Tahata has Maitoh hold still while Ayame seems to their wounds. The wolf licks her hand gently, his affection for Ayame clear to see. ”I agree,” Tahata replies to Durian, ”we don’t want to leave unexplored areas at our backs.” Motioning to Maitoh to follow him, Tahata moves up to support Durian as he opens the door.

A brazier in the corner of this room glows faintly with red coals, its smoke reminiscent of the stench of scorched flesh. A short bed with a headboard
carved with the image of an open-mouthed demon stands against one wall, and a small table cluttered with books, scrolls, and a stuffed and mounted stirge sits across from it. A magic circle has been scribed in center of the floor with chalk. Torn papers, bits of old food, and other debris are scattered about
he room, collecting in corners and under the bed and table.

Durian and Tahata are the first thought the door but they do not see the the giant rotting hand until it slides out from under the bed rocking unsteadily, propped upon thick, stubby fingers. Its pale, necrotic flesh pulses and crawls with sickly boils.

Ayame followed the group, looking into the room that two of her friends stepped into. Upon seeing the undead hand, she let out a shocked but short scream. "What is that?!"

"Don't cut or pierce it!" Ayame warned the group. "It sprays stuff when the skin is opened!"

Seeing no way to get in on the action, Loren holds his action.

Hearing Ayame's warning, and presuming she knows more about the creature than he does, Tahata pulls his warclub from his belt. Gripping the carved piece of oak in one hand, he signals to Maitoh with the other. "Maitoh, qorumaq," he instructs, gesturing for the wolf to protect Ayame as he steps forward and tries to crush the disembodied hand,

Tahata - Move Action to draw my club, Free Action to handle Maitoh, Free Action to 5ft step (I assume this is needed as the hand doesn't seem to appear on the map at present), Standard Action to attack the hand.
Maitoh - Standard Action to Ready to attack any enemies that attack Ayame.

Ayame calls out what the creature is. Tahata steps in but misses his attack and the hand tries to claw him in return.

durian takes Ayame's words in quickly and does not go after the thing with a spear. instead he steps slightly towards the hand and tries to stomp on it a few times

All of Durian attacks miss but the activity does seem to get the attention of the hand. It lashes out with a claw scratching the dwarf pretty good, fortunately for Durian the hand cannot grab him.

Tahata steps up towards the moving hand as it attacks Durian. He takes a two-handed grip on his warclub and brings it arcing down towards the rogue appendage. Maitoh stands watchfully, guarding Ayame.

Maitoh - Standard Action to Ready to attack any enemies that attack Ayame.

Durian lands one very hard strike and Tahata connects with his spear. The damage is significant and Tahata manages to avoid the jet of puss that shoots from the hand at him.

The hand reaches out quick as a flash with its fingers scratches Tahata with its unhygienic nails. Fortunately for the hunter it cannot get a good grip on him after the scratch.

Still holding action at the back.

"What did I tell you about the stabbing and the slashing?!" Ayame called out as she stopped her performance however the sounds still lingered.

You all have two more rounds of Courage before she has to start up again.

This time Ayame stepped into the room and covered Tahata's back.

Gonna use the aid another to boost Tahata's AC by 2, also could someone move her pawn in behind him? I can't do it on my phone.

I'm not using my spear. Having heeded Ayame's warning I'm bashing it with my club. Thanks for the aid Ayame, though you need to be in a position to attack the creature and make an attack roll against AC 10 to be able to aid in combat.

Tahata grits his teeth against the pain of the hand's splintered and stinking nails scratching into the skin oh leg, but manages to pull away quickly enough to prevent the rotting fingers from closing around his limb.

The groups moves to defend each other and battle the hand giving Durian a chance to land one powerful punch that causes the fingers to splay out flat as the hand drops too the floor dead.

Looking about the room Tahata notices a secret compartment. In fact he is so keen eyes that he also notices the trigger to open the compartment. Inside are three arcane scrolls of magic circle against evil (caster level 5th) and a vial of powdered silver worth 60 gp (good for three castings of a magic circle spell).

Feel free to do anything else you need on this level but I am going to start the move down.

Going down the stairs you hear a low moan so stop and Durian peeks his head around the corner.

The hallway widens here into a small chamber with a door exiting to the south. The door is banded with wide straps of iron and bears a large, heavy lock. A single brazier provides dim light to this area. It is hard to see what is going on but there is certainly someone in the area where things open up a little.

"These scrolls may prove useful if we encounter outsiders that are too powerful for us to battle directly."

Tahata gladly hands over the scroll and the vial of silvery powder to Loren, the arcane writings indecipherable to him.

He motions Maitoh to join him as the group sets off down to the next level. The flickering light cast by the brazier throws shadows across the walls and Maitoh nudges Tahata's hand. "He has scented something further ahead," Tahata whispers to the group. "I will scout forward to check." Gripping his spear Tahata pads slowly down the corridor.

Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Durian eases out behind Tahata, trying to keep quiet and looking for movement in the shadows

Ayame followed behind Maitoh, Tahata, and Durian trying to be as quiet as the others.

