Woodland Stride
Me and my animal companion may move through any sort of undergrowth (such as natural thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain) at normal speed and without taking damage or suffering any other impairment.

Thorns, briars, and overgrown areas that are enchanted or magically manipulated to impede motion will still affect the hunter and her animal companion.

Appearance:

Tahata appears much like a stereotypical depiction of a Shoanti male - tall and muscular with a shaven head and a number of tattoos. Only those who look beyond their prejudices see more.

His brown eyes are set deep into his expressive face, hiding their youthful sparkle and lust for adventure. His skin is bronzed and weathered from his life in the wild places of Varisia. Many of his tattoos are hidden beneath clothing, but a stylised crescent moon is visible on the right side of his neck and whorls and loops of feathers trace their way across his head and around his right eye.

Dressed in traditionally made clothing - a fur-trimmed jerkin, linen trousers, dark leather boots, and a cloak edged with feathers - and accompanied at all times by his grey wolf Maitoh, Tahata is every inch the Shoanti tribesman.

Background:

Born under a full moon to a small band of Shriikirri-Quah Shoanti, Tahata was marked out from an early age as one with great potential.

Tahata's family formed part of a group of Shriikirri-Quah living within the southern Churlwood, having travelled widely and ranged throughout the forest which forms the eastern border of their clan's traditional lands. Tahata was instructed in his clan's ways and skills - hunting, scouting, and fighting. He showed great affinity for the darkness, his unnaturally sharp night vision aiding him in navigating and hunting even in the darkest depths of the primeval forest.

He came to the attention of the elders when he single-handedly fought off a rabid she-wolf which had come upon the hunting party he led during his arduous coming-of-age test. He then managed to track down and rescue the wolf's abandoned cub, returning with it to the encampment.

Given the name Moonrunner, honouring his night vision and affinity with wolf-kind, Tahata was given his first tattoo - a crescent moon - and inducted into the clan's inner circle of totem-bonded warriors. Under the watchful eye of the elders he was taught their magic, how to join his spirit to that of Maitoh, and how to connect to the great ancestral wolf totem spirit, before being released into the wilds. Accompanied by his faithful wolf Maitoh, Tahata explores the wilderness to deepen his connection to nature and to develop his skills before returning to his clan to pass on his knowledge.
