Durian slowly makes his way across the room trying to peek around the corner where the dripping noise is coming from, relying on his darkvision to see what lies beyond

"I'm unsure what's going on here," Tahata admits as the avatar of Pharasma vanishes. "Perhaps my earlier optimism was misplaced." He grips his spear and, signalling Maitoh, follows on behind Durian.

"So...that's it?" Kagyu asks after the vanished Pharasma. "Pretty impatient for an immortal deity, " he says picking back up his weapon. "I guess she made the choice for us. On we go."

Responding to Kagyu "Yes, a little too impatient." Losjien nods to Durian and is impressed with his ability to remain hidden. He agrees with the groups direction and follows cautiously.

Durian moves in very slowly and quietly, beyond where the image was the cavern steps down two five foot ledges. The area is dark but there is at least enough light to make out shapes. On the lowest level you see four purple bulbous head supported by a writhing mass of tenticals. The tentacle creatures move at the same time, clearly a mirror image spell is in effect. Also in the darkness you can make out at least two troglodytes.

You did move quietly but maybe not as quietly as you like. The four images are clearly watching you and speaking in a foreign tongue.

As soon a he sees the flash of light, Kagyu runs down the corridor towards Durian. He stops in front of his smoking ally, using his body and shield to cover him from any more attacks. "What in the abyss is that!?" He shouts, taken aback by the hideous writhing forms.

Reaching behind him he gives Durian a Bit of Luck.

Durian yells as the flames hit him, smelling burnt hair. He steps up slightly, pulling one of his javelins off of his back.

I FOUND THE TENTACLE MONSTER! He yells back to the rest of the group.

He hurls his javelin at the purple trog, feeling inexplicably lucky despite his smoking arm.

Soon after the godess disappeared, he awaited his allies sneak attempts to find answers. It was better if he didn't follow given that his footfall was as silent as an ogre's.

I FOUND THE TENTACLE MONSTER!

Hearing his friend's voice brought a sense of urgency however.

"Hang on, Durian-san! Will come help you make Calamari Surprise!" He shouted to his dwarven friend before rushing to his aid, moving his feet as fast as the wind. As he did, he pulled out his crossbow and took a shot at the first creature he could see.

Hearing Durian's shout, Tahata and Maitoh rush forward to assist. "Maitoh, daban," Tahata calls before summoning his magic. He channels the strength of his ancestors into his speartip which gleams in the darkness. Reaching down to touch Maitoh, he connects with the strength and resilience of the wolf spirit of his people, toughening his skin against the fight to come

Tahata - Move Action to move 30ft, Standard Action to cast lead blades, Swift Action to use Shared Strength to give myself +1 natural armour.
Maitoh - Move Action to move 35ft, Standard Action to ready to attack any enemies that come within reach.

Calling to the others that he found the monster Durian launches a javelin that, thanks to Desna's guidance, tears a chunk from the purple troglodyte. Miyagi-san rushes forward to aid his comrade but cannot connect with his crossbow bolt. Tahata and his companion move into a better postion to attack later and Tahata boosts both his and the wolves abilities.

Nindinzego, the tentacle monster screams in an unknowen language levels this wand again, this time at Miyagi-san. The four images again unleash a beam of heat.

Gortrek grunted as, once again, he was left behind. Placing a hand on his blade, but not yet drawing it, he rushed to catch up, doing his best to put himself between the monster and his squishier comrades.

Magic Weapon Tahata' Spear

After Tahata's spear begins glowing Green Losjien begins taking strange orbs out of his cloak preparing for the fight.

I know splitting up the initiative like this makes for a slower fight but not doing it has problems as well. This, while not the final confrontation, is the biggest bad in the book and letting him and his lackeys focus fire would have been bad.

Being a true samurai Gortrek rushes forward to get himself into harms way. Losjien, I guess being a true sorcerer, does not rush to the front but instead enchants Tahata's blade.

Kagyu's lips move as he closes the distance as best he can in his cumbersome armor. Before the troglodytes can react, a spectral glaive--a replica of Shelyn's own weapon, Whisperer of Souls--materializes and slices at one of them.

Narrowly dodging the spell, the monk focused his attention on his foes. "Looks like Calamari Surprise and a side of Troglo-Bites. Time to tenderize!" He shouted as he rushed forward, charging the first trog within his reach.

Tahata feels his spear thrum with power as Losjien charges it with magic. He nods his thanks to the elf before issuing his command to Maitoh. "Maitoh, cinah!" he calls, rushing toward the troglodyte currently locked in battle with Miyagi. The wolf slips around behind the lizard-creature as Tahata thrusts his spear at it's exposed flank.

Durian smiles as he sees all of his companions rush past him into the fight. Now you're in for it, squid!

