wooden columns rise to the ceiling above, bearing banners emblazoned with pictograms from far-off Tian Xia. Above these hang small oil lamps that give off a dim glow. A small porcelain bowl rests before the center column to the south, and four reed mats are arranged before it.
Standing in the room are three human monks. Judging from the layer of sweat they had been sparing but now all are looking at the door to see who they get to practice with next. Each monk caries a longspear and is in a fighting stance.
A series of doors lines the north wall as well. Possible the quarters for the monks.
The monks clearly have the drop on you but simply switch to a defensive stance and wait.

Loren steps into the room and chants a quick arcane phrase to cast Mirror Image on himself.
As he steps into the room he appears to split and reform into 4 copies of himself that shift back and forth to distract attackers.
"Whoa whoa, hold on!" Ayame said as she raised her hands. "They haven't attacked yet so maybe we can talk this out?" She asked as she looked to the monks.
Taking a chance Ayame spoke. "Hello, my name is Ayame. We're looking for someone. If you don't attack us, and leave this place, we won't attack you." She told them. "All those who have come against us haven't been able to take us down. Though yes I don't look to be in the best of conditions, I can tell you my friends are no were near as bad. In fact I think I've taken the worst of it... But! My point is, I don't want to kill people if I don't have to. You haven;t attacked yet so you don't really want to fight. I mean why do you fight here anyways? Is it really that worth it?"
Loren looks at Ayame as she starts her speech, then as she finishes he looks over his shoulder at the rest of the party and all four of him shrug.
Durian stays in the back waititn to see how this unfolds, but is ready for another fight
Tahata motions for Maitoh to wait at his side as Ayame attempts to converse peacefully with the waiting humans. He holds his spear across his body, ready to defend himself if necessary.
The moment of surprise is lost and a figure enters from one of the small rooms that adjoined the training room. Dressed in red and carrying a blue dagger. She looks at Ayame and whispers in Tian. "Kill them."
With that she quickly scales the wall and attempts to disappear in the high beam.
The monks move forward in unison and the red monk stabs, using the reach of the spear, at Ayame.

Loren pulls a Wand of Shield from his belt and activates it.
Then he takes a 5' step to the southwest to clear the door.
Ayame sighed as she slowly unsheathed Suishen, the blade sparking to life. Holding the flaming sword Ayame said "Anata wa nidoto ie o miru koto wa arimasen" It was Minkain, and her tone made it seem like it was something of sorrow.
Ayame stepped up and took a swing at the first person before her. However it was obvious that she didn't know this weapon that well.
With the diplomatic approach having failed Tahata leaps into action. Lifting his spear he rushes forwards towards the nearest enemy, calling to his companion as he runs. "Maitoh, hücum!" he shouts and the wolf springs forward, fangs bared and slashing at the human's leg.
Durian follows the gorup and swings at one of the monks with his long spear
The monks move sliently as they manage to avoid all of the attacks from the party with small shifts of their bodies. Clearly these monks have been trained well.
The red monk drops his spear and swings twice at Ayame but fails to connect with either. At the same time the blue monk stabs at Ayame and he too misses.
The green monk lashes out at the many faces of Loren but he too cannot connect.