Loren will bring up the rear as the other descend down the narrow stairs

Given the distance and the corners you think you are all quiet enough to escape notice. Being quiet and watching for the moment the only thing you know for sure from where you are is that there are at least two zombies ahead.

The zombies are not moving, just standing still as though waiting.

There are corners and you cannot see but if you had to bet you would bet there is something more ahead.

Durian leans back from looking around the corner and holds up two fingers, then points again down the hallway. then he holds his arms in front of himself, mouth hanging open, pantomiming zombies.

Working out the gist of Durian's mime, Tahata nods his head in understanding. He gestures at Durian and himself, then points down the corridor, suggesting that the two of them advance. He grips his spear and readies to take on the zombies ahead.

Loren hefts his morningstar and gets ready.

Ayame drew Suishen and gave a nod to the others, letting them know she was as ready as she'd ever be.

Durian holds up five fingers, counting down to zero. when he runs out of fingers, he runs around the corner, charging the close zombie

assuming we get to do a surprise round by doing this... Durian will charge a zombie

Durain advances quickly and get the drop on the first zombie dispatching it quickly. You have the jump on the group and Durian can see more of what is going on. Visiable are three more zombies and there is movement from the room to the north indicating more zombies or something.

Loren waits for Tahata and the wolf to clear the stairs.

Tahata pauses briefly to let Durian lead the attack, and the wet thump of a body hitting the floor is his cue to enter the fray. "Maitoh, hücum!" he calls and the wolf follows along at pace to tackle the nearest zombie. The two split around Durian, moving efficiently together, and strike at the shambling creature.

Tahata - Free Action to handle Maitoh, Move Action to move 25ft (avoiding an AoO thanks to the cover provided by Durian while moving through his space), Standard Action to attack yellow.
Maitoh - Move Action to move 30ft (avoiding AoOs for the same reason), Standard Action to attack yellow (though if Tahata drops yellow he'll go for purple.

Ayame swung but she had misjudged the weight of the blade with her momentum of her owm movements.

'I'm sorry Suishen... I'm an embarrassment trying to wield you. I need much more practice." Ayame thought to the blade.

Tahata would you need a handle animal roll since Maitoh does not have 'attack anything'?

Matitoh savages the purple zombie and Durian does the same to light blue zombie. This leaves only one visible zombie to deal with.

Suddenly there is movement in the room to the north and a zombie is stumbles out revealing a toll behind it. Durian catches the troll out of the corner of his eye before it vanishes from site.

Leaving the troll token there so you can see how rediclous it is that a large troll is in this little tiny map!

The remaining zombie tries to slam Ayame and connects for substantial damage.

Ayame has 42 HP and an AC of 20. So that actually didn't hit!... By one!

Ayame thanked the armor she wore for escaping that hit with little more than the wind knocked out of her. She came back quickly on recovery and slashed at the zombie with Suishen.

Suishen attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (2) = 5

This time Ayame struck true, slicing the blade across the zombie's chest. "I did it! I hit!" Ayame declared happily, then she realized she hadn't downed the zombie. "I'll take what I can get." She shrugged and readied herself for the next attack.

She hit! But did terrible damage...

Woops, not sure how I missed that. Quarantine brain is party of why GM posts are slow. Having trouble with details.

Why is a troll wedged down here? Some of the encounters in this bit don't seem fully thought out!

Maitoh drops the leg he'd ripped from the now still zombie and turns to savage the cornered undead, his instincts needing no guidance from Tahata.

Assuming Durian calls out that a troll is nearby...

With a troll about to enter the fray Tahata takes a moment to prepare himself and Maitoh for a greater trial. He draws magical power from the great totem wolf spirit of his people, strengthening muscles and hardening skin for the fight to come.

Tahata - Swift Action to use Shared Strength for +1 natural armour, Standard Action to cast bull's strength on himself and Maitoh using Improved Spell Sharing.
Maitoh - Standard Action to attack blue.

Durian sees a troll briefly, and sees it vanish. did I just see that? illusion? ninja troll? he very carefully advances on the last zombie, keeping his eyes open for an attack coming from an invisible enemy...

Durian will use his second use of Martial Flexibility as a swift action to gain the benefits of Blind-Fight for 1 minute

Loren steps up behind the wolf and readies an action to cast a Snowball spell at the troll if it reappears.

The idea that they took over a place that nomally houses humans I get. Personally if I was a big ass troll I would have been making my zombies upstairs when I can move. It really limits what the creatures can do.

Amy delivers a deep cut to the red zombie. Tahata buffs himself for a fight while Maitoh fails to bite the zombie. Durian quickly disparches the blue zombie while wondering about the troll vanishing.

Loren readies a spell for when the troll reappears. He will get an AC bonus when you thought it thought the door.

The troll reappears as it finishes its spell creating a pit underneath Durian and Maitoh. The pit is ten foot to each side and ten feet deep. It is going to be difficult to not fall in given how tight you are packed int!! [ooc] [u] DC17 Reflex or 10ft fall[/u]

The red zombie again attempts to slam Ayame but cannot connect.