Durian levels his longspear and charges at the red trog

The second scorching ray was enough. Kagyu targeted the writhing mass, praying to his Goddess. As the spell was cast, the creatures vision tunneled, Kagyu appearing as the only bright mark on the battle field, demanding his attention.

Meanwhile, the spectral glaive continued press the line troglodyte.

To us Compel Hostility's [/b] effect you need to threaten the creature so until you are in melee you cannot use this. Also I gave you a five foot step so you could see.

I got distracted in the middle of posting. I updated my character position to melee range. I think I was within Kagyu's movement range. Please move him back if I'm wrong.

"Why does nothing in this bloody pit fight with honor..." Gortrek grumbled to himself as the creature fled, forcing him to once again give chase. The hall into which he followed was narrow, and he was forced to give the creature a shot at him to get close.

With his current opponent deceased, Miyagi turned to the squid and pursed. His speed would easily allow him to catch this creature and prevent it from running further. He rounded the creature, using Gortek's own pursuit as a distraction to cut off its avenue of further escape.

"Nowhere to run now, monster!"

Double Move 45' Since Gortrek took an AoO, I think I can slink by unharmed.

As Gotrek moves by the tentacle monster lashes out with one of its clawed tentacles at the samurai. Fortunately it does not connect. Taking his moment Miyagi-san moves into place while Durian stabs with his spear. The spear cannot penetrate the hide of the creature.

Watching durians spear bounce of of the tentacle Losjien prepares himself for gritty battle.

Seeing Miyagi slip by the tentacle monstrosity unharmed Tahata has no qualms about sending Maitoh to encircle the beast. "Maitoh, cinah!" he yells, the wolf rushing through the swirling melee, before following up himself. He thrusts his spear at the horror before him, working in concert with Maitoh to bring the creature down.

Completing the encircling of Nindinzego Thata attacks with his spear but it, like Durian's, cannot pierce the thick hide. Maitoh has better luck and bits the creature, instead of coming away with a mouthful of blood and skin one of the mirror images simply vanishes.

Noting the creatures resistance, Gortrek closes his eyes for a moment to center himself.

Durian bobs back and forth, looking for an opening but is unable to reach the creature with his unarmed attacks past his allies. He sticks to his long spear, trying to get a better hit in with his allies' help

Maitoh growls and yelps as the tentacle monstrosity bites and claws at him. The wolf continues to attack, biting at the creature's rubbery flesh, as Tahata drives his spear in.

Creature has DR5 so far nothing you have done has bypassed.
I have given you his AC in the tracker as well as he has been attacked enough to pretty much figure it out.

Gotrek swings his blade at the creature but cannot seem to connect with the writhing tentacles. Losjien moves to position while buffing up his own resistance to various forms of damage. Again Durian stabs with his spear but finds he cannot even hit the creature.

With a flurry of fists Miyagi-san first breaks one of the images then connects with the creature before breaking the final image. The punch connects but Miyagi-san can tell that it did not take full effect.

Seeing his companion hurt badly Tahata again strikes with his spear but he fails to connect. Maitoh on the other hand bites again and comes back with a mouth full of thick green blood.

Having been damaged by two of his attakers Nindinzego decides to focus on the monk. Again attacking with claws and teeth and again both claws find their target diggin deep into Miyagi-san's flesh. {12 damage}

The creature rumbles deep as a laugh starts to escape its mouth. Thinking you are ineffective it is starting to enjoy this battle.

Finally the Kelda, the barbarian you rescued, moves closer to the fight, observing what is going on. She looks at her weapons as though considering getting involved.

Durian grunts in frustration and tries to push his way in closer, elbowing past Tahata and trying to avoid the tentacles

The monk grunted more as he felt his flesh give in to the creature's strikes and his vision blurring. He was weakening fast. Still, he had to fight on. If not for the sake of his survival, then for the sake of Ameiko. "This monk falls on his feet!" He shouted as he continued to unleash punch after punch.

Rebalancing himself, Gortrek took a deep breath. This creature had to die, and he had to make sure of it. Once again, he struck.

Again Durian attacks the creature, this time with strikes, and again he cannot connect. Both Miyagi-san and Gortrek manage to land blows. When the half-orcs attack connects the creature howls in rage.

Out of reach of Miyagi or Maitoh, Kagyu releases an aura of healing energy and simultaneously directs his spectral glaive to make one last attack.

The glaive connects with the Horror but doesn't even leave a scratch. With its final attack the glaive winks out of existence.

With his glaive and compulsion gone, he wrack his brain on how the party can take this creature down

Knowing better than to disturb his companions battle, Losjien floats quickly over to Gortrek. knowing the half-orc's honorable blade could use just one more push to penetrate the beast he enchants the weapon.

Losjien reaches his elven arms into the fray seeking the flat of Gortreks samurai sword.
